The day flew by today! I really like teaching! And today s already Tuesday, it’s so great! I had lots of energy when I got home from school, so I cleaned everything and made a special dinner, then I found out that Ryan didn’t have time to eat so that was sad, but it was yummy still! And I worked out a lot tonight during Ryan’s class because I missed my morning workout. And, the Bahamas did a great job yesterday voting…no lottery in the Bahamas!

Day off! Yeah! THere is a vote today to decide whether or not the lottery should be allowed in the Bahamas. It’s a big deal! People are very passionate about it! We went to Sky Beach today as a family. It was a good day off!

Today was a tiring day after yesterday’s Junkanoo. We didn’t get back until super late. Church was good today though. Then after church we had PTA, which went well. Ryan does a great job with presentations and sermons for PTA. He makes me excited to see all that God is doing at Windermere!

Junior Junkanoo! Micah did a great job! It was a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG day though! I wrote an article about it so I’m not going to rewrite it. I loved seeing Micah participate though! He was super cute with his bell!

I had the day off today. I went to the store, and parked beside me was a man (the driver of the car) who was downing a Kalik and smoking a joint at the same time. Hmmmmm…….
I did get a nap today though, and I got the house cleaned and laundry done. And Dale, our neighbor, the boys dorm parent, is back from the hospital, so that’s good. Unfortunately he can’t work for another month and a half, which leaves Ryan to do his job, and a thousand other jobs. We are going to need some extra prayer!!!! He is already stressed out but he has been able to keep going thinking Dale would be back this week and he would get some help, but now it will be a lot longer. We need to keep praying for more workers in the mission field!!! Please, God, send more workers to help us!

Wednesdays are my longs days. I teach all day and during my lunch break we have our ladies Bible Study. I am thankful for our Bible study! It is a great break in my day and week! After dinner the last few times Micah has secretly plotted with Ryan to chase me and tackle me on the bed. It is a fun time!

I have been thinking a lot about grace lately, and how it is so sad that some people don’t know what grace is. I can’t imagine not knowing the grace of God. And I have been thinking how people who don’t know God’s grace can’t give grace to others. It’s very sad. I am so thankful for every single day that the Lord shows me grace and mercy. I am nothing without Him. I don’t deserve any of the good things He gives me, and I do deserve everything bad that He doesn’t give me. I am so humbled at His love for me.
Micah has been preparing for Junkanoo at school this week. I am excited to watch!
Today was a busy day, but a good one. I taught all day, and inbetween teaching I did all the basketball team’s laundry and three loads of our own laundry. The bad thing about not having a dryer is that when there is no wind it takes forever for clothes to dry. I am thankful though that tonight the temperature dropped and the wind has picked up…beautiful night!

Today Lisett, Melissa, me, and the kids went to the beach to go shelling. Dale is still in Nassau in the hospital, so it was a diversion for Lisett to keep her mind off of it. But also it was just fun to be with the girls and our little ones at the beach! Micah and Isaac climbed trees for a long time. Micah is so good at climbing trees! He’s a little monkey!

Long day traveling North today for mail. The plane was late, but it allowed me to run errands and I got to stop to see my friends. I missed Bible Study at lunch today though and i was sad about that. It’s always fun going north though. Tonight we met with our friends. It was a rough night, but the Lord is good and we are glad to be His!

It was back to school for Micah and I today, although I could tell he didn’t feel good dropping him or after school. I guess he did ok during school though. I feel so bad for him. It was a good day for my teaching though.

I’m feeling better today, but Micah is still not feeling well. About half way through the day he felt better, well, at least he had more energy. I has still been coughing a ton though.
Tonight our neighbor cut off his toe accidentally. So it was a rough night. Ryan took him to the doctor, and a few hours later they flew him to Nassau. Melissa came and stayed with the kids while I took supplies to meet them at the doctor for Nassau. We are praying that he will get there and get his toe fixed before it’s too late to fix it.

Micah and I have been sick all day, so we stayed home and cuddled. It was good to have a day to spend time with him! Poor Ryan though had to take all my classes. He is a hard worker for sure!

Micah was coughing all night, and he isn’t feeling well today. Neither am I, but despite that, it has been a great day! Ryan preached three services today. All three sermons were great! Micah didn’t feel good so he cuddled with me the whole time, which I have to admit, I really enjoyed. I really love the worship music there too. I had to sing while holding mIcah most of the time (he is heavy!) but it was refreshing! Donald and Candy had a house full of family and friends for lunch, and a wonderful meal again in the afternoon. And we all took naps before church again. At one point, there were 5 dogs, all little like Tag in the house. It was so fun! Tag liked having friends! So did we! And they have a giant bean bag at their house, and Ryan and Micah had tons of fun wrestling on the bean bag, while I prayed that Micah wouldn’t get hurt. God heard my prayers, only Ryan got a bloody nose. They had fun! We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends in Spanish Wells!

We made it to Spanish Wells, and we have had a great Saturday! We traveled here this afternoon and met first thing with the Pinders for lunch to the Gap. We had a great lunch with them! We brought Tag with us, and he sat in a corner quietly the whole lunch time! He’s such a great dog! After lunch we went to the People’s Church to meet Donald and Candy and see how their work day at the church was going. They did tons of work today! They are working on a Family Life Center for the church, and lots of members and others came together to work today. We had a great afternoon with them and tonight Candy made a great dinner and the Boykens and a new family came over for dinner. We had a great time of fellowship, and Micah had fun playing with the kids! It’s great to be here! We feel so at home in Spanish Wells!

THis morning was a rough start. First, it took me like 5 minutes to get my contact in my eye! Then I walked out the door from waking up to excersize at 6:00, and a money bat flew into my face. As I swirled and screeched, I walked into a spider web. And on our run I poked my eye trying to swat a mosquito! Goodness! But, this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! The rest of the day was good!

We finally got back into small group tonight. We played Battle of the Sexes and had tons of fun! I am excited to get back into our Bible Study with them! Today was my day off too, and I got a nap which was nice.

I keep writing 2012!!! I have been waking up at 6:00 every morning this week to go work out with lisett. We walk and run and do jumping jacks and push-ups and stuff Iike that at the park in Sound. My poor feet and all blistered and my legs don’t want to move. But it’s been good! I think I am over the back to school slump, or at least most of the way over it. And I was going to make a pie for Ryan today but one of my kids brought me a pie after school! It’s funny how God works out things like that. Micah has been preparing for Junkanoo everyday at school. I am excited that he gets to do it this year!

I am exhausted. I think that it’s the hardest going back to school in January for everybody. Everyone has just come off a great vacation, and now we don’t see another one in sight for a long time. All the kids are tired too and not too happy to be back it seemed like (except for my 5th and 6th graders who still have their enthusiasm). I got up at 6:05 to go workout with Lisett this morning, and I am ready for bed now and it’s only 8:45. Lord, give us all strength to make it through this first week! Even Micah was extra tired tonight. He had a fun day at school though. And tonight I got tons of school work done. The bad news is that I am pretty sure that my snackshop helper is stealing. I am glad to know that there are lots of people praying for us because it’s tough to share the love of Jesus with these kids! Well, it’s not tough to share the love of Jesus with them, but it is tough for them to accept it. That’s why we are here! =)

Micah had both a fun day and and a rough day today. He got to play with Isaac a lot today, which he loved, but, he stole a toy from Isaac’s house, so that was a rough time for him. He had to learn the tough lesson of the affects of stealing. He got a spanking and we talked as a family for a long time, and he wrote Isaac a sorry letter and told him he was sorry. Hopefully this lesson will point him to Jesus. It’s so hard to be little and have to learn lessons. The Yates came over for the evening for dinner, a game, and the Packer game. Packers are playing right now, so far they are winning! Yeah!

Today was a cleaning day for me, after I slept in that is. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned and then cleaned more, then worked on school stuff. Only a few more days of break! God is so good and gave us a great break though!

Today we had an early morning for the first time in a week. We went north, dropping Ryan in JC, and MIcah and I went to the airport and picked Ryan back up on the way back. We had a fun trip. Micah has been getting car sick a few times lately though, so I was nervous the whole time. We had to stop a few times because he thought he was getting sick. I wasn’t taking any chances after last week’s car sick episode. We made it home with no mess, yeah! The rest of the day was restful. I love not having anything to do! Well, I did do tons of dishes and laundry…..but other than that I loved it!

We had a fun family day today (after sleeping in)! We went canoeing on the Caribbean side. There were tons of huge jelly fish! We saw fun fish jumping and watched the sunset, and Micah and Ryan explored lots of caves and climbed on the rocks. Tag even came with us! And tonight Ryan got out the telescope so we could all look at Jupiter together. Micah loves stars and planets! I love that about him! He’s like his daddy =)

Happy New Years! Ryan got home from church with two minutes to spare before midnight last night and we got to ring in the new year as a family! And today it was restful and the Yates came over for dinner and we played the game ” battle of the sexes”. I won’t say who won. It was a good day first day of the year…….except for this morning whe Ryan won at Ticket to Ride by blocking my track three times!!!!!!!! It was very devious and malicious and not a great start to the new year for him! Grrrrrr! I suppose it was his last option though because I’m gea at that game 🙂
