Micah likes to count, but so far he’s not very good at it. He usually goes one, two, six, eight, two, two……but somehow, when there are eight things he’s counting, he ends on eight!! It’s funny! He watches a Mickey Mouse episode where they count eight ducks, and he always ends on eight somehow! He also loves ovals! He calls them ogals though, which is super cute. He likes to call out shapes that he sees.
In Preschool last week and this week he ran right into school and started to play without crying, such a big boy! He learned to draw straight lines in school too. He used to only draw scribbles, but once he learned in school to draw a straight line, now he draws them all the time. We have tons of straight lines drawn in chalk all over our driveway and walkway!
Last week we were all sick. We’re all better now except for I still have a sinus headache. One day Micah’s nose was running, and Ryan wiped it with his arm, then a few minutes later Ryan dropped ice cream on his arm and licked it off…except it wasn’t ice cream…it was Micah’s boogers!!!! Yuck!
My Grandma Pfeister passed away last Wednesday. We wanted to go to the funeral, but because of timing issues we decided to go when we can spend more time. I wish I could’ve been there though. She was a great woman! I can’t wait to see her in Heaven someday!
Monday and Tuesday some Staff from Agape Flights flew over and had a picnic for all of us. I had a great time showing them the island and fellowshipping with them and the other missionaries here. Hopefully they’ll come for picnics more often!
Saturday our friends, Jesse and Erica and their little girl Teresa got here! They are visiting from Alaska! It’s a big change for them and they’re still not used to the heat! It’s not been the best weather this week. We got to go to the beach a few days, and to swim at Sky Beach, but then Tropical Storm Nicole went a little west of us and we have been getting lots of rain and wind. Not the best beach weather. And the rain has flooded our room and our living room ceiling is leaking too. Micah has been learning how to share more though, and not push down his friends. He had a rough day obeying today. It’s tough to be two and have to learn to obey! It’s sweet though when he hugs Teresa and says he’s sorry after he pushes her down. We decorated for Fall! I love Fall! And since we don’t have Fall here I decorate so it feels like it at least and smells like it. And Jesse and Erica brought us candy corn! Yesterday while Micah was in school we went to Lighthouse Beach, it poured down rain while I sat in the back seat of the van with water dripping on me the whole time. Not the best drive, but it was fun to be at the beach and watch the big waves from the storm. And there was a sea turtle in the ocean hole! That’s the first one I’ve seen! We have been having lots of fun catching up with Jesse and Erica! It’s fun to have friends from home visit and see what life is like down here.

So tonight Micah randomly said “Micah pee-pee” and then we went pee-pee on the potty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the first time!!!!!!!!!!! I’m the proudest mommy ever! He finally got his red choo-choo train for going potty!
Unfortunatly, all three of us are sick at the moment, porr little Micah is coughing. We’re praying that tomorrow we’ll be feeling better. But at least hooray for going potty!!!!

Today we got a box from our dear friends from Florida! They sent Micah sidewalk chalk and some dinosaurs, and he spent the next two hours straight playing with them until dinner! He has never played with dinosaurs before, but he knows what they are and he ran around our yard for the longest time with them yelling “roar, roar, roar!!” It was very cute!

Tonight we went to the beach on a family date to look for treasures. We went to a new beach first, which ended up being all rock. It was a long climb to get to the beach, but it was pretty! Then we went to club Med and looked there, but we didn’t find a lot. We had fun though as a family! Micah loves to find treasures!

Still no internet and phone………….despite that, we had a wonderful day!
Ryan and I went out on a date tonight! We went to Sky Beach for a long time and ate and talked. Then we walked on the beach for a while and sat in their comfy chairs. It felt like we were on vacation! I don’t think I have ever felt like I’m on vacation in Eleuthera! It was great! Then we went to a movie, which wasn’t the best movie, but it was fun to be together! We had a wonderful evening!

Tonight was the last night of classes. I had fun with the kids I watch tonight, and I let Micah stay up to play with them. Micah likes for some reason to push the baby girl down, or walk right into her until she falls. Then of course he gets into trouble. Tonight the little boy was doing something bad and I counted to three for him to stop and he didn’t, so I put him in time out. Micah didn’t understand though because when he does something bad and I count to three he gets spanked. When I put the little boy into time out Micah went right over and got the spank spoon saying “three, three, three” for me to spank the little boy. It was cute. I tried to explain that I spank him, but his friends go in time out.
It was a good day.

When I talked to Micah’s teacher yesterday she suggested bringing Micah in today to help him get used to coming more. He cried for a few minutes yesterday and today when I dropped him off, but I am hoping that coming an extra day will help. He loves preschool though. His teachers say his favorite time is anything that involves sand! They made sand pictures yesterday and they said he had lots of fun!
Today was a crazy day for me. I ended up driving back and forth to and from JC 6 times for various reasons. And I drove up North to get the mail. I got a wonderful encouragement from my friend Amy! It made my week! She sent me some things for making jewelry! I have loved making jewelry for the last few weeks! It’s so fun!
By the time I got everything done it was time to pick up Micah. I love seeing him at Preschool when I first walk in and he doesn’t see me yet. Then when he sees me he drops whatever he’s doing and runs to me yelling “mommy!” It’s so great!
I had Bible Study with Sandy tonight which went great! Then I took the rest of the evening and relaxed! It was great too!

Today Micah had Preschool. This gave me the chance to go to the Training Center and try to get some work on the computer done. I did lots of ordering from the internet for the Special Needs school in Governors, and I wrote lots of e-mails. Then Patrick came over for lunch, then I headed back to the Center to finish more work on the computer. I am getting pretty annoyed at not having cars or internet! Of course when I think about that it makes me humbled because the purple house in JC burned down and they lost everything. I should be thankful to have internet and cars at least some of the time!

So both of our cars are broken. This means that Bitty and I are stuck at the house most of the time. We are praying that the Lord allows us to fix them soon!
Today Ryan met some wonderful people at the Training Center, from the States, and we went to lunch with them. They are here on vacation, and are actually hoping to come teach some day here! They are very nice people! We went with them and Patrick to Buccaneer for lunch.
Now that Micah knows his letters, we loves to play with his toy letters and tell me their sounds! He played with them almost all day today!
Tonight I babysat for classes again. I had the little boy and his baby sister tonight. It actually went great! He didn’t cry tonight, I think because his sister was there, and we had a fun time! Both of the boys had trouble learning to share though.

Micah knows most of his letter sounds already! I think it’s mostly from watching Leap Frog Letter Factory! We work on his letters a little each day too! He does such a great job! If only our internet worked so we could call his grandparents to show off!
We also took a family cheeseburger date today! It was lots of fun!

Today was a busy day! Our friends, the Uricks, have been in Eleuthera for a year and have to return to the States soon, so we went to a going-away party for them on the beach in from of Horatio’s house. We had lots of fun spending the afternoon with all of our friends from JC! Micah had lots of fun playing in the water and sand and climbing on the rocks. I did my best to not be too over-protective!
When we got back Ryan spent the afternoon chopping down all the coconuts in our yard so they don’t fall on Micah’s head. We ended up with a big pile of coconuts and lots of coconut water!

Agape came this morning, so Micah and I went up North to pick up our mail. When we got back from North we met Ryan and Patrick at Sky Beach for lunch. It was beautiful there as usually, and we had a great lunch fellowshipping with Patrick! He’s teaching the class in JC right now.

Today Bitty slept in until about 9:30. He had a long day yesterday! When he woke up we went to the beach to search for treasures. I thought there would be tons of sea weed and treasures from the storm yesterday, but the beach was perfectly clean! There was no sea weed at all! I guess the waves carried it all back out to sea! We went to the store after that, then came back and I cleaned the truck, the porch, and washed the dishes. Tonight I’m babysitting again, which is going a little better. He cried again most of the time, but we’re making a little progress I think. Maybe each day will get better. He’s a good little kid. Micah does such a good job sharing with him too! I’m proud of him! And, Micah knows some of his letter sounds. It’s fun to teach him!

Today was Bitty’s first day of Preschool! He had lots of fun! This morning he ran right into school and started playing without looking back. When I picked him up he was sitting at a little desk doing a puzzle as happy as can be! He ran to me shouting, “mommy!!” with a huge smile on his face! That made me happy. I was worries that he wouldn’t want to come back home after being at school, and that he would forget me =( I’m glad he had a fun day, but I sure missed him! I did get to take a nap though and I went to lunch at Sky Beach with a wonderful friend, Ladonna. Hurricane Earl hit right as we were eating, and it was super windy!!! The waves were huge too! It was very cool! The hurricane stayed far enough away to not cause any damage here, so we just got to enjoy the wind and cooler weather. The Atlantic was super wavy and windy and the Caribbean side was sunny and calm, weird! I had a fun afternoon, but I couldn’t wait to pick Micah up! It was a good day! Ironically, this has been the first day our power has stayed on in like a month…when we have a hurricane..go figure!
Yesterday I had fun with Bitty too. He has been letting Tag out to go potty. He opens the door and shoos him right out, it’s cute! And he has been collecting lots of flowers for me too every day lately, then he makes me put them behind my ear. Yesterday though he picked me some for my ears, then he got like 20 more and played with them until they were practically mulch, then when I was doing laundry putting the clothes from the washer to the dryer, he was standing beside me with his bucket of pedals, and all of a sudden he decided that his flowers needed dried too!!! He dumped all the petals in with my clean laundry, so then I had to sort all the petals from the wet clothes in the dryer before I would dry my clothes!! It was funny. But then, another mess….he found a box with tiny little pieces of paper that someone sent to us in a care package one time. It had thousands of tiny paper pieces, and he dumped them out in the living room! He’s such a great little boy! He does exactly what he’s supposed to do…make messes! I have to say though that he’s good at cleaning though too =)
Tonight I started babysitting a little boy of two of the students in the JC class. He cried most of the time, but I’m hoping he’ll be better tomorrow. It’s fun to have a friend for Micah to play with! And it’s fun for me to get to feel like I’m doing my part for the classes too.
