No School Today! Yeah! It seems like Saturday! Today is the first day of the state fair in Texas, and there is no school for Fair Day! It's so great! I actually worked for Chick-fil-a all day today. It was very fun! I got to go to a golfing tournament and pass out water bottles with the cow, and I was a hostess for some parties after that! I had a good day.
Pray for Ryan's ankles. They are really hurting him. he went to a foot doctor and they took x-rays and they said that he should wear a brace, but he doesn't need surgery, which is great, but he's still hurting a lot, and his ankles are really important for him to play football and basketball, so he needs them to get better!

Today is my Uncle Mike's Birthday! Happy Birthday Uncle Mike! It was great to talk to him and my aunt on the phone tonight!
Have you ever drank something normal, like milk or juice, out of a fancy wine glass? It's so much fun! It adds a little bit of elegance to an ordinary day! You should try it! Because really, how often do you get to use the fancy glasses? I say you should use them all the time! It's much more fun!
Today in Kindergarten we did cooking. Everything we cook comes from a cookbook that goes through the alphabet, and today's letter was "E." We were supposed to make Elmo Elephant's Elegant Eggs (deviled eggs.) I thought that that didn't sound very exciting though, so instead we made Emily's Excellent Rice Crispy Treats! It was very fun! We made blue and red rice crispy treats, but we ate them while they were still sticky, which is what made it fun! I told them they had to eat with their hands! It was very messy, but so much fun! Then I told them that other than that time, they had to use their manners and use their utensils to eat. They agreed!

My very favorite books in the world are the "You Are Special" books by Max Lucado. It made my day today to find that he has written another one, so of course I bought it! It's called "Your Special Gift." What a wonderful book! If you have never read these books, you need to.
And I received another special gift in the mail today! My wonderful friend, Ashley, from Cedarville went me a box today. It wasn't just any box, it was a box with Margarita Lime chips in it! They are my favorite chips in the world, and they don't have them in Texas! it made my day. She is such a great friend! You know, it's things like that, sending a special gift to somebody out of the blue, that causes so much joy! It's such an encouragement to knwo that somebody is thinking of you!

What a great day! Today is my dad's birthday! Yeah! When we called they were having a party, and Jeremy and Katiera went to suprise him. We sure wish we could be there! When he opened one of the gifts we sent him, he said "oh, a teddy bear..." I was a bit confused, but then figured out that he got sent Ryan's sister's present by mistake! It was very funny! Sorry dad!
Today after church we took naps and rested a little. We also went to the grocery store, and I vowed never to let Ryan go grocery shopping with me.
He was like me when I was little, just putting random things that he decided he wanted into the shopping cart. We went there for spaghetti and sauce and ended up having to get a cart for everything! It was fun though!
Tonight I got a very great phone call! Tammy from Eleuthera called! It was so very wonderful to talk to her! We talked for a long time, and with each minute I wished I was there more. I sure miss everyone from Eleuthera! I pray that we get to return very soon.

Tomorrow is my dad's birthday! Yeah! Happy early birthday dad!
Today we had a Cedarville Alumni event in Dallas! It was fun! We had a pretty good turn out. It was a picnic. On the way there it rained cats and dogs, but when I got there the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful day! What a blessing! The rain was also a blessing though, even though I got pretty wet! We really need that rain!

I survived the first party of the year in Kindergarten! Yeah! It was very fun! Today we had a full day! This morning we had a policeman come in a talk to the class about what policemen do! It was funny to hear the kids'
comments and questions! There was a lot of "my mom was going to fast around a curve and this policeman came and told to to go slower......" and "if someone stole your car you would lock them up in jail forever!....." I loved listening to them!
Then this afternoon we had a campfire party! First we had a bug hunt! We hid 130 bugs all around the room and then we turned off the lights and the kids came in with flashlights and hunted for the bugs! It was very exciting! Then we made vests from paper bags that we colored and put stickers on. We made indian headbands, and lanterns too! And we painted our faces and made smores out of chocolate icing, graham crackers, and mini marshmellows! And we had tents set up and we read stories inside the tents!
The party went so good! I had great parent volunteers to help, which was such a blessing!
There was a part of my day that was very sad. One of the kids in my class has a dog and his parents had to put his dog to sleep today. The little boy was so very sad, and it broke my heart. We prayed for him and his family and his dog today in class. As a five year old your dog is so important, and I can't imagine having that happen. Pray for him.

Well I had a great day! In Kindergarten we had cooking and we made Dirt!
That's oreos, chocolate pudding, and gummy worms! It was very yummy! But it was also very mesy! And fun! At one point I looked over and one boy had pudding smeared all over his face and his hand was covered in it! I couldn't help but laugh!
When I got out to my car after work I discovered that the battery was dead, so I had to fix that, then I went to three dollar stores looking for plastic bugs, then I got stuck in traffic! Boy was it a good afternoon though! It was such a blessing to have someone there when I needed someone to jump my car, and traffic was so wonderful because I just got to sing praise songs that whole time! God blesses me even when things don't go exactly the way I plan!
Tonight we had a celebration! We paid off our credit card that I worked all summer to pay off! So we went out to dinner. We went to the mall so that we wouldn't spent too much money, but boy did we pick the wrong mall to go to! We went to the ritzy mall again, and even the food is so expensive!
But we got to sit in the middle, which is a little room that has no roof, so there is a breeze and an open sky, and there are really tall bamboo shoots going all the way up to the top. It was very fun!
Happy birthday to Mom and Kari! Ryan's mom and sister had birthday's yesterday and today!
We love you guys!

For church thismorning we are talking about fear, and Ryan made the best video! It was so very funny! Since I do lights, I get to sit up high and I can see everyone's reactions to things. During that video it was so fun because everyone would laugh so hard!
This afternoon Ryan played fooball in the rain. They lost, but it was fun to be in the rain at least.

Today was a long day, but it was as good day! I ended up working at
Chick-fil-a at a mall for a few birthday parties. I love doing parties!
It's my favorite! It was very fun! And, I got a tip! So with my tip, we went out to eat for dinner because Yran had been in Frisco all day working, and he came to eat dinner with me and then we both headed back up to Frisco late and were there until about 10:30. It was a late night, but we had fun talking in the car on the way there and out to eat. It was another huge blessing God gave us. He always provides!

I think that today was my best day of school yet this year. It was very fun. I think I was just in a good mood. And then tonight Ryan and I made dinner together. Ryan is the best cook! He can take anything and make it taste great! I don't know how he does that. He just throws thing together and they magically make a great dinner!
Ryan has this new phase...he wants to go to IHOP. Yes, the International House of Pancakes. Everyday he wants to go there, so we might go tomorrow night. He has wanted to go there ever since he saw some comercial about it. So I guess comercials really do work. I think it's funny though.

Tonight we went to a mall in Dallas just to walk around. It's the kind of mall that we can't really afford to step into the stores, you know, where a pair of shoes is a couple hundred dollars. It was fun to walk around and talk and be with each other. In the courtyard of the mall they have a 20
foot safety pin! Why, you ask? I have no idea.
It was wierd, walking out of the mall I felt very content. In the past walking out of malls has made me feel like I need more. It's sad to watch how materialistic people are sometimes, myself included. Stuff isn't what makes us happy though, and it's not what matters. I have way more than I need. I am very blessed! One of our friends said something this weekend that I don't think I'll ever forget. She said "if you're looking at what the person is wearing, you're looking at the wrong thing." We should see people for who they are, not what they wear. We should see them as a person made by God, who God loves, and we should find ways that we can love them and serve them too. Sometimes it's easy to judge people by what they wear, but I need to be reminded that that's not what God looks at.
In Kindergarten today we made cookies! It was very fun! All the kids have aprons, and I have one too! Cooking in Kindergarten is always a little crazy, but it's fun!
Tonight Ryan is making us mocha-cappi-latte-chino things. I call them chocochinos, because I can never remember what they are called, but I am excited to taste them!

My dentist appointment went much better than I thought it would today!
While I wouldn't really call it "fun" as Ryan would, it wasn't too bad. I ended up having a cavity, but the dentist said that the reason my tooth was hurting so much was that my sinus is really swollen and it runs right though my tooth roots. So he said to take sinus medicine and it hopefully will feel better. And my cavity wasn't as bad as I thought it would be either. I am very grateful and glad it's over with. Thank you to all who were praying for me!

What a great day today was! I didn't sleep well at all last night. My poor tooth just kept aching! So I slept in thismorning, cleaned the house, then headed up to Frisco. Ryan played his first football game today! It was very fun! They won! And I got to play with a puppy! After that we went to our freinds house fom our church and Ryan did some work on their computer for them. We had such a great time. They are wonderful people with such a heart for the Lord. It was very encouraging and refeshing to talk to them!
It was just a good day! I am excited about the week ahead, eccept for the dentist part tomorrow. Thanks for you prayers!

Today when we were sitting in the hallway at school I was reminded of something. I sat and watched my kids’ eyes as the highschool football players and cheerleaders passed by them. My kindergarteners’ eyes were so big and wide, and they were so excited, some even speechless. They look up to those high schoolers so very much. They watch every move they make, and they try to be like them. I don’t think they realize it, but they are heroes to those kids. It’s a little scary really, for me as a teacher, to know that each one of those kids watches everything I do too. And it’s a big responsibility to be a good example for them.
Last night we had small group. It’s always refreshing to go to small group. It’s wonderful to have friends to share life with and encourage one another.
Sad thing, I have developed a tooth ache. I have to go to the dentist Monday, and I am not so happy about that. Ryan keeps telling me that it will be ok, but it’s hard to believe. I actually like going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned, but I have had one cavity before, and it was NOT a good experience for me, so I’m a little, well a lot maybe, scared.
We had tests over our Bible verse today, Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Here is one of my kid’s versions –
“Believe in the Lord of the Christ and the vowels will be saved.” It made me laugh.

Labor Day! What a great holiday! We are still a little sick, but thankfully we are not too bad, our colds could be way worse, we're getting over them fast! Today was a day of rest and rain! It's been raining all day, it's great! We opened our windows because it cooled off a little.
Fresh air (as fresh as you can get in the middle of a city) is nice. And we didn't do a whole lot else today.
Today is also a very special day for another reason! It's my Father-in-Law's birthday! We sure wish we could be there to celebrate his birthday with him! Happy Birthday Dad!

Today was great! I was so suprised when I got home to see tow tickets to the Rangers/Indians game sitting on the counter! We went to the game and it was so fun! It was hard to route for two teams at once! I still like the Indians better though! It was a blessing to get to go on a date, someone gave us the tickets, it was a fun suprise! It rained a little, which was fun too! It's always fun when it rains a little at baseball games!
