Local Island Ministry with Pastor “J”

One of the graduates from CMA’s very first class of students was Pastor Jerome. He remembers that initial “Come and See” seminar from 2009, even if I forgot all the names and faces from that exciting gathering.

CMA’s director, Paul Voss, has been in regular communication with Pastor Jerome over the years, and we got the opportunity to reconnect with him over breakfast on this trip.

While we had many stories to share about ministry and how God has been faithful over the past decade, the most impressive thing that I took away from our meeting was a strong sense of encouragement that the training program that CMA offers has been tested and proven to produce the results of faithful ministry and integrity in the lives of the graduates.

Of course, evidence of these results are not discovered in the vacuum of the larger Christian experience which includes faithful ministers, mentors, and the body of Christ as a whole. However, the commitment to sound doctrine and the practicality of using the training has been fruitful in the life of our friend Pastor Jerome.

As we finished up our breakfast I took out my phone and found a picture from 14 years ago at the initial seminar where Jerome was in attendance. We scanned over the faces, until, sure enough, crouched right behind someone in the front row was a young pastor Jerome standing right next to me! I asked him if the church today calls him Pastor “J” and he said they do! We embraced and said our goodbyes until next time. What a blessing to see the lasting legacy of God’s leading in the lives of His servants and His faithfulness to our friend, Pastor J.
