Last day of July! I worked a long day today, from 6:40 to 4:30. It was a good day though, we got a good night's sleep last night. Tonight I am busy getting things ready for school. I have the day off tomorrow so I am going to go decorate my classroom a little. I feel like it's going to take forever to decorate and oraganize my room at school. I am excited to get started though.
Have you ever had pickle flavored chips? They are very good! Our neighbor bought me some because I like pickles. You should try them!

Tonight we went to a Summer party for our apartment building. It was really fun! We have met some great people this summer who live in our building!
Today we actually met a girl who grew up in Eleuthera! We never thought that would happen! Her family lived there as mssionaries. It's really a small world! We actually knew her family when they lived there. It was fun to get to talk to her and her husband.
Tonight we are going over to our neighbors to watch a movie. I got a lot accomplished today, I cleaned the car and the office, and I went running thismorning. Ryan did a lot of homework and worked on our website. He works very hard! I'm glad he makes time to play too.

I got so much accomplished today! I finished cleaning our closet and kitchen really good. I am "spring cleaning" this week. Tomorrow I tackle the office, which needs cleaned really bad. Tonight Ryan went and played basketball with some guys that I work with from Chick-fil-a. He loves to play basketball! I'm glad he got to go. He won =) This week also Ryan went with our neighbor to a homeless shelter where our neighbor was preaching for a church service there. They went and said it was really good, and they're going to go back again. It's a good ministry.
There are so many homeless people in Dallas.
Here's a challenge for you. Can you fold anything in half more than 8 times? I haven't found anything yet that I can, so if you find something, let me know, or maybe it's true what they say, that it's impossible to fold somehting in half more than 8 times......try it!

The last few day have been busy, but pretty normal. We both have had work and school. Tuesday night was Family Night at Chick-fil-a, so that was fun.
All of our neighbors came! I had to work until 10 though, which made for a long day. About 9:00 I was on the headset for drivethrough and I said "Good evening! Thank you for stopping at Chick-fil-a, this is Emily, how can I help me?" I was so very embarassed! The guy just laughed at me, and I explained that it had been a long night, and changed it to, "how can I help YOU?" At least he thought it was funny.
Let me just say that being married is the BEST! The best part of the day is coming home and seeing Ryan and hugging and cuddling! It's so great!
NOTE from Ryan: For the record, Ryan does not approve of using girly words like cuddling on a public blog such as this, yet he posts them as they are the offical words of Emily.

Praise the Lord for a day of rest! Ryan and I both got to rest today after church. We got to come home early, and we have just been resting, napping, and reading all afternoon. I'm sure glad that God knew that we needed rest.
Church today was about finding our identity in Christ. It's hard for me to listen sometimes when I'm busy doing lights, but I tried very hard today to listen consentrate on the message. It was very good. One thing that stuck out to me was how John called himslef the Disciple who Jesus Loves. He didn't say, "Hi, I'm John, son of Zebedee, or John, former fisherman, etc.
He saw his identity in that Jesus loved him. Today a lot of times we find our identity in what we look like or what we do...I'm a kindergarten teacher. But that's not who I am, I am a child of God.
I also finished a book today, and I finished a two week diet of only eating fruits and veggies. This is a big accomplishment for me, because I am not disciplined, and I have trouble finishing what I start, especially books.
God in His amazing grace has answered my prayer and taught me so much along the way to accomplishing these goals!

Wow, that last week has flown by! It's been so great though! Thursday night we had small group. We love our small group! It's so refreshing to go! We always have good conversations. We didn't get home until midnight Thursday, and then I had to work Friday.
But, the best part of the week....we went to the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert Fridat night! You should check out the pictures! I got to wear my cowboy hat! It was so great! I love going to special things in the city! And I don't know if you know Tim McGraw's song "When the Stars go Blue," but that's one of my favorites. There's a line in the song that goes "dancing in your wodden shoes." So I also wore my wodden shoes! It was great! There probably wasn't anyone else there with wodden shoes! I got them in Brazil a long time ago! So I got to wear my wodden shoes and my cowboy hat! What a great night! Ryan is the best husband! We had such a great time on our date! It was special for us because we don't get to go to big things like that very often!
Since we didn't get home until after midnight again last night, I slept in a little this morning, but not too long. I went to the gym and then to the store and the bank. And now we're babysitting for our wonderful neighbors!
Zoe is pushing her bunny rabbit around in the stroller right now. It's very cute!

I'm not sure why I'm still up. I should be in bed, I have to work early tomorrow morning.
Anyways, I worked today, and then I came home and cleaned. The best part of my day was that when i came home Ryan had a suprise for me! He has two tickets to the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert Friday! I'm so very excited! I will be excited for the next two days constantly! I can't wait!

Today was a wonderful day! I worked a long day, but it was fun. I got to be the hostess of our Family Night tonight at Chick-fil-a, which means I get to play with kids and pass out hats and stickers and balloons and help them color and pass out free samples of food and talk to people. It was really fun! And Ryan and our neighbors came too! So great!
And another great thing that happened today was that we got back pictures from our wedding, you know, the ones we put on the tables at the reception.
Well, some of them didn't turn out to good, they must have gotten hot or something, but there was one good one of Grandma and Grandpa Flunker dancing at our wedding that I love.
Ryan went with Jonas tonight to Half-Price Books and Ryan got me a couple kids books that are old, one of them was a favorite from when he was little. They're so special! Ryan picks great books! He's so wonderful! It was a great suprise!
Pray for him, he'll be up late tonight writing an exegetical....

And I worked out this morning, which I haven't done in a few weeks. That's about all....

OK, let's start with Friday...Cow Appreciation Day! It was a very fun day!
For those of you who don't know, Chick-fil-a's mascots are cows that say "eat more chickin." Well, Friday if you dressed up like a cow you got free
food at Chick-fil-a, so all day people came in dressed like cows. It was very entertaining! In the evening I wasn't working, but our neighbors went and dressed up their kids like cows. They stopped by to show us when they got back. They were the cutest cows ever!
In other news, Ryan is growing a beard. It's not my favorite thing ever, but he still looks good. I'm hoping the faze doesn't last long though.
Today we were at church all day. God really took care of us today though.
I went to get our car e-checked, and it didn't pass because one of the front wheels was about to split. If we wouldn't have gotten it checked we wouldn't have even known and it could've been really bad. The guy was so nice though, and didn't charge me for the e-check, and they fixed our cracked windshield for free and gave us a free car wash! Then when i went to get tires, they gave me a discount! So we got our car all fixed up. God really provided! And we got to come home a little early! It's great!

Today was such a fun day! Actually yesterday was too, but I forgot to write about it. Today I worked, and the day flew by, I love those days! And when work ended my neighbor met me, at the drive through window, not in a car
though, it was very funny! I was very excited to see them! So me and her
and the kids went to Central Market, which of course is now one of my favorite places.
I got yummy fruits and veggies, but I only had $10 to spend. I got corn and strawberries and a tomato and the biggest pickles ever! I'm talking GINORMOUS pickles! They were $4 for only two of them, but it was very worth it! I love pickles! And Greta got artichokes, which I have never eaten until tonight. It was a fun experience! I can now say that I have eaten an artichoke! They're tasty! But that is not the only good thing about them. They are fun to eat too! It's like you get to play with your food! You should try them!
Ryan has to work late tonight. I can't wait for him to get home!

Sunday we were at church all day. But Sunday night on our way home we decided to go on a date! I love unplanned dates! We went to go see "Superman" It was a good movie. Someone said that you cold take a 4 year old to it, my suggestion is not to take a 4 year old to it! It's a little scary at times. It was so fun to get to go with Ryan. We got there early so we just sat and talked until it started. It was wonderful!
NOTE FROM RYAN: Read our review of Superman Returns HERE
Yesterday I worked almost nine and a half hours, so it was a long day for me. I was a little grouchy. But the more I think about it, I have nothing to be grouchy about. God has given us so much! We found out that Ryan got his scholarship, which is such a blessing! We were praying that he would get it. Another answered prayer!
Today I work late, but I had that morning off so I had time to work out and clean and get some other work done. I had some extra time to spend with the Lord thismornig too, which has been wonderful! Tonight is Family Night at Chick-fil-a. It should be fun!

What a wonderful day! I had work off today, and I got to sleep in, and then I cleaned and we went to Home Depot to buy some pots for our plants. Our spider plants are still having tons of babies! We're running out of room to put them!
Today we also made a great discovery! It's amazing how many cool things there are in Dallas that we haven't even seen yet. Today we went to a place called the Central Market. It's a huge store filled with ceiling high fruits and veggies from all over the world. And they have anything organic you want, and they have so many different types of olives! It's like a place from the movies! It's so fun just to walk around! We went in just to check it out and didn't want to leave! We ended up buying a bunch of fruits and veggies, and coffee, and get this...you can make your own peanut butter there right from the peanuts! It's amazing! I never want to shop at a normal grocery store again! It's so cool! My mother-in-law would love it!
It's a store full of healthy food! It's so colorful!
After that we went swimming with our neighbors. There were sure a lot of kids there! It was fun!
Tonight we are resting and relaxing. Ryan finished his Hebrew 3 class yesterday. He's happy about that, but he already has homework due for Hebrew 4, which doesn't even start until next week!

July 4th was wonderful! We were going to have a cookout, which turned out to be a cookin, with our neighbors, the Bundy's, and another couple came over. We stayed there for a long time and talked. It was so fun to just sit around and talk with friends. We have been blessed with great friends here. There were fireworks out the window too.
Yesterday and today were pretty normal days. Yesterday our neighbors (who actually moved to another floor but I still call them neighbors) gave us a bookshelf, and I'm so excited because I got to put all of my kid's books on it! It's in our living room and I love to look at it! I just love kid's books! They're my favorite! I have a list of things I want to get done before summer ends. I finished two of them today! I finally finished our wedding and honeymoon scrapbook! I'm so excited! Now I can start the scrapbook for the last year! Ryan had to work late today, but he said he had a great day! And now that he's home he has to study all night.
Tomorrow is his Hebrew 3 final. Pray for him! I'm sure he'll do great!

Today we had church and then we got to spend the afternoon with our friends who are in town, Pete and Rachel. They are visiting from San Antonio. We went out to lunch, and to the park, and then to a Rangers game! It was very fun! I have wanted to go to a baseball game since we got here!

My internet is ticking me off! It keeps cutting me offline!
Other than that it's been a wonderful day. I had to work today. I normally don't work on Saturdays, but I needed the hours this week. It turned out that we had not a whole lot of customers though, so I got to go home a little early. I brought back 12 cups of icecream with me because our neighbors moved today to another floor, and there were lots of people working hard all day to help them move. Ryan and I were the babysitters while they moved when I got back from work. It was very fun! The poor little kids were sick though. It was still fun to play with them. It is very sad that they moved though, even though it's only three floors up.
We'll miss having them across the hall.
Did I write a journal yesterday? I don't think I did. Well it's pretty easy to tell about yesterday. I was sleepy all day for some reason. I think the trip caught up with me and I haven't slept too well and I was just sleepy! That pretty much sums us yesterday!
