4.05.10 - Mom's Visit - by Emily
It’s been a GREAT two weeks! My mom came to visit! This is her first trip to Eleuthera, so we had lots of fun taking her to all our favorite spots!
We went to Spanish Wells and saw the manatee and got a conch shell. We also went to Harbor Island, The Ocean Hole, The Cliffs, and some of our favorite beaches!
We got to go snorkeling and celebrate her birthday too! She also came at a great time to experience lots of the culture here. She got to be part of our Palm Sunday parade and settlement service, our Good Friday settlement party, the Easter Church service, and she got to spend lots of time with our friends here!
She also got to be here for part of a team! She ate conch salad, which she liked until she found out how it’s made! And she tried all the other traditional Bahamian cuisine!
The Lord also sent 4 pelicans that aren’t usually here, to our settlement – I think just for her! I think she would say though that of all the fun things we did her favorite part was playing with Micah! She got lots of good “grandma” time in! It was wonderful to have her here! I also think that in a close second tie she loved spending time with Ryan and I and she loved just looking out at the ocean.
It’s such blessing to have family here! It was a blessing to Ryan and I and Micah to have her here! We miss her and cherish each moment we have with her and our other family and friends!
