Here’s an update on the last few days:

Yesterday was our 5 year anniversary! I am married to the most wonderful man in the whole world! I’m so blessed to be married to my best friend! We actually didn’t get to officially celebrate our anniversary yet, but we had a great day serving together, and I can’t think of a better way to spend our anniversary! We made a Bahamian dinner for 20 people, all the students of the Rock Sound class. Tonight was their last night of class for the summer, so we had a celebration! We spent all day cooking for them, and we were a little nervous about how it would be, but everything tasted great! A few of them even thought that Billy cooked everything, so that means it was great! We had a great time of fellowship with the students! They are such great people! Micah played on the playground for a lot of the time, and for the first time he went down the big slides all by himself, without me catching him even, and he would slide down and run as fast as he could to climb back up and go down again, and again, and again! It was fun to watch him, but I have to admit that it was a little sad to see him growing up so fast. After the dinner I went to a Women’s conference where one of the students, Naphtalie, was the main speaker. She did a great job teaching on the Prayer of Jabez! It was fun to sit through the service and worship with those women! When I got home, after 10:00, Micah was still awake and greeted me with a huge smile! It warmed my heart!

Today I went to Spanish Wells to the doctor, and Ryan cleaned the house and took care of Micah. I love my boys! Our plumeria tree outside is in full bloom right now, and the flowers always fall to the ground, which makes the ground super pretty too, and Micah picks out the prettiest flower and brings it too me and tries to put it behind my ear. Usually he ends up sticking it right in my ear, but it’s cute! Micah has a set of matching books that our pastor in Frisco gave him, with about twenty little books that match with their holder, and Micah matches them all by himself! I am so proud of him! He’s so smart! I just love to sit and watch him figure things out! Tonight we had an extra long story time too. It was a great cuddle time for us! After that Ryan and I watched “Valentine’s Day”. It was a good day!

Today as I laid in bed in the morning, Micah came in, stood next to me, and smiled the biggest cheeser smile ever, then he climbed up on the bed and curled in next to me and pulled the covers up and snuggled in. It was so very sweet! That lasted for about 2 seconds, then he climbed down, and shortly after I heard a sound I wished I wouldn’t hear for a few more years……the door opened, then slammed….Micah learned to open doors by himself! He wasted no time developing his new talent either. I laid there in bed for the next ten minutes listening to door after door open and slam. Every door in our house he opened at least 5 times! So much for containing him in one room! He’s such a big boy! I love him!

Wow, I am just realizing that May is almost over! This past week has been a blur. Micah and I have been sick since Wednesday. I am mostly better, but Micah threw up in the grocery store today. He seems to be feeling energetic when he's awake though, which is good, but he's been sleeping a lot too, and both of us have pretty much lived on a diet of crackers and ginger ale and juice for the last few days. Today was nice though. Ryan had class this week so we didn't get to spend much time together, so today we spent lots of family time. Most of that time was time spent doing nothing, but doing nothing together was nice. We watched movies and went to the store, and sat outside together. It was relaxing, and hopefully I'll be back to my normal self tomorrow with more energy.

Kari and Julie left today. It was very sad to see them go. We had a fun visit with them, especially Micah! He will be asking for Aunt ReRe for a long time I think!

I have loved reading to Micah lately. We still read out of his toddler Bible each night, and he knows when it’s time and says “Bible!” And we talk about Jesus and I love to hear him say “Jesus!” Then when I finish reading and he starts singing “Jesus Loves me” and I sing it to him, and he tries to sing along. It’s very sweet! Then he says “pray!” And we knock on Ryan’s door for him to come pray with us.

“Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise”

I haven’t been writing a ton of journals lately. To be honest, there hasn’t been much that has been good to write about. Life has been hard lately. The move to Palm Cottage has been really hard, and Ryan and I have been trying to have another baby and it’s just not happening, and there are other things too that have just sorta put me in a rut. I have been daily searching Scripture for how to think and act, and to tell you the truth, I haven’t found the answers I have been looking for. I know that the Lord is trying to teach me something, but I don’t know what it is, and I am having trouble being joyful and having passion in ministry. So writing journals isn’t something I really want to do in this particular chapter of life.

But tonight I was doing my Bible study and I read these words…
“streams of mercy, never ceasing call for songs of loudest praise.” Throughout the last few weeks and months I have been faced with challenges and have found myself trying so hard to have a right heart about them all. I long to have a pure heart and be joyful and thankful and have peace and be righteous. I long to have a Christ-like attitude, one of a servant who puts others first and takes the position of humility. But have been none of those things the past few weeks and months. I have daily begged the Lord to help me be all those things, but I have daily failed. And I have daily thanked the Lord for grace and mercy, and begged Him to show me more of His grace and mercy. I realized, that if nothing else, this has put me in the position of knowing that I NEED God. Yes, I always need Him, but I have come to realize even more that without the Lord, I am nothing. I need grace, and I need mercy, and I need love. That realization has brought me to my knees more during the past few weeks than ever. Tonight when I read those words, I realized that “the Lord has daily given me mercy….why am I not praising Him in every way possible?!” His love and mercy are so great that I ought to be shouting it from the rooftops! The Lord certainly is worthy. I have so very much to be thankful for! For starters, I have the BEST family ever! And Ryan’s sister and her friend Julie came here today for a week and a half, and it’s so fun to have them here! Micah is saying so many words now, and he’s learning phrases currently. Today he started to say “big truck” or “big tractor”. It’s very cute! Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, and I have the best mother!!! And I have the incredible blessing of being a mother too! I have to say that I have the BEST kid ever too!

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26

We went on a family date today to Sky Beach and went swimming. We put Micah in his inter-tube floaty thing, which he did NOT like when he couldn’t reach the bottom. He had tons of fun running in the shallow part though! We had a fun time!

We got out the finger paints today for the first time! It was very fun! Micah had a blast! And, I’m not sure I’m proud of this, but one of us (I won’t say which one) was humming “all the single ladies” today, and Micah started singing it! He sang the “oh,oh,oh..oh,oh,oh…” perfectly! It was very funny! Let me just mention here that we are not in the habit of listening to Beonce songs, but they have some cute babies online dancing to it that “one of us” was watching. Anyways, it was very cute!
