Merry Christmas Eve! Tonight we grilled flatbread pizzas on the grill and then went to church tonight. church ended up being us running around chasing Micah, and Ryan and his dad running sound and the camera. It was a special evening though. We also opened stockings thismorning. MIcah got a wood airplane and a bus book and hasn’t put down either since he got them. He loves them! He’s also been super attached to his sucky and blanky this trip, so he carries them around with his new toys!

Tonight we watched Star Trek, the movie. And then we played cards until almost time for Santa to come!

Ryan and his dad went into town today ad got micah a little John Deere tractor to ride. He LOVES it! He’s very cute on it too!

We went shopping today for some last minute gifts and things. And Micah played more in the snow sledding and throwing snowballs with Aunt Kari.

Today Ryan’s mom and i decorated the tree! I love looking at all the ornaments!
More Ticks tonight! This time I didn’t win, but it’s still so much fun! We are still trying to avoid people so we won’t give anybody the flu.

Micah has so much fun playing with Ed the cat! Unfortunatly, Micah ends up throwing something at him, or stepping on him, poor Ed!

Micah is doing so well with eating with a spoon by himself now! He’s so great! And, he’s saying so many new words! He’s to the point now where he can copy most words you tell him so they sound at least something close to what the word is. His new favorites are “lights” “snow” and “tickle”. And lots more! He still LOVES airplanes, but I’m glad that he still says “Audi” for airplane! It’s super cute!

Ryan took me out on a date tonight. We went to the store, and to dinner. It was nice to just be with him. Things can get pretty busy, t’s nice to have a break and be able to talk and have fun together!

Kari came back today. We went and got our Christmas tree together! We went to a place where there were reindeer, and we picked a tree out and cut it down. It’s a fun tradition! And we learned a new card game which we call Ticks. It’s really fun! We played it together as a family tonight. I won =)

We opted to skip church today due to the flu, which is still contagious at this point. So we spent the day resting. Micah got to go sledding with his grandma and grandpa today, which he loved! It was so great to see his smile as he went down the hill on the sled!! I just love him! He likes the snow more now!

Well, everyone wasn’t feeling great today yet, but we went to see the girls basketball game tonight at UGBW. The girls who came to Eleuthera this summer played tonight. They are AWESOME! It was so fun to see them all again! Micah had a blast at the game! It was very funny, every time the buzzer sounded he would lay on the floor. Were hoping that nobody on the team gets sick!

Well, we brought the flu with us apparently!

This morning we woke up to Ryan’s dad passing out on the living room floor. His mom called 911 then hung up because he said he was ok, but then they called back, and by that time his mom was on the floor too and nobody could get up. I answered the phone when they called back, but I had no idea what was going on, my parents were both on the ground, but they said they were ok, who knew? They said they had been sick all night with the flu. We called Kari shortly after that to warn her, but it was too late, her and Julie had it too. So they came up to Florence and we spent the rest of the day with 4 sick people laying on the floor and couches of the living room, and Rya, me and Micah taking care of them. By the end of the day they were feeling a little better.

There’s snow here in Wisconsin. We put Micah in it and he cried! Sad!

We’re all feeling better! And today was a rush to pack and then we flew to Wisconsin. It was easier to say goodbye to my family knowing we’ll be back soon! We had two good flights. And we got here and spent some time at Kari and Julie’s house for a while. It’s fun to be back in Wisconsin! Micah is having fun playing with his Aunt ReRe already! And his Grandpa and Grandma Flunker couldn’t be happier to get to play with him! We drove to Florence late tonight. It’s cooooooold!

Micah is doing a lot better now, but Ryan and i spent all of Sunday night throwing up! We got the flu too! Let me tell you…it was awful!!!!!!! I didn’t sleep at all! Sunday morning I went to church and Ryan stayed home with Micah. I left church early though because I wanted to check on him and make sure he was feeling better. This is the first time he’s really been real sick. I got to hold him a lot yesterday, which was nice. But then about 9 at night I started to not feel well, and then it started, and about two hours after that, ryan got sick too. So we have pretty much been doing nothing but throwing up and resting all last night and today. I’m just so glad that micah is better! Unfortunatly, Aunt Barb got it too! It’s very sad!

Well, today started out good….

Micah and I went to lunch with Alexis and her kids thisafternoon. We has lots of fun! Micah and Xavi had a little trouble liking each other at times, but they will be friends later I’m sure! I got to meet little baby Anne! She’s precious! Then we all went to visit my grandma and Aunt Debbie. That was fun too, until Micah threw up everywhere!! Poor little Micah was playing and having so much fun, and then it happened! So we cleaned up the mess and started to say our goodbyes, when he threw up again! Then on the way home he threw up 4 more times and we covered in throwup by the time we got home, and I stopped to clean him up once and got lost, so then I was driving around trying to find my way back while he was throwing up and choking because he couldn’t sit forward………it was HORRIBLE! Praise the Lord i finally got home! Poor Micah kept throwing up though for the next few hours about every 15 minutes, then around 6 tonight he stopped for an hour and we gave him a cracker and some water, and he started throwing up again. Poor little guy! I just feel so hopeless and sad when he’s sick! He doesn’t have a fever though, I think it might be food poisoning from something he ate at lunch. i hope he gets a good night’s sleep! I just love him so much!

We went to Walmart today, and Ryan and I spent the rest of the day unsettled. We found ourselves completely overwhelmed by all the stuff!! We were reminded again about all the materialism, but at the same time, we found ourselves being drawn to lots of stuff that we all of a sudden “needed” or wanted a lot. I have to say that I did not like it one bit! We don’t need all that stuff!!

Well, after our trip the megastore, I went to visit my friend Stephanie. We had a fun time chatting! Tonight Jeremy and Katiera and the kids came over and Micah got to play with all his cousins! He had fun chasing them around and wrestling!

Today was another busy, long day. We left for the airport at 6:30, and spent from 7:50am to 1:50pm in the Nassau airport. While we were there we spent LOTS of time chasing Micah around, and we had breakfast at Wendy’s. And, Micah shoplifted! We went into a little shop because I was out of energy and wanted a power bar. We left the store, walked for a while on our way back to our seat, and then I looked down at Micah who had two power bars in his lap and one in his mouth! So, we had to take them back and pay for the one covered in slobber. Our flight to Cleveland was delayed, so we got there around 8:30 in the evening. Micah was tired, and we were all freezing! it’s cooooool in Ohio! It was worth it though to see my mom and dad! It’s good to be home!

I had lots of things on my list and I finished them all! hooray! Tomorrow…come soon!

Today was Christmas Cookie Passing Out Day! Tomorrow will be too! We had a very busy day today! We went as a family to take our car and truck in to get them tuned up, and we went to the clinic and me and Bitty got flu shots. Then we all went and passed out cookies and cards to our friends in Governors and Palmetto Point. Then we went back home for lunch and Bitty and I went back to Governors to get immigration papers (which took FOREVER) and to give our friend Leige cookies and a card, and then we went to Hatchett Bay and JC to deliver more cookies! We visited lots of friends! It was great! Then tonight Wade and Tammy came and ate dinner with us which was very fun! We had spaghetti which Micah had all over his face by the end! Very cute! Tonight I cleaned and got things ready to go for tomorrow, which will be even busier than today! I have cleaning and packing to do tomorrow, and I have to go to North Eleuthera, and Spanish Wells, and Governors! And, make another stop in Hatchett Bay! Crazy! And I am hoping to make some white chocolate popcorn for the camp! I better go to bed!

Today was a busy day! I baked lots more cookies and got more things ready before we leave for the States. There’s so much to do! I have a list a mile long! I’m sooo very excited! Finally all teh cookies are baked and ready to be handed out. That’s tomorrow’s job, along with lots more!
Ants have overtaken our house the last few days. I really need to mop our floor I think!

Ryan taught a class tonight for those who missed days of New Testament. And I did get a nap in this afternoon, which I am paying for right now, because I can’t sleep! I’m too excited I think to go home, and I keep thinking of more and more things I need to do!

This morning we went to Spanish Wells for church. Micah only cried for 5 minutes in the nursery! Hooray! The service was wonderful and it was great to see our friends there! After church I went to a Christening celebration here in JC with lots of friends from our settlement. We had a fun time, and of course there was all the favorite Bahamian dishes again! I took pictures for them, and then headed hoem to bake more cookies to give to people. I baked sugar cookies, and no-bake cookies, but the no-bakes didn’t turn out good! I don’t know why, but they didn’t harden back up! Ryan likes them anyways so I guess he can eat them all! Tonight I got to talk to my friend Leia on the phone, and that was fun and encouraging! And Ryan and I watched a show on Christmas lights together. So far God has given us a good December! I am very thankful!

Today was our day off. Well, you never really get a day off being a mom, but it was closer at least! Tonight Wade and Tammy took Micah and Ryan and I went on a date! We went to Rainbow for dinner and got some ribs! It’s the first date we’ve been on in a while! Ryan was blessed with a Christmas gift from the students in Rock Sound and he used the money to take me out to eat! The Lord takes good care of us! After that we came back and intended to watch Christmas movies, but there was another movie on TV that we ended up watching together. We had a great evening! And Micah did too! They took him to Palmetto Point and he got to play with lots of friends! The Wienburgers are great friends!

Today was a great day! I started the day baking brownies and making a cheese ball! My cheese ball was the first I had ever made, and it turned out great! Tonight was the last night of classes in Rock Sound until after Christmas, so after their test we had a Christmas party! I love Bahamian food, and they had all the good stuff! My cheese ball was a hit too! I love this class! They are wonderful!

Today on the way to class I was teaching Micah words, and he said “Jesus!” He only said it a few times, and then it eventually turned back into “dada,” which most words do, but it was the first time he said “Jesus” and I am proud! He’s getting a tiny bit closer to saying “Merry Christmas” Maybe by Christmas he’ll be closer! Also, I made the mistake today of putting him down for his nap in just his diaper. He was really hot before he went down so I took off his clothes, and when I came in to get him he was jumping up and down in his crib, naked! He took his diaper off! Silly boy!

I baked all day today! Well, I also went to the bank. Poor Micah had trouble obeying today too. He wanted the cookies I was making so badly! I would tell him “no touch” and he would take them right off the counter! One time he stared at the cookies, and I said “Micah, no touch” and he moved his hand a little closer, while looking me straight in the eye. I said again, “NO Touch”. He moved his hand a little closer, still looking me in the eye, now his little hand was touching the wax paper. He stared for a while longer. Again I remined “NO TOUCH.” And while looking me straight in the eye still, he grabbed the cookie!!! He is a little sinner for sure! He got a big spanking for that! And for the many times he kept touching the Christmas tree and throwing things at it. He just had so much trouble obeying today! It’s so sad for me to spank him too!

Even though it was a rough day for him, we did have so much fun dancing and playing today too. We danced to my favorite Christmas song, “Let There Be Light” for a long time! We twirled so much that Micah began getting dizzy and running into things! It was funny! He just laughs and laughs! He’s a good little boy! I love him so much!

I made 4 kinds of cookies today! Tomorrow I am making brownies and a cheese ball for a Christmas party for the students in Rock Sound. I’m excited for that!

Poor Tag is back at the vet. He has an infection. I can’t wait for him to just be all better!
Today I went up north, took a friend to the airport and picked up the mail. Then Bitty and I went shopping for supplies to make cookies for our friends! Micah has the best time driving the “car” that is the grocery cart up north in the store! I take extra time just so he can have more fun!

After I went north, I ran errands in the south. It was a long day of driving around lots of places! The power was out for almost the whole time that Ryan was at class. Praise the Lord for our emergency light, that stayed on for at least a while. Great news! I finished a book tonight! This is big news for me because I am the type of person that starts many books and doesn’t usually finish them! So this is a big accomplishment! Hooray! I should celebrate!

It’s December! Hooray!!!!! I am so very glad that November is over! Today was half a busy day for me. The first half of the day was normal busy, playing with Micah, cleaning up, ect. Micah and I stayed in our pjs until about noon. Then after his nap we went and payed tons of bills and went to Rock Sound to the grocery store. It’s a long trip to Rock Sound! Ryan studied all day then taught New Testament tonight.

I love looking at our Christmas tree! It’s beautiful!!! It has white lights and red bulbs and little red bows, and all the ornaments are filled with memories and each one is special! I could stare at our Christmas tree all year long!

Psalm 119:175 “let me live that I may praise You” This verse caught my heart this week. I am searching for a verse to put in Micah’s room, and this one is really what I want for Micah, that he would live to praise the Lord.
