4.8.07 - Happy Easter

Our "small" small group family, in the Newton's living room

Don't be fooled... Jason is on his tip-toes!

Us with Natalie and her girl Haley

Here's a group shot with the Newton's parents and grandparents, and special thanks to Natalie's mom for sending these pictures!

Happy Easter! He is Risen! I just love Easter. I’ve always called it the Superbowl of church services. I still think that it should be celebrated as one giant party; you know with lots of food and music, it’s basically the whole foundation of Christianity and as far as I’m concerned its my favorite holiday.

This Easter Sunday we had a great church service. We even got to do the traditional responsive reading that I grew up with at my home church. There was about 1,100 people who showed up for church this Sunday and our pastor did a great job speaking on the topic of Grace.

After church, Emily and I were invited over to Robert and Natalie Newton’s house for and enormous Easter lunch. There we got to meet their parents and grandparents along with Jason Forgey and Jamie Chadwell from our small group. Dinner was wonderful and we even got leftovers to take home! Thanks Natalie!

For me Easter is filled with memories. Every year Mom would hid Easter baskets for Kari and I, and each year Kari would find all the baskets before anyone else could get one. We’d get dressed up for church and then come home for naps. Easter was always filled with eggs, bright colors, early mornings, and healthy candy (an oxymoron I know) and the most important of all, family. We thank the Newtons for making us feel like family this Easter!
