Ryan took Micah thismorning and let me sleep in, which was sooo wonderful! He even cleaned up from last night! Our car is broken, so we took it to a friend here who has a shop to fix. Actually though now that we know what's wrong we're going to get the part we need when we go back to the States (everything here is SUPER expensive and even more if you have to have it flown in) and he's going to fix it himself. We're thinking there may be a leak in our cistern, so Ryan spent some of today investigating that.
And, so fun....I decorated for Christmas today! Hooray! I put up the tree, and it's beautiful! I love Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful day! It started out bright and early. I made pies and cranberyy salad while watching the Macy's THanksgiving Day Parade! We got to talk to family too which made the day special! Ryan made the turkey which turned out great! And our friends the Foxes and the Thompsons came over for dinner tonight. Dinner was wonderful! Again thanks to the GAs at our Frisco church in Texas for providing the majority of our dinner! I made pumpkin and berry pies, which both turned out great! Hooray! Ironically, after we were all done eating and went to wash the many many dishes, the water wouldn't work!!!!! Evidentally our cistern went dry! We have no idea how because our cistern is huge! Ryan and the guys figured out how to turn on our city water though and the rest of the evening was great watching The Incredibles and eating pie!
What a wonderful Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for this year! The Lord has blessed us ABUNDANTLY!!!!! Ryan and I agree that Micah is on the top of our most thankful list for this year! He is such a blessing! It was fun to have his first Thanksgiving! He was out by the time dinner started though, he's a little sleeper =)

Today I went to the school and read a Thanksgiving story to the kids. They had no idea who the pilgrims were, or anything about turkeys or snow, so I had to explain everything. I forget sometimes that the kids here don't learn about those things! We made turkey handprints with glued on feathers, it was fun. I'm very excited for Thanksgiving tomorrow! I am making little turkey placecards for the table. =)

Tonight I had Bible Study with my girls. We celebrated Thanksgiving and played games. It was fun! Other than that I went grocery shopping, and cleaned up some, and that's about it. Oh, and I also took Micah to the beach to take some picture, which are very cute! He had fun eating the sand. It was a beautiful day today! There are more tourists here now that it's cold up north. It felt good though when a person that lived here was talking to a tourist and she refered to us as "locals". I guess that means we're officially locals now that a local called us that! Hooray!

It's been a busy weekend! Thursday our dear friends, Paul and Lisa Voss, arrived on the island, and we got to spend a few days with them. Our time was very special! Unfortunatly their trip was actually for a funeral though. Bishop Spence Pinder, a graduate of the Bible Training Center and president of the CMA Bahamian Board passed away this week. He was a wonderful man who was loved by so many people here and had given his life to serve the Lord. We attended his memorial service Friday night, and Ryan went to the funeral yesterday. Funerals and special services here last several hours, so Fridya night we had a friend babysit Micah and Sunday I stayed home with him. Our time with Paul and Lisa was wonderful though and very encouraging. It was Lisa's first time seeing Micah!
Saturday was a fun day. We went to Tristan's two year old birthday party in the morning. It was fun to watch all the kids play. We put Micah in the grass for the first time. There's not a lot of grass here, and usually the grass you do find, like our's is super scratchy and not good to walk or sit on. He had fun in the grass though!
Also we went fishing Saturday and Ryan caught four fish, and I caught one! Hooray! It was fun!
Another fun thing in my week, I finally finished my first curtains! Ryan is going to put a picture, I'm very proud of them! I have never made curtains before! Micah's room is the only one without blinds, and the sun comes in strong in the morning, so his got made first. I had a lot of fun making them! I have lots more to go now...I'm hoping to get one curtain done each week, and buy a few when we get to the States in a few weeks.

I cleaned most of the day today. It was a good day though! Thismorning we went and picked up our mail from the airport and we got a box! It made me so happy to get it! The GAs from our church in Texas sent us a box of Thanksgiving goodies! It was soooo great! Now we have things for Thanksgiving! They sent everything we need but the turkey! It's just so encouraging to know that they are thinking of us and praying for us! It made my day!
Tonight Ryan and I went on a date too! There's one movie theatre on the island and they play one movie everyt two weeks each night one time. This week's movie is Eagle Eye. It was a good movie, but I thought it was scary. i was clinging to Ryan the whole time! Our friends watched Micah who slep thte whole time. The stars are beautiful tonight, and it's only 66 degress, which is very nice! What a good day!

I think I forgot yesterday to write the best news of the day! Micah learned how to crawl! He has been half crawling for a long time, but yesterday he saw a kitten and he thought it was the best thing ever, and he went straight for it! It was so cute!
Today was a good day. Ryan took Micah while I slept in, and then I did some house work, made some curtains, and tonight we went over to our friends' house. They grilled us steaks! It was WONDERFUL! And we went fishing too at their house. We didn't catch anything, but it was fun!

I should be in bed................I'm very sleepy! Thismorning at 6:30 Ryan and I went for a walk with Micah. He wakes up way too eary now! It was a fun walk though.
There are tons of purple flowers on Eleuthera! They are very pretty, and there are lots of different kinds! On our walk we always pass a spider whom we named Scary Larry. He is a very scary spider! Yesterday we discovered that Scary Larry has a baby. Ryan named the baby Flipper. Sometime I'll take a picture of them.
Tonight we got to see the Space Shuttle rocket launch in the sky! It launched in Florida and we went outside to see it. It was fun to watch it!
I read in the school today and Ryan worked at the training center then we went to a camp here so Ryan could fix their internet. He's the island computer fixer! He does a great job!
Ok, off to bed.

Our internet has been down for a few days, which is very frustrating! Especially for Ryan!
Micah is going to bed early now, around 6:30, and going to bed around 7:00 each night too. He's also semi-crawling. He crawls kinda like a caterpillar. He definitly makes his way across the room when i set him down! He keeps me busy!
I've been busy and Ryan took the baby for a while today and let me sleep. I took a loooong nap. It was wonderful! There was something else I was going to write, but I forget...............

This weekend was good. Ryan and I rested a lot. It was a busy week for both of us! I think there's something wrong with Micah's ear. He keeps pulling at it, and he wakes up a lot at night each night. He might have an ear infection. He doesn't have a temperature though which is good, and he's not super cranky, so we'll see. Today Ryan worked on things around the training center and did some things for church. Now we're going to watch a movie =)

Part 1
This is my formal apology to my mom.......
All growing up she would get so mad at me for walking through her dirt when she was trying to sweep the floor. I'm pretty sure she couldn't wait until I had kids for them to walk through my dirt. Well, I was trying to sweep today and Micah kept walking through my dirt the whole time! Mom, I am sorry for walking through your dirt all those times......=)
I have a wonderful mom! I hope to be a mom like her!
Oh no, as I am writing this Micah is pulling the books off the shelf and slobbering all over them!..I better go...more to come later....

I spent the whole day cleaning our house and more of the training center. Alicia and I tried to clean as our babies screamed. It was rough.....Tonight I'm staying at her house though. Ryan hasn't been home all week, but he comes home tomorrow! He's been in Freeport, and it's not fun without him here. Tonight Alicia and I are going watch the Office though.

I have been cleaning all day. I finished up some things at the training center, dishes and laundry. It's a scary thing taking laundry off the line here. You never know what may crawl out at you. I have heard of people taking down scorpions and tarantulas off the line accidentally with their laundry. In today's case though it wasn't so much of a "crawl out at me" as it was "jump out at me!" There was a lizard one a towel and it jumped right on me and scurried down me and onto the groud, meanwhile I jumped too! It was funny!
I also walked to the school today to read to the kids. Now it's on to more cleaning..........maybe I'll rest a little first.....

Tonight they are having a parade (a literal one) here because Obama won. Everyone here wanted him to win!
Tonight we had Bible Study. We did a service project together, which was cleaning the training center. We had a lot of fun and I got some good time with the girls to just talk. They were vary curious and asked a lot of questions about random things. We also made our own ice cream!
I had the best time with Micah today laughing together! I love his laugh! We also went for a playdate with Alicia's kids and Norlette, a Bahamian friend's little girl. The kids had fun playing, but I think Micah wished he could run around with the 2 year olds!

Today wasn't so much a free day. Our house was a mess after yesterday and I spent the whole day cleaning and running errands. It's been a very busy day, but tonight Ryan and I got to watch a movie together and I made a pizza.
