February Newsletter '07

Greetings,

Can you believe that February is already over! This month has truly flown past. February is a celebration month for us since I proposed on Valentines Day and February has Emily’s birthday. They say time flies when you’re having fun, and that was especially true for this short month.

Emily's Birthday

In the midst of our busy schedules, we found some time to celebrate for Emily’s 25th birthday. It is so much fun to enjoy the events of life and make them reasons to celebrate. We don’t get to eat out too often, but I took Emily to Red Lobster (and got lost on the way driving there), and we had a great time.

Emily was spoiled by her Kindergarten Moms and we’ve got lots of flowers around the house. Reality will reveal that we’re still super busy and have yet to eat Emily’s birthday cake, but it’s on the agenda for dessert tonight (only 2 days old). Click HERE to see more pictures from Emily’s Day.

Eleuthera Update

We just had a great phone call from missionaries Brad and Alicia Fox and caught up with family and ministry on the island. Other than that we have heard surprisingly little in regards to the ministry in Eleuthera. However, some recent events include the conclusion of the teaching of the NT survey class on Spanish Wells, and Dave Hawkins’ visit to Freeport to explore the potential of beginning training classes there. We are right on track to head over to the island over spring break, and we’re very excited about seeing our friends again. Please keep the staff and students in prayer as there are always a variety of challenges in ministry. Click HERE to read more about CMA NT Survey Class and Dave’s Visit to Freeport

Update - From the Month of Love
As I mentioned, Emily and I were engaged on Valentines Day 05, and we try to celebrate it each February 14 th. I’m pretty sure that I told her that I’d take her out to dinner, and then I never did – I’ll have to make up for that one, but you can check out more pictures from Valentine’s Day on our website HERE.

I also got to see a friend from church who has been going through cancer treatments with her husband; you can read about our meeting HERE. Finally, if you’re familiar with the Dallas based Christian Radio Station KLTY they have a children’s group give the Pledge of Allegiance each morning, and I got to record the kids at FBC Frisco. You can hear the short broadcast clip HERE.

Prayers and Praises
Praise that spring break is on its way and I should have some time to catch up with school
Praise that we’ve got all the equipment we need for this coming trip to EL
Praise that Emily and I have finally got over our throat infections
Praise that our church at FBC is doing better and we are focusing on missions
Praise for the Lord’s continual faithfulness in providing all we need
Praise that we got to spend last Friday ministering downtown with our small group

Pray for my health (Ryan), I hate to even mention it, but it seems like I’m continually fighting something
Please pray for a successful trip back to Eleuthera, we’ve got a very full schedule and there’s a lot that we’ll need to do while we’re there
Also please pray for safe travel as we all know about the hassle of airports, etc
Pray for Emily’s preparation in finishing another year of kindergarten and the program at the end of the year
Also, we’ve been very busy and it’s starting to show as we’re more and more worn out – pray that we can find time to rest and worship
Additionally, we both a bit homesick – thanks for your prayers
