5.26.07 - The Kibbe Wedding

My old roommate Mike Kibbe left DTS two and a half years ago to move to California, chasing after a girl. I always thought it was pretty gutsy to just pack up and move over “love.” But now after two and half years, the risk paid off and they’re finally married.

The wedding was a beautiful outdoor wedding down in a meadow with a horse drawn carriage and a babbling brook right near by (their dog actually jumped in the creek during the wedding). The ladies wore a blue sundress with white sandals, and all us groomsmen just wore our vests, Mike had on a brand new suit.

Along with the wedding it was wonderful to see so many old friends again. My old roommate Jesse was there with his wife Erica, and Mike’s old roommates were all there. Lots of other friends from Cedarville were there as well.

The country of north California is very beautiful. We followed a winding road up into the mountains to where the pine trees grow tall. The wedding was held at a summer camp with bunks, a chow lounge and even a basketball court. I got to go for a walk in the woods in the morning and even see stars at night (two things unfamiliar to Dallas).

Although the trip was short and packed right in the middle of work and summer school, it was great to see my two friends Annie and Mike tie the knot. Emily and I agree they picked a great time of the year to get married.
