Well, the last few days have been super busy! I’ll try to catch up…
We’ll start with Micah’s new things, his new word is “no”. Let me tell you, it is NOT good! He says no all the time! We put up our Christmas tree too and he loves it! He of course wants to touch all the ornaments. He especially loves the bulbs and the tractor ornament! He broke a bulb already. He’s just so curious! I love to watch him as he stares in amazement at the lights and ornaments though! He also learned to say “tree.” It’s really cute!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It started with the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade! All teh comercials made us cry! We also had so much fun watching Micah dance at all the songs and watch the dancers and balloons! I baked all day, a pumpkin pie, and 6 cakes for the next day. Then that night we went for Thanksgiving dinner at our friend Abe’s house. There were tons of friends that came, and we had all the Thanksgiving fixings, including the Bahamian favorites of fish, mac and cheese, and peas and rice. Don’t worry though, there was a turkey, mashed potatoes, and all the traitional American foods too! It was a great mix of the two cultures!
The day after Thanksgiving I iced my 6 cakes, which were for a bridal shower for that night. The cakes turned out good, and the shower turned out great! There were lots of friends there, and MIcah had so much fun playing with the other kids from our settlement! The shower was for our friends KP and Vonya. It was my first Bahamain Wedding Shower! We had a fun time! We all met at the church and jumped in the back of trucks and drove to her house and suprised Vonya and dragged her to the church hall for the shower. I love the settlement that we live in! It was a great night with friends! I also decorated for Christmas! Hooray! I have to admit though that I am having a little trouble getting into the Christmas spirit. It helps to have the tree up though!
This weekend I have not felt well. My whole head has hurt and my throat too. Ryan let me sleep this morning. I slept til 11 and then took a two hour nap while Bitty slept! Hopefully my cold gets better!

The rest of November since I wrote last has gone pretty good. I have been painting the house we are going to move in to. My friend Cameron has been helping me, and today I finished off more. Tomorrow my goal is to finish the room we’ve been working on. I have to go during Micah’s nap each day while Ryan’s home, so it’s a long process to get a room done! I am having fun though.
Ryan has been working all week on preparing to teach New Testament the next few weeks. Today he’s been stuck and I spent much of the evening listening to him talk about the intertestamental period. Then I made pizza, which, I might add, tasted very good! I have come a long way since I first started to have to make my own pizza!
Ryan also got to talk with his family tonight, they’re deer hunting, I bet he wishes he could be there too.

Today was the first good day in November! It was a great day today! This morning Bitty and I went up North to the airport to pick up our mail. On the way we saw huge manarays!!! They were beautiful! They were at the Glass Window Bridge swimming around like they were flying! I have never seen them in the wild like that! God is so amazing! Then, we had a smooth ride the rest of the way because they paved more of the road! Hooray! After that we went home and opened all of our mail! Stephanie sent me a WONDERFUL box full of clothes and hair products! And we got more Fruity Bunnies from mom Flunker. Then, after the fun box opening, Bitty and I went to Lord Byrons to shop for some painting supplies, then while he was napping Cameron and I went to Palm Cottage and painted some of the living room. I LOVE the color I chose! After that Andrea from the classes in Rock Sound came for Ryan to help her with some work she missed, so Bitty and I hung out at home with them, and tonight I went to Tammys and she cut my hair! What a great day! And, I walked through a bunch of butterflies today too, which was super fun!
As for the rest of the last few weeks since I wrote last…last night after Bible Study I spent my evening scraping hundreds of maggots off a trash can while I watched cockroaches and a rat the size of a cat crawl around. That was fun…not! And, we have a new pet, not really, but it’s a HUGE spider at Palm Cottage. The biggest I’ve ever seen besides a tarantula! It looks super scary!
Some fun things though about the last few weeks, we went camping! Bitty’s first camping trip! – in our driveway! We weren’t sure how he would do if we went camping, so we decied to try it in our driveway. Micah stayed up for a few hours and it was fun, then he finally fell asleep. In the middle of the night we decided to go back in the house though because it was going to rain. It was a fun night though as a family! And, we got Tag back – with all four legs!!!! And he’s doing great! He’s still taking some pills daily, but he’s full of energy and is walking well. Praise the Lord! He’s very cute too, when Bitty cries, wherever he is, Tag runs to Bitty’s rescue as fast as he can! He loves his boy! And Bitty has a new word, turtle, which he says in the CUTEST way!!! “urdle!” his “r” sounds like a “w” though! So precious!

November has gone by fast so far. I had every hope that November would be a good month, and so far it’s the opposite. Tag is still in Nassau. They told us last Friday that they would have to remove his leg, but praise the Lord, I called MOnday and they said he was doing better and they think he’ll heal on his own. So they didn’t remove his leg. They are keeping him for while until he heals good.
Ryan has been gone to Freeport this weekend. They had a graduation Sunday, which went well. While he was gone Micah and I hung out, and last night we went with our friends from the camp to Governors to the Homecoming. Micah had fun running all around! Then they came over and we watched Hitched. It was a fun night with friends and helped the time fly while Ryan was gone.
Last Sunday morning Ryan preached in Palmetto Point, but before he left, I accidentally left ant poison out and MIcah got ahold of it. We don’t know if he swallowed any, but it was scary. He was fine though.
This week was the Board meeting so Paul, Mike, David, Amy, and Cindy were here. We went out to eat at Buccuneer one night, and MIcah and I went swimming with them one day. It was freezing!! Of course, it was still in the 80s, but we were too cold for the water. Poor Micah was shivering!
On Nov 5 I went to a Guy Fawkes party at Abe’s. We watched V for Vendetta, and they set off fireworks. And we ate the cookies that Cameron and I made that day. We had fun making cookies!
So, those are all the good things about November so far!
