2.26.07 - Emily Turns 25
Happy Birthday Celebration for Emily as she turns a quarter century old! Birthday’s can just be so much fun, and we had a great time with Emily’s 25th. Her mom called her in the morning and asked her how old she was today, because her mom didn’t want to count – 25 years is getting up there.
Apart from getting older, Emily got lots of other wonderful presents on her birthday. Her kindergarten moms were especially nice to her and when I picked her up from school she was carrying bags of gift cards and multiple flower arrangements and a mini cake.
Thanks to both moms and dads for the presents and money, Emily used it to spruce up her “workout” equipment with a new pedometer, trampoline, jump rope, and a giant workout ball!
I got her a cute little pink t-shirt and her favorite (and apparently a most important) ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Then I got to take her out to eat at Red Lobster. We had a great time, and our server even brought her a little cup of ice cream with a candle and sang “Happy Birthday” to her right in the restaurant (I had mom and dad sing on the phone at the same time, it was fun).
Birthdays are wonderful times to find excuses to celebrate. I have a feeling that we don’t celebrate life as much as we should. Thanks for reading about Emily’s special day, and I hope you can find ways to celebrate the joyful things of life as well.
