Have you ever really looked at a sand dollar? You should if you haven't.
Today in chapel for Kindergarten I taught them about the sand dollar, and about how God created things so perfectly, and that He made things to bring glory to Himself. I think God had fun making the sand dollar. If you look at the front, it has five holes, a flower, and a star. If you look on the back, it has a poinsetta, and if you break it open, you find five small doves.
It's amazing how God hand-crafts each one. They're beautiful, and they tell us so much about God. He loves it when we find beauty in the small things I think. I would encourage you all to take time to look at the beauty in the small things, God put them there for you to enjoy, that you can praise Him.

Well, it's Zoo week, and Monkey Day in Kindergarten today. You can definilty tell! My kids were crazy! You would think at times that they actually were monkeys! I love them though, and it was a fun day. We got to read Curious George and eat bananas and make a monkey craft. Today is also my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! It was nice to get to talk to her today.
And, Ryan's sister Kari visited for a few hours today on her way to Florida and Ryan got to show her a little bit of Dallas. He had so much fun with her! I didn't get to see her because of work, but I hear they had a great time! It made his day!

Another wonderful day! Church was great today! One of my favorite parts of Sundays is riding with Ryan to church. Our church is an hour away, so we have a long time to drive there and back. It's wonderful just to drive with him. Some Sunday mornings there are hot air baloons, and we get to drive past fields and cows. It's great to have an hours to talk, or just sit and be together. God is so good to us!

Today is such a wonderful day! Thismorning we went to a Teacher Store to get a notepad, and then we went to the Family Christian Bookstore, and then we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch. In case you have never been to Chick-fil-a, they have the best chicken sandwiches! It's my favorite! It was a fun little date for us! Then we came home and Ryan worked on, and almost finished his big paper. He just has to proof it and it will be finished! Another things checked off of his list! Yeah! It's another beautiful day here, so we went out to our "park" (the grass across the
street) and played baseball and took a walk. The perfect spring day!

Today was such a fun day! Kindergarten went great today! I was super busy all day, but my busyness is fun, so I don't mind! Tonight we babysat for our neighbors. It was so fun too! We have great neighbors on our floor!
Great news, it's warming up a little! Today was a beautiful day! And, Ryan's exam is over! Yeah! And he thinks he did good on it, which is such a praise and a burden lifted for him!
Don't forget, my mom's birthday is Monday, for those of you who don't know. Send her a Happy Birthday wish! She's a great mom! And my Aunt Barbara's birthday is Tuesday too! What a great week it will be!

Just so you know, I am writing this in frustration because I just wrote a wonderful journal, and my computer crashed just as I finished!!!!!!!!!!
Now that I have that out of the way.....today was a wonderful day! My favorite part of the day was listening to one of my Kindergarteners tell me a story of how yesterday her parents accidentally got the times mixzed up and they left her at home alone. She got scared and called 911. They said they'd send someone over, and they asked her if she wanted them to stay on the line. Of course, being the talker that she is, she said yes, and I'm sure they got to hear all about her day and everything exciting that is going on in her life! They probably found it very amusing! Just as her mom pulled in the driveway, so did the police. The poilce on the hone asked to talk to her mom, I'm sure she was very embarassed! When the little girl finished her story, she concluded with "then my brother taught me the if I'm ever left home alone I should call my dad on his cell phone, and then call grandma if hes not there, and THEN call the police!" I laughed and laughed!
She's the most wonderful girl! I get to hear everything that happens on her life. She has new stories to tell every day!
For those of you who have ever listened to the radio station KLTY, you will be happy to know that the Money Man visited Ryan's work today and he got to meet him! A woman in his office won $100! It was pretty exciting for them all! So he had a good day too! Now he's studying away. He's so very studious!

Well, it's been a couple of days since I last wrote a journal. I'll try to be better at that! Spring Break has officially ended, which is sad, but it's been a pretty good week so far. Yesterday was a good day, I got to see my Kidnergartener's again, and I got free kid's books, so that always brightens my day! We got to go for a walk yesterday, it was a wonderful evening outside! But last night was not so fun for us. Our apartment is in a corner, and the wind was so very loud last night that it kept us both up most of the night. It sounded like a tornado was going to hit all night.
This morning we woke and walked out into the sunshine. It reminds me that even though the night may sometimes seem long, the sun will shine in the morning. The windy night won't last forever!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I actually forgot that it was holiday until half way through the day. I had a fun day today. I went to the grocery store and I sent away for my passport. I got to go in our truck too, which is the exciting part! I don't often get to drive the truck, but I love it when I get to! And, here's the really exciting part, (for me at least) I parallel parked it perfectly! I have not been very good at even parallel parking the car up until this point, but I did so good today! So that was a major accomplishment for me! Other than that, today was another relaxing day. I am happy to announce that I am feeling better, but sad to announce that Ryan is still a little sick, so keep praying for him.

Well, it's been a super busy week! We are back safely from Chatanooga. It was a great trip! It was a very encouraging meeting with the board of the CMA Monday night. Now we are waiting for their response, and Lord willing, we will soon be official missionaries! The Lord always teaches me to wait patiently for things like this, it's hard for me. But we're both very excited! You can read more out the meeting on the home page.
Today is a quiet day for me. I am just home getting a lot of work done around the house.
It's wonderful to be on break!

I have to admit, today wasn't the best day. It was the last day before Spring Break, so my Kindergarteners were super crazy, and I was super cranky. I was really busy all day finishing things that had to be done before break.
But now I can finally say..."I'm on Spring Break!" Yeah! It's very
exciting! I needed a rest, even though I love teaching.
Yesterday Ryan got home a little later than me, with tulips and daffodills in his hands for me! It was so great! He really is the best husband! Our apartment is so very Springy now! It makes me happy!
I would encourage you all to buy fresh spring flowers to put in your houses.
They remind me of how much God loves me, that He would give me simple things daily, like flowers, just to make me smile.

It's storming out right now. We love to watch storms out our window and listen to the rain! God's creation is amazing! Today was a good day. Ryan got lots done. He finished our ministry goals paper that we are sending to the board of the CMA for our meeting Monday. He's busy working on our website now.
Today in Kindergarten we got a new student! My kids love having a new kid in class. He's from Taiwan, and he doesn't speak much English, so we're trying to teach him. He's great! I also got to wear jeans today to school, which made my day! Usually I have to wear a skirt. It's the little things in life that make me happy!
God has been so very good to Ryan and I. He has blesses us beyond what we ever imagined! We are so thankful! If you have a spare moment, think about all the blessings God has given you, and praise Him! He has given us so much!

Today was a great day. Tonight we are babysitting for our neighbors. They have two babies. My favorite part of the day was watching Ryan holding the crying baby, and watching his face as he finally got the baby to sleep.
Ryan is going to be a great father some day!
Interjection from Ryan: Personally I find these insights from my wife to give an overly too “sensitive” nature to my character. The truth is I enjoy very macho manly things as well: chainsaws, biting my nails, changing the vehicle’s oil, and passing gas. And I would also like to stress the “some day” time frame for when I will become a father – sorry Grace and Karolyn. Ok, back to Emily’s thoughts…
I loved watching him hold the babies and love them.
Along those lines, for all of you who met Tammy, from the Bahamas who was at our wedding, she had a baby in February! I can't wait to see the baby!
They are waiting to have the baby dedicated until me and Ryan can be there for it. We're very excited!

Kindergarten is very fun! My kids make me laugh all the time! One of my kids brings ranch dressing everyday for lunch to dip his carrots in, and everyday, he spills his ranch dressing, on the floor or the wall or himslef, or me. How does he do this everyday? I have no idea! Today instead of throwing his trash away, he simply put it all back in his lunch box, including his ranch dressing, without a lid on it. Then he picked up his lunch box and twirled it all around. I noticed this and opened his lunch box only to find it covered in ranch dressing. You would think this would make me angry, but after so many ranch dressing episodes, I simply smiled and told him he needed to clean it. What do you do?
Next week is our meeting with the board of the Caribbean Minstries Association. We are very excited, but a little nervous at the same time.
All that we want everyday is to be missionaries. We both feel so called to serve over seas in the Bahamas. Please pray that it goes well, and that God would calm our hearts to knwo that He will lead us and guide us to where He wants us to serve. Please also pray that we will be faithful here where He has us right now and that He would be preparing us for furture ministry.

Today was a great day! In church we are studying the names of God. It's so cool to see His Character depicted in His names. We got to come home thisafternoon and relax, and got all my weekend goals accomplished. I also got to talk to my mom for a few minutes, which was fun! Tonight we watched Zorro! It makes me want to talk in a spanish accent!

I love to sleep in! It's such a blessing! I love being all warm and cuddled up. Saturdays are the best cuddle days! Today I cleaned the apartment, washed the dishes 3 times, went to the bank, and took a nap. It was wonderful! I try to appreciate the comfort I have now, because in Eleuthera they have huge cockroaches. One night there was one crawling on me in bed! Not fun!

Yesterday was a very special day! Our new niece entered the world yesterday! Her name is Maggie! We also had another friend who had a baby yesterday! Rebecca and Craig Gould had a baby boy, Joshua, yesterday! It was a very ecxiting day! And, Ryan took me on a date! It was so wonderful!
He took me to Red Lobster! He's the best husband ever! He's still sick, so please keep praying for him. Also, I got to buy 5 new kids books yesterday with some of my birthday money! Thanks Uncle Mike and Aunt Susan! I am very excited about that!
