4.30.09 - Tag the Puppy

Well, guess what - we got a dog. Although some wouldn't call him a dog - he's more like an animatronic stuffed animal. This past month when we had our family visit, we also had them bring down the puppy that they had been taking care of for us.

Tag was actually a Christmas present for Emily, but because of immigration restrictions we had to wait until he was a certain age before we could bring him to the Bahamas.

He is what they call a "Shorkie" - which is half Shitzu and half Yorkie. We both think he is a great pup. He never barks (which is a huge blessing when you own a "yippe-dog") and he doesn't shed and he is hypoallergenic.

Emily named him "Tag" because when she first got him as a puppy he had a little white spot of hair right between his shoulder blades that looked like a "tag" you'd see on a t-shirt.

We are enjoying playing fetch with him and having him as companion for Micah to play with as well as little lap dog. Best of all he fits perfectly in one of those little carryon pet holders in case we ever needed to leave the island. He's about as ideal a dog as you can have for where we live.
