January 09

Micah took his very first steps today! He took two steps thismorning, and then three later, and then three more! It was so very cute! I was sooooo excited! He’s just the best baby! I’m so very proud!

And, I made pumpkin cookies from scratch today! I had fun baking today, and I made good pizza dough for the first time! It was a good day.

Tonight we had our friends Norlette and Tavon over for dinner, and then we played video games with them.

Right now Micah is sleeping with his bottom in the air, it’s been a tiring day for him doing all that walking =)

When will January end!? It’s taking so long!

Today was a good day though. I went on a walk thismorning that was quite lovely. And Bible Study tonight was great too! There were more girls there tonight too!

This afternoon I was so very tired! I was just exhausted! I got a little nap when Micah was napping though. Our poor friends Brad and Alicia haven’t had water since Saturday, so they came over and took showers, and Ryan tutored a boy tonight too in his Bible lesson.

Oh, and Micah spit up all over my phone today! I’m talking covered it!!! It was disgusting!

Today I cleaned the bathroom and this afternoon when I finished cleaning I took Micah to Palmetto Point to look at paint samples.  I want to paint our living room.  I’m not sure if we can afford it, but I’m dreaming anyways =)

Tonight some girls are coming over to work out with me.

We went to Liberty today for church and then rested the rest of the day.  Tonight Ryan met with a friend for Bible Study too.

Today Ryan and I were the photographers for our friends’ wedding!  It was very fun, and the pictures and video turned out great!  It was our first Bahamian wedding, for our friends Norlette and Tavon.  It was a beautiful wedding!   It was fun for us to get to use our video and camera equipment for a use like this to be a blessing to someone!

Why is this month going so slow! It’s only the 15th! Today was good for the most part, although the morning was a little rough. Micah knocked down a plant and dirt went everywhere and I had to give him a bath because he and everything else in sight was covered in dirt. Praise the Lord it didn’t actually fall on him!

This week too has been a blur! Again I have been busy everyday but I haven’t gotten a whole lot done. I got the material for my front curtains cut, and we had the Weinbergers over Sunday night and the Foxes over Monday night, and Tuesday night Bible Study went great! A few of the girls are opening up more and it’s fun to be able to answer questions that they have. I’m finding though that they will only ask questions one-on-one, not in the big group.

Micah learned in the beginning of the week to stand on his own, and everyday a few times I find him standing for about 10-20 seconds on his own then he falls on his bottom! It’s fun to watch! He loves cars! That’s his new favorite toy! And I started giving him nutrigrain bars and they are his new favorite food!

A side note on Monday night’s dinner, I learned that going shopping on Mondays is very frustrating! I was going to make pizza, so I got all of the ingredients but they didn’t have cheese, so I decided on Chicken patties, but they didn’t have any buns, so I decided tomake breakfast foods, but they didn’t have any eggs!!!!!!!!! It was very frustrating! I finally left and went to check at a different store and they had a few eggs so we went with that! The boat doesn’t come until Tuesday with food so MOnday’s there’s nothing. The only fresh veggie or fruit they had was broccolli. However, Tuesday we found that our bananas on our tree are ripe, and they are super yummy! It’s fun to have bananas from your own tree!

It rained most of the day yesterday so I read a rainy-day book to the kids in school. I was hoping to walk to the school but didn’t get too, but last night I got to work out with my friend Leia from a camp here, which was fun.

This week has been a blur. And finally today I am getting the house clean. Micah is feeling better, and I am too, but Ryan is still a little sick. Micah is now into everything and today Ryan put latches on the cabinets because he was starting to open all of them. I took all of the Christmas decorations down, which was sad, but now I get to put up Valentines ones! Hooray! Ryan and I took a wonderful walk last night. It was a beautiful night and the sunset was georgeous! It provided rest after a long week of a extra cranky baby and the family being sick.

We did also go on another walk this week that turned out great. When we were walking back to our house we ran into lots of friends and one of our friends cut us some sugarcane from his yard. He also asked Ryan if he would teach him more about the Bible, which is something Ryan has been praying about. He’s been wanting someone to disciple, so it’s a huge praise. That was encouraging.

Okay, I’m off to the store to buy groceries for tonight. We’re having company over for dinner, I’m excited!

That’s the first time I’ve written “2009”! Wierd! We’re home again! We had the best vacation! I regret not writing journals everyday! It seemed I was always busy or too tired! SO much to write about though…

Christmas at the Flunkers was very fun! Ryan got me a puppy for Christmas!!!!! We named him Tag, and unfortunatly we can’t bring him home though until April because he has to get his shots. He’s so cute! Micah loves him!

We bundles Micah up and put him in a sled to go out and cut down the Christmas tree. He did not have fun! He didn’t likebeing cold very much. He did however love to look out the window at all the snow! Flunker Family Fun Day was also fun. We played football and spent time with Ryan’s family. MIcah was very cute on Christmas day with a reindeer on his bottom!

We ended up staying the night in Detroit on the way back to Ohio, long trip!!!! But when we got to Columbus we met my mom and dad and they took Micah while Ryan and I headed for Tennessee for a CMA retreat. We had such a great time with our fellow staff! There were a few of them we had never met before. Ryan and I got to take a walk too, and the Bed and Breakfast we stayed at was beautiful! We stopped on the way back in Cedarville and drove around and ate at Colonials and spent time with Delora. We sure did miss Micah though and we were excited to see him when we got back!

We spent New Years with my family and Aunt Susan and Uncle Mike came too, and we had Christmas at New Years. So we went to Belgrades on New Years Eve. One night I got together with Stephanie, Alexis, and Bethany and we had a fun time chatting about life and catching up. Micah loved being with his cousins, and the last week there was great! I already miss my family and friends so much! The Lord gave us a great trip home though that went very smoothly!
One more thing, Ryan had a hreat appointment, and it went really good. We left encouraged! Praise the Lord!

One MORE thing, we’re all sick now, and Micah had his first fever today. Poor little guy!
One MOOORRRE thing, Micah got his first two teeth while we were in Wisconsin! He’s veeery cute!
