So Ryan giving me a flower yesterday made my heart melt, but I have to say that today came in a close second….When Micah and I were outside he brought me a flower that he picked for me! It was sooo cute! And I had flowers on my shirt, and when he gave the flower to me he smiled the biggest smile and pointed to the flower on my shirt and said “see!?” It was so very precious!

I gave Micah a haircut today. It was so hard to get him to sit still! I have to admit that it is not the best haircut in the world! It’s very uneven, it’s a good thing he’s only two and won’t remember when his mom botched his haircut!
Tonight was a sweet night. When we put Micah to bed, and I came back to the living room, Ryan turned on the song “Have I told you lately that I love you” and we danced to it in the living room. Then he gave me a plumeria flower. I have the best husband!

Ryan preached at the Methodist Church in Governors this morning. I spent the time outside with Micah who threw fits the whole time. He’s wonderful, but sometimes I wonder why I even go to church. Micah and I took naps after church and then I made dinner on our stove that makes the whole house smell like gas. My favorite part of today was watching Ryan and Micah play outside on the new slide. It has a basketball hoop attached to it and Micah loves it!

Today we spent a lot of time in JC and visited friends and checked e-mails at the Center. We don’t have TV or internet or phones at our new house. We are running an internet line from the neighbors, but it doesn’t work a lot of the time. Our time in JC was good with friends though, and we dropped off Mick, the teacher from class, and his sister at the airport. Then we ordered a pizza from the cheeseburger place and brought it back and rested for a while. Then after Micah’s nap we went back into JC for a while. By the time we got back though it was late and we still hadn’t had dinner or given Micah a much-needed bath, so bed time ended up being late. I did however get to talk to my friend Stephanie for a few minutes until the internet shut off again.

Today Micah turned 2 years old! Happy Birthday my baby! I made him a tractor cake, and we made cupcakes to take to the workers at Burrows. Today didn’t turn out exactly as planned. We had lots of other stuff to do, and we had only a short window of time for cake and pizza this afternoon. Our neighbor makes pizzas and sells them on Fridays, so we have started to have pizza on Fridays. Micah loved his cake, and he did a great job trying to blow out the candles! And it’s so cute when he says (or yells) “Cake!!” With the chaos of the day I forgot the yellow balloons I wanted to decorate with, but I’m pretty sure Micah didn’t mind. He got to open presents from My parents and my Aunt Barb and Aunt Susan and Uncle Mike. He loves opening presents! He got jammies and trucks and cars and airplanes, and books, and puzzles, and more! It was a special time watching him open everything! And he got a climbing wall/slide too, which he loves! He weighs 31 pounds, but again in all the chaos of the day I forgot to measure him, so that will have to happen tomorrow. He’s just such a wonderful blessing! And he’s the cutest little boy ever!
Tonight when he woke up from his nap we went to class in Rock Sound. Micah was very good during class! But during class he drank a whole Vita Malt and had other sugar, so when class was over he went crazy! That sorta made it hard to socialize with the students! It was fun though.

The last few weeks have been rough weeks for us. Up until now this year I haven’t missed a day’s journals, but I haven’t really wanted to write journals lately, so I didn’t.
Here’s a quick update on the lost journal time. We moved into a new house, called Palm Cottage. The team that was here that week was so great! They were encouraging and a huge answer to prayer! Unfortunatly we didn’t get to spend much time with them though because of everything going on with the move. At the end of the week though it was sad to see them leave.
Now back to the present….
Our precious little baby boy turns 2 tomorrow. He’s so big! He thinks he’s three already! The team that was here brought his three movies, Bob the Builder, Gusher, and Tugger which is about a jeep that wanted to fly. For the first time ever Micah sat down and watched the movies all by himself, which was a huge blessing for me as I packed. Each day when he wakes up from his nap now he says “Adi” and points to the TV to watch Tugger. It’s very cute! Then he sits right down on the couch and lays his head down and watches the movie. And, his new game is jumping onto the couch from the very top of the couch. He has so much fun!

First of all, let me just say that I don’t like it when people say “that sucks” or “this sucks!” I don’t know why I don’t like it when people say that, but I think it may come from my mom who would always say that that’s bad to say. Well I don’t think it’s bad to say, but I just don’t like it. With that said, I am at a loss for how to write this week’s journals. To be honest, I just want to write one sentence for each day……….”This day ...!”
As I was laying in bed this morning though, thinking that, a song came into my mind...”This is the day, this is the day, that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made. I will rejoice, I will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it…..” (Psalm 118:24) I was reminded that, even on days when I think the Lord would actually agree with me that “this day ...” He would still be right there with me, carrying me through, giving me all the grace and mercy I need. I think that even on these days, the Lord has given me the gift of a new day, and it wouldn’t be right for me to say “this day ...”, but rather to abide in the Lord and rejoice in the blessing He has given me in this day – another day to love, and serve, and enjoy His creation, and most of all, to worship Him.
Sometimes in life we may feel like God hurt us, or that He isn’t there. I have felt that way this week. I was reminded though of who I KNOW God is. It’s so important to know who God is, because times will come in life when you have to cling to who you KNOW God is, and not how you FEEL about God. I know the character of God, and it’s so comforting to know that God has not changed, He is still loving, kind, faithful, forgiving, merciful, all-powerful, Sovereign, and Holy.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26

We worked all day today....I''m exhausted! We did manage to take a break for a mini birthday party for Micah though! His Grandpa and Grandpa Flunker got him a Thomas Train...he loves it! He puts it on the track himself and turns it on to go round and round!
And we had birthday ice cream instead of cake! By the end Micah had a big ice cream mustache! It was very cute!

We had a fun Sunday today! Ryan preached in Hatchett Bay at Harvest Time, and the team went too. Then thisafternoon Wade and Tammy and the kids and Horatio and Rachelle came over for our second Bahamian Meal! We cooked it this time all by ourselves! It was great! We especially loved the fellowship again!

We spent the afternoon at Club Med today with the team that came in this morning. They are from Waynesville! Ryan and his dad and I went snorkeling for a long time, which was so cool! I touched two snails on a dare, and we saw some beautiful fish! God’s creation is so beautiful! Sometimes I fail to take advantage of it because I’m too scared of things like sharks, but once I do I never regret it!

This morning I went to North to get the mail, then Bitty, Ryan’s mom and I took Tag Tag to the vet and to run some other errands. We grilled hamburgers this afternoon, then we went to Club Med and spent a little time there. We went snorkeling and Micah played in the water for a while. He calls the water “wawee” It’s cute! After the beach we tried to go to a restraint for coconut ice cream, but we couldn’t find it anywhere so we ended up getting vanilla and eating it at home with the pie I made, which was delicious I might add =)

Today we went to a new beach, which turned out to be beautiful! It’s called Papani.
Ryan’s dad has been busy building us shelves and a cabinet, and he’s done a great job! I love the thing’s he’s made for us!
Tonight we went to eat at Rainbow and had ribs, it was yummmmy!

Sad but happy news…Bitty learned how to drink from a normal cup. He’s been practicing for a few weeks, and he’s very good at it! But he never wants to drink from his sippy cup anymore! My little baby is growing up!
We took Ryan’s parents to our cheeseburger place today. It was a beautiful day! It’s gotten hotter though now, which unfortunately means the bugs have come out with a vengeance! But during the day it’s great!

Today was a sad and happy day. My mom left thismorning, and it was so sad for her to have to go! We had such a great visit with her. We miss family so much! But, Ryan’s parents came today too! So that’s exciting! Micah was sad to see Grandma leave, but happy to see the other Grandma and Grandpa come. Inbetween I took a nap and cleaned some.

I was trying to teach Micah his numbers today, but every time I would get to three he would run away screaming! I couldn’t figure out why! Then Ryan said “well every time you have to count to three he gets spanked!” Poor little guy thought I was going to spank him! It was funny though!
Today was mom’s last day here. I took her to the cliffs, which turned out to be harder than I planned. She fell on the rocks and hurt her leg and arms, and face. She’s okay though, but it was sad! This afternoon though I took her to Sky Beach for lunch, which was nice. Then we got to see her pelicans one last time! I will miss her when she’s gone!

Happy Easter! And Happy Birthday to my brother, Jeremy! Today was a super busy, but great day! This morning early Wade and Tammy came over and helped us (taught us how to) prepare a Bahamain meal! It’s the first Bahamian meal I’ve made! We prepped the mac and cheese and cole slaw, and Ryan grilled chicken. Also in the morning, Micah got his Easter Basket! And he hunted for his Easter eggs, which he then threw outside, went and got them from outside, hud them inside, then found them and threw them outside again, and again. =) He got a yellow tractor in his Easter Basket that he loves! And he enjoyed 5 peeps for breakfast =)
After that we headed to church at the Methodist Church in JC for Easter Sunday. I don’t know how I feel about the service. We pretty much spent the whole time keeping Micah as quiet as possible. I sometime wonder why I even go to church! I love Micah, and I love being a mommy, but it would be nice to sit through the Easter Service and actually pay attention.
This afternoon though Wade and Tammy and the kids, and Edney came over for our Bahamian meal. We made peas and rice too, and everything turned out great! It was a fun afternoon of fellowship!

We colored Easter Eggs today! Micah did such a good job! He put each egg in the cup and twirled it around and pulled it out! He especially loved the yellow ones! It was so fun! We went to Navy Beach this afternoon too but we didn’t swim. There were tons of Portugese Man-of-wars all over the beach! It was a beautiful day though!

Good Friday!
We went to Alabaster today to swim for a while. Micah had lots of fun running in the water! Mom tried to snorkel, but there’s not much at that beach.
Tonight we went to a celebration by the cork tree. Mom tried some conch salad, and liked in until Wade showed here how they make it! He showed her how they get it straight from the ocean, pull it out and chop it up! She didn’t like it so much after that! Micah had tons of fun running around with the other kids on the rocks. They yelled at him though once when he knocked down their sand castle, and it hurt his little feelings. It was very sad!
They did the May Pole there too, which I love! And they played “This We Bahamian Praise” over and over and over! I think that song will forever be in my head! And, Norlette and Meka were home, so it was very fun to see them!

Today I ran errands with Ryan while mom watched Micah. We payed bills and picked up the van from the shop, but then it broke down on the side of the road so we had to find the mechanic to fix it again. We had time though to go on a cheeseburger date =)
