Today I got a lot done. It helps to have Ryan home to help me take care of Micah. And tonight we went out to eat with Matt and Sukey and our friend Roger. Micah cried a lot through dinner, and dinner did not agree with my tummy. But other than that it was a good dinner! Micah is smiling more and more everyday, and it's the best thing! It just makes my heart all warm to see him smile! I think that God makes smiles so that the cries don't seem so bad. And He makes smiles so that nomatter what kind of a day Ryan and I are having, good or bad, once Bitty smiles everything else fades away and things are good. Ryan is such a good dad! He takes such good care of Bitty, and he gives me lots of breaks to rest and do other things. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband!

Tonight was our Kindergarten Graduation. I took Micah and he slept through the whole thing! It was a fun evening. It was fun to see my kids again and watch them graduate. It's always a special time. I think back through the year and all that they learned this year. Kids learn so much for the first time in Kindergarten - so many essential things for life. By the end of the year the kids can read, tell time, count coins, knwo their numbers, add, and so many other things that are so important. It's fun to be the one to teach the kids things for the first time. I forget that for a child who has never heard of things and people like George Washington, everything's new and exciting. I'm so proud of my kids! They did a great job in their program too! It was fun to watch them sining and acting.
Other than that I spent the day with Bitty, and calling people about support. And after graduation I came home and cleaned. It's now almost 1:00 am and I finally have the house clean and I'm hopefully going to bed soon. It was a good day. The Lord has really blessed us!

Today is our anniversary! Three years ago we were married! Today I went to school for the Kindergartener's Banana Split party, but I had to leave early because poor Micah had Kindergarten overload and cried and cried. When I got home Ryan took Micah and I got to take a wonderful nap!
It's amazing how much we have learned from our baby! God uses him to teach us so much. Micah loves being put in front of the fan. He throws his hands up! When Micah is crying Ryan and I will hold him, and tell him that he's going to be okay because we have him, but he's so little and he doesn't know that he's okay at that moment, he just knows that he wants to cry. It makes us think of our relationship with the Lord. Sometimes things seem scary or frustrating or hard, but God has us, and He knows that everything's going to be okay, but it's hard to see that sometimes. It's a good reminder to us that God always has us, and He's taking good care of us. He knows what's best for us.

Today we all spent the day at church. Ryan worked and I called people about support all day, and all the women at church had so much fun holding Micah! The staff at church is so wonderful! We had a good day! The best part of the day though was our date! Ryan and i got to go on a date. Tomorrow is our anniversary, and tonight Matt and Sukey watched Micah while we went out. We went to the mall and ate dinner and went to see Indiana Jones. It was a pretty good movie, but kinda wierd - it was about aliens, which is not really what you think of when you think Indiana Jones. I'm not really an "Alien Movie" kinda person. It was so fun to spend time with Ryan though.
It was a great anniversary date!

Happy Memorial Day! It wasn't the best day to tell the truth. Bitty has been so hungry lately which is wearing me out because he wants fed all the time, and he's been more fussy too today. Ryan and I are exhausted and cranky. We went to the mall because I had to pick up my wedding rings that I got resized, and then we went to Khols to look for luggage because ours is broken, and Bitty cried and cried in Khols because he was hungry. We are hoping that he will sleep good tonight.

It's Micah's 1 month Bithday!!!!! I can't believe that he's already a month old! UNfortunatly, him and I are spending his birthday with colds. Let me tell you, it's sooooo sad when your little baby coughs! The poor thing can't breath good at night especially. Today I went to put a onsie on him, and IT WAS TOO SMALL! He's getting so big! Also, today he is just figuring out that he can bounce the bouncy himself, so at the moment he's having fun with that.
One of my favorite things about Bitty is his baby stretches! He is always stretching! And he has major stretches, let me tell you! Ryan and I now love to stretch like him. It's so fun! I think everyone should stretch big stretches when they wake up!
He is sleeping good through the night. He wakes up only to eat, and most nights he goes a 4-5 hour stretch without waking up. Right now though he is so loud sleeping that Ryan and I have a little harder of a time sleeping because he can't breathe too good. He snurgles and coughs all night.
I think I didn't write about Ryan and I's date! When my mom was here Ryan and i got to go out on a date one night! It was great! We hadn't been out together since the baby was born. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, and to the MOvie Iron Man, which was a fun movie! It was wonderful to be able to spend time alone together!

So today my mom left for home and Micah cried all day! He just cried and cried and cried! Ryan worked today and he was still crying when he got home. Of course when Ryan came home he stopped! I was very thankful though that Ryan came home early because I had told him that Micah was crying all day. Ryan had an appointment for his heart today and it went well. His blood pressure is down which is good, and from now on we're just taking it a step at a time. Ryan is just supposed to get checkups every six months. So we're praising the Lord that the appointment went well. We'll miss having my mom here. She was such a help with the baby, and it was great to spend time with her!

Ryan came home today! Sukey and me went to the airport to pick up Ryan and Matt, and it was so great to see them! They had a wonderful trip and I love hearing all about it! i wish I could've gone too! We found out that we're staying in Eleuthera full time! We had been wondering if we would be there or Freeport. We'll get to take our stuff too instead of storing it for the summer, which will be nice. It's hard to believe that it's only 2 months until we'll be moving! Crazy! It's nice to know where we'll be staying though because we can plan more.
It was fun to see all the pictures Ryan took of their trip, and he was excited to see Bitty when he got home! Last night BItty slept good again (Hooray!) so we'll see how tonight goes.

So Bitty has started grabbing things, my hair, my necklace, earrings, shirts, ect. And boy does he have a grip!
Good news also, last night was the second night of project "Get the baby to sleep in his cradle all night" and he did! The first time I put him down he cried for 2 minutes, after the second feeding he cried for 1 minute and the third time he didn't cry at all! Hooray! It was sooo very nice!

Today is Ryan's birthday! He's 27 today! It's so sad that I can't be with him on his birthday! He's in Eleuthera and when i talked to him he said that nobody there knew it was his birthday, so sad!
Today Bitty has a little curl in his hair on his forehead that is soooooooo cute! Unfortunatly, ryan has the camera in Eleuthera!
Last night I decided to try to get get him to sleep in his cradle all night. I read a book that said to give the baby a bath, feed him, swadle him very tightly, and put him down in his cradle and let him cry and not pick him up. It said it would take 3 nights of crying then he would go to sleep without crying anymore. Well, I tried night and he cried all night! From 11-6 he cried! It was so sad! I put headphones on and covered my head with pillows. It was very hard not to pick him up!

Today I got a lot accomplished! Since Kari was here she held the baby a lot while I got things cleaned up a little and had time to take a shower and get the day started. And My mom came today too! I picked her up at the airport thisafternoon after sitting in traffic for a while. It's good to have her back! Ryan worked today since he'll be in Eleuthera soon. I'm glad to have other family here though while he's gone! Micah has been crying all night for the last few nights. He has started to get fussy in the evening and cry forever. He just wants to be held all the time, and unfortunatly for us, we can't hold him all the time! We need to sleep sometime! And he never wants to go in his cradle, he just cries and cries. He's so precious though. He does however love to listen to Ryan tell stories while he walks him around and holds him. Unfortunatly for Ryan though when Micah is crying, nobody can settle him but Ryan, so he ends up being the one up late walking him around and talking to him. The moment he puts him down or leaves or gives him to me, he starts crying again.
We love him though even when he cries!

Today Ryan's parents left early thismorning. Kari is still here though, and we already got to talk to his parents on Skpe tonight when they got home! It's amazing to me that we can be talking to someone face to face one day and see them in another part of the country later the same day! They had a hard time saying goodbye to Micah. Hopefully they'll be able to get more sleep now though! It was fun to have them here! We'll miss the

Another good day! Kari is still here today, and it was a huge help to have her here to watch the baby while I cleaned up everything. And tonight we all made a trip to the mall for some shopping and ice cream! Micah slept the whole time, until he got home and cried and cried. We gave him a bath though and fed him and right at the moment he is fast asleep....so precious!

Today is my first Mother's Day! It was such a wonderful day too! We went to church thismorning, and they had a baby dedication in church and we dedicated Micah! It was so very special! He is the most precious gift from the Lord!
After church we went to the park and took some family pictures, and then we went to lunch at arby's and headed home to relax and take naps. I sure needed a nap! Tonight we cooked out and had a fun dinner together outside in the beautiful weather.
I meant to write a funny thing the other day....it was a night when Micah cried all night. He would cry and cry in the same pattern, and we had our window open, and in the early morning when he finally stopped crying, there was a Mockingbird outside and the mockingbird was mocking Micah's cry! It was very funny, but at the time it was a little sad because we had fainlly got Micah to stop crying and we still had to put up with thte bird! Very funny!
It was a good day! It will be sad for Ryan's mom and dad to leave tomorrow!

Today was the best day! It was so perfect! This morning Ryan graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary....finally! He has been working so hard for the last four years, and I am sooooooo proud of him!!!! I'm just so very proud! Graduation was great! Ryan was so handsome in his suit and his cap and gown! And Micah was all dressed up in a little suit with a vest matching his daddy! It was so cute! I cried as Ryan walked across the stage! I'm just so proud! I can't say that enough!
After graduation we picked up Kari at the airport and we all went for lunch. And the rest of the day was a fun day of relaxation and playing on campus. They played football and Ryan's mom attempted to fly a kite. It was perfect weather again and just a perfect day! All day I was thanking the Lord for the moments, with family there and Ryan's heart being good, and little Bitty! The Lord has just given us so very much that we don't deserve! I'm so thankful! Sooo thankful! God has lead us in life to this place, to Dallas, with a new little family, and so many blessings! We're so excited to go to Eleuthera and start the next stage of our life, and it's a blessing to be able to look back on this stage and see how the Lord has worked in our lives and challenged us and taught us and loved us.

Tonight there was a BBQ on campus for the graduates. I have wanted to go the the BBQ for the last four years, and finally Ryan is graduating so we get to go! We had fun at dinner. We got to show Micah off to everyone and we went for a walk around campus with him. What a wonderful evening! The weather was perfect! Tomorrow is a big day!

Last night was the first night in a long time that Ryan and I got to sleep in the same bed! We put Bitty (that's what I call Micah a lot, and Ryan calls him Itty or Buster) in the cradle in our room, and he did great! We didn't go to bed until around 3, but then when we finally did Micah slept well in his cradle and we got some sleep. We are blessed with a wonderful little baby! Today was a long day for Bitty though. We had to take him to the doctor and they had to take blood from his heels. They had to prick him with the needle twice too to get enough blood. I'm pretty sure it was harder on me than him though. He didn't cry for too long though. But he slept a lot after that. And if that wasn't enough trauma for one day for the little guy, we gave him a bath too which he didn't like. We was out after that! He was sound asleep! Poor little guy! I am hoping that he will sleep good tonight since he had a long day.
Ryan's heart has been so good! Praise the Lord! The Lord answers prayers! Psalm 103 is my favorite Psalm, I just can't keep from repeating the first lines of it "Praise the Lord, Oh my sould, all my inmost being, praise His Holy name! Praise the Lord, oh my soul!" The Lord is just so good to us! He is compassionate, gracious, merciful, forgiving, and so much more! We're so blessed!

Today was my first official day alone with Micah. Ryan had to work today, so that left me home with the baby. It went very well! I thought it would be hard (I'm sure there will be hard days) but it turned out to be fun. Micah was very well behaved! I got laundry and dishes done, and spent time with Micah. Ryan did come home a little early than normal though which I appreciated, and since we had no food he got us dinner from Jack in the Box.

Cinco De Mayo, 2008
Well, I Have not really been able to write journals for a while, which is not good! I don’t want to forget all the wonderful things from the last week! Micah is now almost two weeks old! I can’t believe it! He’s getting bigger! He’s so very cute! My dad and mom left Wednesday of last week, and from then on it was just Ryan and I. For all of us the nights started out pretty good, Micah would sleep at night and even for a few wxtra hours in the middle of the night. Well, now that time has passed and he no longer sleeps in the night time. He doesn’t ever want to go in his cradle! He just always wants to be held! Last night we tried to let him cry it out, but it didn’t work. I think we’ll be holding him for at least a while longer. He did have a fun game (at least I think it was fun for HIM!) I went to change his diaper and AS SOON as I put on the clean one he pooped again! I knew though that his poops usually come in shifts, so I waited to change him again. Instead I rocked him for a while, and nothing! So I thought that maybe this time he was done, so I changed him again, and AGAIN – HE POOPED RIGHT WHEN I GOT THE CLEAN DIAPER ON – I’M TALKING NOT EVEN TWO SECONDS LATER! He thought it was funny I’m sure. And today when I burped him, he spit up, a lot, and he completely missed the huge burp cloth on my shoulder and instead turned at the last second and spit up right down my shirt! It was very funny! He’s so wonderful! Even when he cries through the night he’s wonderful.
He got to take his first bath in the bathtub last Friday too. He was so very cute! He did not like his bath though. He cried and cried! It was very traumatic for him, and when it was all over I cuddled him all up and his little eyes were so wide, I think he was afraid that he would have to have a bath again. I felt so bad for him. He’s so little and even a bath is a huge deal for him.
Today I put him down for some tummy time and he almost rolled over! His legs are very strong but his arms aren’t quite strong enough yet, so it was pretty much his bottom half rolling and his upper half staying put. This is okay with me though because I can wait for him to be able to roll over.
Last Thursday night we took Micah t o church to see the staff, and then we took him to small group. It was such a fun small group! Everyone’s kids were there together playing! We took a picture of all of them together. And I gave Micah a bottle at small group too, his first one. He did pretty good for the first try I think. He drank about an ounce and a half only, but it was a good try.
Ryan has been reading me a book, which is a really good book, but last week there was a chapter about how a family had to put their dog to sleep because it was sick, and the chapter was SO VERY SAD! Ryan and I both cried all the way through the chapter! We laughed because we were crying at a book together, but as woon as he started reading again we would cry! I love it when Ryan and I get to read together! It’s been nice having Ryan home a little extra.
Which brings us to another WONDERFUL thing that happened this past week! Ryan finished his last class and turned in his last paper of seminary! !!! Yeah! He was so excited! My mom and dad were still here and they bought him a cake to celebrate! I’m so proud of all the work he has done the last four years! Believe me, it’s been a lot of work! I can’t tell you the number of times that he has been so stressed out with papers and homework and everything at once! He finished though with a 3.7 grade point average! Again, I’m just so proud of him! It’s been nice for him too because now that seminary is over he has more time to spend with me and Micah, and read books that he wants to read instead of ones that he has to read. And he can focus more on websites that he’s building and other stuff. It’s very exciting! Well, that’s what’s going on right now. I am going to try my best to write journals each day from now on. Today was the first day that we did laundry and the dishes since my parents left. Maybe someday life will be normal again, or at least a little more structured. Until then, we marvel at the goodness of the Lord and praise Him! He is worthy of so much more than we could ever offer!
