5.13.08 - The Flunker Grandparents Visit and Kari too!

Short, sweet, and mainly too short. Mom and Dad (now Grandma and Grandpa Flunker) came down to Dallas for 3 days over the weekend for graduation, mother’s day, Micah, and seeing us before we head to the mission field (not particularly in that order).

They got it late Friday and absolutely couldn’t wait to hold they’re new firstborn grandson. Grandma fell in love with him right away, and he seemed to be pretty happy to, always resting and on his best behavior for Grandma and Grandpa. The new Grandpa was very proud to hold his little grandson, and like many people have told us, you can totally see the family resemblance.

Saturday was graduation and the whole family showed up to support me, I had my very own cheering section at the ceremony. I think my mom almost cried a little to watch me graduate; I guess it’s a pretty big deal for a mom. Then it was lots pictures and off to the airport right away to pick up my sister Kari, who just missed graduation cause her plane was delayed.

I had the funnest time with my family. As is the usual tradition we got to throw around the football and play 500 (which I’m ashamed to say my Dad can still kick both Kari’s and my butts). We got Mom a kite for mother’s day, cause she loves them, but there wasn’t enough wind, oh well.

Then it was church on Sunday, where baby Micah got dedicated and the proud Grandma and Grandpa got to stand – it really was such a wonderful time for them to visit. But then, early Monday morning and all too soon they were headed back home. Our time with them was very special, extra special with Micah – but so short that we’re going to hope they have to come back again before we head to the Caribbean. Just enough of a taste to get-em wanting more! Love you Grandma and Grandpa!
