I have been decorating for Christmas for the last two days. Yesterday we went to Spanish Wells to go to the doctor, and we got to see the baby moving and kicking, and the doctor guessed the gender even though it’s early! It was fun to see the baby and see and hear the heartbeat!
On the way to Spanish Wells though my shoulder started hurting. It has hurt ever since then, and my neck too. It’s getting better now a little, but it has been unbearable through the night and this morning. I started decorating last night but couldn’t finish. Then today of course my house was a MESS and I had to cook for a church dinner too which meant way more mess, so after church I was exhausted and went to bed. When I woke up I was super overwhelmed by the mess and the decorating that needed to be finished. Ryan, being the great husband that he is, washed the billions of dirty dishes (which he HATES todo) and cleaned the kitchen for me since I wasn’t feeling good, and I was able to finish the rest of the cleaning and decorating. It was a long process of transforming the house into a Christmasy house, but I finished. Finally. Then, tonight Micah and I did our first day of our advent, and I sang him “Silent Night” and said our prayers and tucked him into bed. He bundled up into a ball, closed his little eyes, yawned a sweet little yawn and said in a super cute sleepy voice “This is gonna be the best Christmas ever. Thank you, mom.” It was pretty much the cutest, sweetest thing ever, and it made decorating and cleaning while in pain all worth it.
