It doesn't really seem like Friday today. I think it's because I have to work tomorrow. Today was good though, but I was tired the whole day. I think I didn't get much sleep last night. One thing that made my day today though - I think I have probably written about the man who comes to Chick-fil-a everyday, who is always grumpy and just orders fast and throws down his credit card on the counter. He is always so grumpy! I always try to avoid having him in my line. Well he works at the dry cleaners right behind our store. Yesterday when he came in I decided to try to be as friendly as I could and talk to him. I asked him if he worked there at the dry-cleaners, and I told him I'd have to bring my dry-cleaning there next time. It was a short conversation, but I think he warmed up to me a little.
And today, for the very first time when he came in, he wasn't grumpy and he handed me his credit card instead of throwing it!!! It was amazing! I feel as though I have accomplished something. Being friendly really does make things better I think! I'll let you know how tomorrow goes! It's a challenge to you all to be friendly to the grumpy people in your lives!
They might just smile sometime!

I have been so busy that I haven't been able to write, but I have so much to say! Our trip home was good from Wisconsin. While we were there we went fishing, and I prayed that I would catch a big fish, and I did! And the whole time I prayed that I would see a bear. I almost gave up hope, but on our way home a bear came right out in front of our car! I couldn't beleive it! It was good to be with family, and we got to relax and get away. God was so very good to us! And we went out again and caught fireflies! And the stars were amazing! We don't see a whole lot of stars here in Dallas.
Yesterday I went over to the post office, and in the student center at DTS they have tables set out with free stuff on them. There is usually lots of bread there, so that's where we get our bread. It made me think how blessed we are. God literally provides our "daily bread."
Today was great! Our old neighbor, Jill stopped by and I got to talk to her, and then our other neighbors stopped by too! It was great! There was a really mean lady that came in today and had a complaint. People like her make me kinda mad. We are all just people and make mistakes, you don't need to be mean about it. Anyway, I will always be nice to people when they are
working. It's no fun to have grumpy customers.

Today was a great day, and relaxing, which was so nice! We went to an Arts Festival for a while, and we went into town for some errands. This afternoon we took naps and played horseshoes. I like horseshoes a lot I decided, but the problem is that I am not very good at it. I seem to do really good, and then all of a sudden I loose it and can’t throw it right anymore. I’ll keep trying though.
Tonight is a beautiful night outside! It’s quiet and peaceful, not anything like Dallas. The best thing though is the lightning bugs! They are beautiful! I just love to watch them light up the sky! It brings back memories of catching them when I was little. I think they are one of God’s best creations! They sure make me smile!

The past few days have been very busy! We flew into Wisconsin on Wednesday, and Grandpa’s calling hours were Wednesday night. The funeral was on Wednesday. There were a lot of people there! Grandpa definitely had a huge impact in the lives of a lot of people, especially his family. Him and Grandma were always dancing, and they had lots of their friends from dancing at the funeral.
We got to see the whole family, and spend a lot of time with them. We got to spend time on the farm. Pray that they somehow keep it in the family. Now that Grandpa has passed away, nobody knows what will happen to the farm. Ryan and I would live there if we could, if we weren’t going to Eleuthera.
Yesterday after the funeral we spent the day with the family. It was so fun! I married into a great family! It’s like I have always been part of their family.
Today we left to come up north. We had a fish fry tonight, and then we went fishing! IT was very fun! I even caught some fish! I’m sure you’ll see pictures online. Ryan caught the biggest one! It’s great here! There are even lightning bugs! My mom would enjoy the birds here. We saw lots of cranes. And, I got to see a porcupine today! I have never seen one before! It was very exciting! It sure is nice to get away from the business and noise of Dallas.
And I got cheese!

Thank you for all who have been praying for Ryan's grandfather and our family. His grandfather, Ernie, passed away yesterday afternoon. Please continue to pray for the family, especially his grandmother, it's a tough time for them. Please pray also so safe travels for us as we travel to Wisconsin tomorrow for the funeral. We'll be there with family for the weekend.

Happy Father's Day to all of the Fathers! Especially ours! We have the best dads ever! They're so great! We've been talking a lot lately about how much we miss our families. We can't wait to see them again!
Today we had church. I do the lighting on Sundays for both services. It's pretty fun most of the time. I have never gone through a service without messing up at least once. My goal is to go through a whole service with every light cue perfect. Someday maybe that will happen. I try hard.
Ryan has been hard at work since we got home. He has a lot due tomorrow for school. Hebrew is not easy!

Even though it's Saturday today, I went to work. It was a good day though. There was one little accident at work..I accidentally hit the panic button
that you push if the place is being robbed or something. When you hit it
the police are supposed to come or call. In my defense, nobody told me what
it was or that it was even there. I found out when the manager called
everyone over and told everyone about the button and said that somebody
pushed it and the police called...... I timidly raised my hand and smiled. I
had pushed the cash register over by so that I could hit some cups in the
space. It wasn't too big of a deal though, they thought it was funny I
think.
Ryan played basketball today at church. They lost every game, even a game
to 10 year old kids, and Ryan hurt his back. He's ok though. He had fun
even losing. He was glad to get to know people more, and basketball always
makes him happy.
Tonight we when to the ordination of our neighbor, Jonas. We're excited to
see where the Lord leads their family. We're blessed to have them in our
lives!

Today we got our first coffee table for our living room. It was $12 and we bought it from a family in our apartment building. It's a cute little table, and Ryan put a plant, a candle (my favorite one) and coffee table books on it. It's funny because we were just talking about how we wish we had a coffee table, and we walked into the mail room and there was a flier about someone selling one. Again, the Lord provides. Tomorrow Ryan is playing in a basketball tournament, pray for him. He loves to play basketball! I'm glad he'll get to be part of it!

Today was a long day, but tonight we got to have dinner over our neighbor's apartment with their family. I looked forward to it all day! We had such a good time having dinner and talking with them and playing with their kids! We love them! We taught Zoe, who is around 2 I think, to say "No" in the song "This Little Light of Mine".......Hide it under a bushell...No!....I'm
gonna let it shine!" It was a big accomplishment for us to teach her that,
and we're proud! Dinner with them was the highlight of our week!

I went through the whole day today thinking it was the 15th and happy that tomorrow was payday. Well, it's not, tomorrow is the 14th. Oh well, I suppose I can be happy all day tomorrow that the next day will be pay day!
Have you ever taken your laundry out of the washing machine only to find that something that wasn't supposed to be in there is in there and is now ruined? Probably most people have done that before. Well, I usually check my pockets before doing laundry, but I forgot today. When I took the laundry out of tha washing machine I found my little MP3 player thing, which we call "Ditty." I take it with me when I run and listen to it. It is now ruined. I forgot to take it out of my pocket after unning yesterday. I thought Ryan would be a little upset too, because he used it too, but when I told him, he replied with a hug and "it's ok, it's only stuff." What a good reminder to me that everything we have isn't our own anyways, it's God's and He has blessed us with everything we have and He can take it away anytime He wants. We can't take the Ditty or anything else with us when we die, it doesn't really matter. It was challenging to me to remember that, and to use what I have to serve God, because He's the One who has given it to me in the first place. I have been blessed with the best husband, who understands that the stuff we have is only "stuff" and won't matter in eternity.

June 12th already! This summer is flying by way too fast! This weekend flew by too! I had so much to write about but no time! So I'll catch you up...
Saturday we started the day out by having a nurse come to our house to do a medical exam for our insurance company. She took blood samples and other samples that were not too fun. Aparently for some reason I have a irregular heartbeat....go figure, before Ryan was the one with the heart problems, and now me. I think it might have just been because she had just taken blood or something, lets hope at least. Saturday afternoon we took a walk, and we sat on the bench by a fountain on campus. It was a hot day, and the fountain looked very inviting. I noticed that one of the sprayers in it was pointing the wrong way, so I rolled up my pants and hopped in the fountain, which I'm sure is frowned upon, and fixed it. It was very fun, playing in the fountain! Saturday night we went to see the movie "Cars" which was excellent! We want to go again! I recommend it to everyone! It's very funny!
Sunday Ryan did the greeting in church, and he was much less nervous this time. He did a great job! And Sunday afternoon we went out for barbecue.
Ryan calls me a carnivor. If I were a dinosaur I would definitly be a TRex I think. I love meat! Sunday night Ryan taught a class at church on the DaVinci Code. It amazes me how smart he is! He did a great job teaching the class! It was very interesting!
Today we woke up at 5:15 and went to the gym to run, and then I headed to work and Ryan went to class. BUsy day for us both. Tonight we'll hopefully get to sleep early so we can go to the gym tomorrow early again.
That about sums up the weekend! It was great!

Let's see, what has happened today. I guess I can't really say that much has happened out of the ordinary. Days like today are great days for me, but they are probably boring to read about for you, sorry. It was a good day though.

I had a great day at work today. It was just a good day! This is the part where I really start to like my job, when I know how to do everything and I am getting good at everything. Before then it's not too fun. The people that work there are so nice!
Have you ever had a spider plant? I don't think that's the scientific name for them, but they are wondeful. We have so many in our apartment! There
13 just on the sindowsil in our bedroom, all that came from two tiny plants that my aunt gave me a couple years ago. It's like the gift that keeps on giving! If you are looking for a fun gift to give people, you should get a spider plant, and when it has babies, you can give them away as gifts, then it makes your house pretty and you have a nice gift to give another person!

I had to work on the headset at the drivethrough of Chick-fil-a today. It wasn't the funnest thing ever because it was my first time and I wasn't sure how to do it right. It was relly stressful. I think I'll like it a lot better when I get more practice. It was a good day though. The best part was when Ryan got home from work! That's always the best part of the day!
It's really hot here in Dallas now. It was in the high 90s today. So for those of you living in cooler weather, don't take it for granted. I like the hot weather most of the time. Ryan is from Wisconsin though and will always be a cold weather guy at heart.
Thank you to all who are praying for us. We can tell that there are many people out there praying for us. The Lord has been so very good to us! We sure appreciate your prayers!

Today was my first day working full-time. And I got to talk to my neighbor on my break, so that made the day fun too. Boy, it sure is a long time to stand though. I got a lot of exercise! Ryan went to the dentist again today to get more work done on his teeth. Not fun for him! He’s ok though, and he seems to be recovering quickly.

Today was a blessing! Thismorning Ryan spoke at a church here in Frisco near our church. The church is going to support us for missions, and they have already been such an encouragement to us. The challenge thismorning was that the church is a spanish-speaking church, and Ryan had to preach through a translator. They sang and spoke all in Spanish. It was a wonderful experience. i love to go to different churches where the people and culture are different. It always gives me goosebumps when I hear voices praising the Lord in a different language. God has no barriers. The people of the church were warm and welcoming. Ryan got to share all about Eleuthera and what we'll be doing there, and they spent time praying for us.
Also, Ryan got to go to his first baby shower today! After church they had a baby shower for one of the girls in the church. It was fun to attend that too and get to talk to the people more.
We then came back to First Baptist and Ryan has been busy all day with work. Tonight is our VBS kick-off. It will be fun!

God has blessed us so very much! We are so thankful for our jobs and our apartment and our cars and our families and friends, and churches and health, and jobs, and so much more! Today I was reminded of how God takes such good care of us. He provides everything we need! I had a doctor's appointment today to find out what some bumps on my arm are. He gave me some medicine to get rid of them, and the medicine was expensive, and at first I focused on how much we had to pay, but then God reminded me that it could be a lot worse, it could have been skin cancer or something that would have costed a lot more. It put that into perspective. It reminded me once again that God always provides, and it reassured me that He will provide the money we need to live in Eleuthera too.
Today I got to talk to my roommate from college, Erica. It's always a blessing and encouragement to talk to her! It made my day!
