6.27.10 - Cornerstone Church Team

This past week we enjoyed the fellowship and servanthood of a primarily youth team from Cornerstone Church. The youth team was led by Kent Suter and he has been back and forth to Eleuthera for many years serving from some of the very first construction projects CMA has worked on.

During their week they continued to work left from our previous teams on the new cistern. They diligently worked non-stop in the sun each day to put on a strong, hurricane-proof roof on the cistern.

With a team of mostly guys, they divided up and took on roles; some for cutting, some for measuring, some for driving nails. There is a proverb which says, "Many hands make light work," although I'm not sure that it is in the Bible. However, that English proverb is certainly true when it comes to construction work.

For me the major highlight of this team's week was actually an addition to the team. One of my good friends who graduated with me from DTS is serving as a pastor in Nevada. A family from his church wanted to do some mission work this summer, so they came down and partnered with Cornerstone. They are some of the hardest working people I've ever met, and sweet spirited; we had a wonderful week together. Hopefully, they will be able to lead a whole team down in the future from the church.

While the team this past week did many other things (work at the Center, VBS, Charlie's House, etc) it was encouraging to see them grow to work together by the end of the week. May that be true for all of us as we work for His glory.
