3.12.11 - Delora's Visit

Delora Lemaster has become a family friend ever since 2001. She was, technically speaking, mine and Jesse Frederick's landlord for 3 years during our time at Cedarville University, but she is much more like an adopted Grandmother. For years she has supported us, seen pictures and heard stories about Eleuthera, but this past week was her first time to actually visit and see first hand what the hype is all about!

She traveled down with at team traveling from CU and she and the entire team were stranded without their luggage for a couple of days. But we managed and it was almost like old times, living in the same house… even thought she was staying just next door.

Micah loves "Grandma Lora" (as he calls her), and she even watched him for a night while Emily and I were out with our discipleship partners. She brought brand new cars for Micah to play with, and they are now his favorite!

While we would have liked to have done more sight seeing, the timing of Delora's trip was surrounding our final class in Rock Sound and Graduation. So there was abundant time to sit and read and enjoy the crisp Bahamian weather. We did get to have some great conversations and Delora cooked spaghetti for us, and she and Emily even had a few trips up and down the island.

Delora has been such an encouragement to us over the years. To this day when we travel to Cedarville, we call her first to see if she's got a room available for us to stay. It was truly a treat and our privilege to spend time with her and share with her a little bit of our lives again.
