Today was a fun filled day! It was a beautiful day! We slept in thismornign and then we went on a day cruise. It was great weather and just so beautiful! We saw sea lions, 3 whales, puffins, sea otters, and my favorite was the porpuses! They raced our boat for a while and they were soooo cool! The mountains were beautiful and we saw glaciers too. Then we went on a hike to a glacier that was so cool! Micah had such a fun day! It was a little chilly outside, but Micah was toasty warm. I continue to be amazed at the beauty of the Lord's creation and goodness to us! Today was a great day! Perfect! IT's now 10:30 at night, and still bright as ever outside. We are cooking out for a late dinner though, but I'm really sleepy!

Today we drove south to a town called Seward. We left this afternoon, and while it would only be a few hours to get there, it took us more because we made lots of stops. Alaska is just so beautiful! we stopped for lots of pictures, and to feed the baby. We saw mountain goats on the way here! And when we got here Ryan and Jesse went fishing. They didn't catch anything but the tackle box that Jesse lost from a big wave. It was funny. Then we had dinner together and headed back to our hotel, which is like a log cabin. It's a great place! THey even had a paper on our door when we got here that said "Welcome Fredricks and Friends!" What a friendly place!

This morning Ryan and I went on a little walk to a coffee shop and Bitty and I went to a park to watch the planes take off and land. Bitty slept the whole tim! I took a short nap today too, but then I figured I should get up because we were in Alaska and I don't want to miss anything!

We went into town, Anchorage, tonight to some shops and walked around. We had a reindeer hotdog that was so tasty and we put poor Bitty in a cabbage to take his picture and he rolled over in the dirt on his face! It was very sad! The flowers here are beautiful! Again the Good Lord gave us a wonderful day! It stays light here from 3am to 11pm, so our time is off by a little and it's 3 hours behind. Right now it's 10pm (1:00am in Dallas) and the sun is shining - crazy!!

Today started very early for us! I went to bed last night around 1:00am and then fed the baby at 2:30, and woke up at 4:00 for the day! Not a whole lot of sleep! We drove to the airport early and two flights later we arrived in Alaska! It is beautiful her! The flights were great - Micah did perfect again too! We stopped in Seattle on our way and go to fly past the mountains; they were amazing!

I was so amazed at the glory of the Lord that He made such a magnificent beautiful creation. I looked at those beautiful mountains and just praised the Lord, but then I looked down at the little boy in my arms and thought about how much more amazing he is than the mountains even! God's best creation on earth is laying in my arms. It made me think about God's love for us. He love us! He created us! He gave Ryan and I such a precious little miracle in Micah that is so much more breathtaking than anything else in creation.

When we got to Alaska Ryan's college roommate Jesse was there to pick us up. It was good to see him again! We went to visit is wife at work and tonight we rested and enjoyed our time of fellowship. I'm just amazed at the goodness of the Lord! He has blessed us far beyond what we deserve!

Today is Micah's 2 month birthday! Hooray!

Yesterday our friends Robert and Natalie took Micah for the afternoon and night. Ryan and I got to go on a date, and we slept through the night! It was so nice! We went to see Get Smart, which I wouldn't really recommend but there were some funny parts. And we went out for our last steak dinner. They don't have steak like that in Eleuthera! We had a very fun day! And today Natalie brought Micah back in the morning to Ryan at work and I had the day to work and get everything done I needed to get done. I got lots accomplished! We did miss Micah very much though! OUr first night away from him! He did well though. But tonight he's not wanting to eat. It's frustrating.

I used to think understand why parents would think their kids were so cute when they would stick there lower lip out when they want something, but let me tell you, when Bitty is sad and his little bottom lip sticks out, it's soooo sad and I would do just about anything to make him happy again! He'e so cute when he does that! It melts my heart!

We have spent the last three days up in Frisco. Thursday Bitty and I went to work with Ryan and we all went to Small Group at Tin Star that night. Friday was our friend Natalie's birthday! Happy Birthday Natalie! Our small group is so wonderful!

Friday we had planned to take the day off and spend it at home but Ryan got called into work because they needed someone to run the computer for calling for a funeral so we all went back up to Frisco for the evening. We also took a family picture while we were at church that will go on our prayer cards.

Today we went up for the funeral and I went and exchanged our stroller to Babies R Us because the front wheel was making it shake really bad and poor Bitty was always getting all shaken, and it wasn't good. They gave us a new stroller without even a receipt! They were very nice about it, but it was stressful because Bitty was hungry and crying.

On our way home today there was a truck in front of us and it had a refridgerator in the back and it fell right off in front of us! It crashed down and pieces went flying towards us. As I braced myself for impact Ryan swerved around all the pieces in a split second! The Lord sure did have His hand on us at that moment! Both of us were sure we would hit the fridge! God takes such good care of us! It was scary to see a fridge fall off the back of a truck going 70 miles and hour! Bitty slept through it all I think. He's such a good baby. We love him!

Today Ryan was home and we played frisbee in the "park" across the street! It was very fun! Bitty is a little kicker! He has so much fun just kicking and kicking! I lay him on his back and sing to him and he just kicks and smiles!

Today was a long day, but it was okay. Micah didn't sleep well last night. He got up to eat every three hours and once he didn't want to go back to sleep. Today he didn't cry too much, but he wanted to be held all day. He didn't really take naps and every time I tried to put him in his crib or the swing or anything he cried. I have to say though that even though it was hard to get work done, it was nice to be needed, to have him want me to hold him. He's such a sweet little baby. I just love his smiles!

Ryan's first Father's Day! He was beaming proud all day! Bitty got him a wallet and a frisbee for Fathers Day and he got a fishing pole too! Church was fun thismorning because it was Family Day and we sang fun kids songs! I put Bitty in the nursery again and wanted to check on him the whole time but I didn't. I knew he was in good hands. We ate lunch at the mall and RYan got ice cream for Father's Day. Then we came home and relaxed. It was a good day! Ryan is such a GREAT DAD! It was a special day for him!

Happy Father's Day too my dad and Ryan's dad too! The Lord sure has blessed us with great dads!

We made it home. This morning we drove to Green Bay and when we got to the airport thinking our plane was leaving at 12:50 we found out it actaully flew out at 2:45! So we had extra time and went to see Kari's work at UWGB. It was fun to see her again and spend a few extra hours with the family. Micah did great again on the flights home! He's such a good traveler! Now we're home and exhausted! Praise the Lord for safe travels again! He takes such good care of us!

Another great day! Today was a big day for Micah! He got to ride on a tractor and a boat! And he got to see a porcupine! We went to the cabin too for a while today. The ticks weren't my favorite part, but it was still fun. Tonight we went out on Lake Emily! That's my favorite lake =) The Lord has just given us such a wonderful trip! I am always amazed at the beauty of God's creation! I need to see it more often I think! It will be hard to leave tomorrow.

I love waking up in Wisconsin! The room we stay in is Ryan's old room and there is a skylight so the sun shines through inthe morning! Ryan was fishing early with his dad this morning already. We didn't do a whole lot today which was nice after the long day yesterday. We had pizza for dinner which made me sick, but even when I didn't feel good it was just nice to be there. We got to see lot of deer too! There were lots playing in the yard even! I think they were playing tag! Kari drove up tonight to see us too!

It was funny tonight because when we put Bitty to bet and turned his sound machine on with crickets and it stopped, we heard real crickets outside! It was funny, and so nice to hear real nature instead of sirens and cars out the window. Ryan's mom and I and Bitty went on a walk too. What a wonderful day!

We made it to Wisconsin! Today was a long day! But a fun day! Micah did soooooo good on the plane rides! He cried a little in Dallas Airport, but never on the planes! He pretty much just slept the whole time! When we got to Wisconsin Ryan's family was there waiting! And we made our way over to Aunt Colleen's house for a family reunion so everyone could see Micah. There was lots of family there! It was fun to see everyone! They just loved Micah! He was good for them too and didn't cry too much! HIs great grandma especially loved holding him! After that we drove from Green Bay to Florence. It was a little longer of a trip than expected because Micah cried and had some trouble, but he did so good all day so he needed a good cry I think. It was a long day for him! HIs first time on an airplane!

Today my Aunt Susan and Uncle Mike visited again! They had gone to Austin and were making their way back to Dallas airport and they stopped by to see us again. It was fun to visit with them if even for an hour or so. The rest of my day was filled with errands and I went to the dermatologist too. Micah cried a lot at my appointment but the nurses had so much fun holding him which made it a little better.

So, update on the last week......I've been bad at writing journals this week.

Micah had a bit of a rough week. For some reason he didn't eat very well all week. He would only eat each time for about 5-10 mintues and then just scream and scream. I took him to the doctor Saturday morning and they gave him some medicine for reflux. So now we are testing to see if it helps. He has eaten better the last two days, which is good, but tonight at the moment actually he's very fussy. So we'll see. He weighed 13 pounds and 9 ounces yesterday! He's getting so big! He moved up to the next size diaper this week and he has more and more clothes that he can't wear.
This weekend was fun because my Aunt Susan and Uncle Mike visited from North Carolina! We love having family visit! It was fun to spend time with them and show them a little of Dallas. We went to La Hacienda Friday night to meet Ryan because he had to work. We like to take visitors there for dinner when they come. And yesterday we all went to the Arboretum and to see the Sixth Floor Museum. Then we played cards and Monopoly last night together. They left early this morning and we already can't wait until we see them again!

Today was a sad day for Ryan and I because our friends Matt and Sukey left for the summer and we will be gone when they come back. We will miss them so much! We saw them off at the airport thisafternoon. They are such wonderful friends! They are an answer to prayer for us as they are our best friends here. We pray that the Lord will cross our paths again someday in ministry, and we're looking forward to visits!

Ryan played guitar and sang in church thismorning too! He did such a good job! He sang the song "You Said" with the band. I love that song! It talks about the mission of God in that the WHOLE WOLRD will worship Him. There is a line that says "Ask and I'll give the nations to you, oh Lord, that's the cry of my heart. Distant shores and the islands will see, Your love as it rises in me....." Once I was talking to someone in college about what I wanted to do with my life. He asked me "what makes your heart beat a little faster when you think and talk about it?" I have to say that that song makes my heart beat faster, that the Lord would use me to share His love with the nations, and for us specifically, the islands.

Micah laughed for the first time today! It was very fun! It was just the best thing! And it's funny because yesterday Ryan and I were listening to the radio, NPR, (on a side note, I usually think NPR is super boring but Ryan likes it, but yesterday they had a part about laughing that was funny) anyways....they were talking about laughing and how Aristotle thought that humans didn't become human beings until they laugh for the first time. Now, of course that's crazy, BUT, he also concluded that all people laugh for the first time when they are 40 days old. I'm guessing that that's not true either, but today Micha happens to be 40 days old and he laughed for the first time today! Coinsidence??? Probably, but I think it's fun.

Today Micah also went to his first Major League Baseball Game! The Rangers played the Indians tonight and we went. Micah did so good! Ryan and I had fun taking him to the game! It was funny because Ryan got up to get a hot dog and while he was gone someone hit a grand slam! When he got back he said "so did I miss anything??" everyone laughed at that.

June 1, 2008
The first day of June turned out to be a rough one for me. I was excited to go to church thismorning, but as soon as we got there thismorning Micah started crying and didn't quit for several hours. He then cried on and off the whole day! I attempted to do some shopping, only to carry around a screaming baby and I gave up eventually. Do you know that when your baby is crying, EVERY person that walks past you says "poor baby!" This is code for "why can't you shut your kid up?" Then a lot of them give me their opinion on why he's crying, like they know. I thought that maybe at least if I try to shop at Babies R Us that maybe Micah wouldn't be the only one crying and it would be better, but as it turns out, even if he's not the only baby crying, it's still frustrating! Ryan had a good day at work though which makes me happy, and he was in a better mood, although we are now both exhausted. Ryan's already asleep, and he usually is up really late. I just put Micah to sleep, and I am praying that he sleeps a while, but he didn't eat much so my guess is that he's going to wake up hungry again soon and then fall asleep eating, then he will wake up hungry again soon after that, and the cycle will continue the whole night.

Even with the hard days like today though, Micah is so wonderful. The very few times when he wasn't crying today he had bright beautiful eyes and he even smiled a few times. He's such a precious little boy, still so little. He's a wonderful gift from the Lord!
