Septmeber 30, 2009
Last day of September!!! Today was a good day. In the fist five minutes of my day, i woke up to Ryan saying “I’m sorry..” I said “for what?” he said “you’ll see”. I walked into MIcah’s room and he had spilled his bottle everywhere, so I cleaned it up and changed him, and he was all dry, and we walked into the kitchen and in less than 30 seconds he found a bunch of water that had spilled from the water cooler and splashed all around in it, again, he was soaked! So….we went through the cleaning up and changin routine again, for the second time in less than 5 minutes. The good news though is that I had gotten a good night’s sleep for the first time in a while and the whole fiasco was more funny than anything.

And, it’s cooler today! Tonight Ryan and Micah and I went out and sat outside on truck’s tailgate for a while. I was sitting indian style holding Micah, and Ryan went to stand up and the tailgate broke! So down we went, I scraped my knee and bruised my leg and hand, and Ryan, praise the Lord, caught Micah who was only an inch or less from the ground. He had fallen head first and would have hit his head on the rocks. Ryan caught him just in time! It amazes me how good the Lord is to us! He protects us from so much!

I just sat tonight for a long time being in awe of the Lord. We don’t deserve anything of the good gifts He gives us!

Tag is doing better today, and they doctor said hopefully he can come home Friday. Hooray!
I had Bible Study with my girls tonight. I started a new book with them, which I love. It’s perfect for this group, and they weems to really like it! We had a fun time!

I did tutoring with Wayne today too. I actually forgot it was Tuesday though until Tammy showed up at the door. We worked on the sounds for the letters a-f, and lots of other stuff. I really like tutoring! I was hoping to get to the school today to read, but I had a lot of random things to do today.

Micah learned to say “see” today. I always say “see truck, see car, see doggie, ect” and today Wayne said it, and Micah finally said it too! I think that once he knows that other kids say things, he tries too.

I cleaned all day today.

Checkup on Tag…he’s doing ok, but he had a reaction or something or an infection, I’m not really sure, but they had to give him antibiotics in hopes of reducing some swelling, and they said he would have to stay longer. We miss him!

Ryan taught a makeup class tonight in Rock Sound. So now class is officially over! It starts back up in a few weeks!

When I walk into Micah’s room and he has dropped his sucky or his blanky, I say, “where did it go?” So today when ryan walked in, Micah said it himself, and he’s been saying it more and more! It sounds more like “wddg?” He only got the first letters out, but it’s his first phrase!

We went to an Anglican church in Bluff today for church. It was a good service, very different than most churches here. Most of the time I spent chasing Micah outside though as he tried to climb on all the graves in the church graveyard! And, he is a little fit thrower, and he bit me twice today…hard!!!! I love him anyways, but I sure hopes he grows out of biting soon!

Tonight we watched The Wizard of Oz, and Ryan discovered the turkeys in the movie for the first time! (NOTE from Ryan… they’re not turkeys)

It was a tiny bit cooler today! Still in the 90s, but cooler! We went on a family date to Sky Beach today. It’s been a long (but great) two weeks of classes for Ryan so we spent the day to celebrate together. We had lunch then Micah and I went swimming while Ryan read. Micah loves balls and has three that he played with in the pool for a long time! AND, we ordered french fries for him at lunch, and instead of waiting for me to give them to him, he picked one up, dipped it in the ketchup like a perfect little man, and ate it! Since when does he dip his own fries in the ketchup??!! He’s so smart! And, he did it very neatly! He made harldly any mess at all the whole time!! He just fed himself (and the lizards that were around our table – which Micah thought were dogs I think)
We took a family walk tonight too at sunset. It was a wonderful day! God gave me the most wonderful family!!! I couldn’t ask for more!

Happy Birthday DAD!!!! Incase you can’t tell, today is my dad’s birthday! He’s so wonderful! I got to talk to him today, that was fun!

So Tag had his surgery finally. They said it went well, and that he was resting when I called. Hopefully he’ll be home soon!

Micah doesn’t say bye bye yet, instead he waves and says “okay!”. It’s very cute! When you say bye to Bahamians they will say “alright alright okay okay” a lot, so everyone thinks it so funny that Micah says “okay!” when you say to say bye! At least he’s got the waving down! We had fun today for a long time while a dropped yogurt into the cup and every time Micah cracked up laughing! Then for acout 5 minutes he spit his yogurt out every bite he took. It was a fun play time for us! And he has started carrying around the stuffed dog that Ryan had when he was a baby. It’s Micah’s new favorite, he carried it around all day hugging it! Very cute!!!!! And special because it was his daddy’s!

Last night we spent the longest time having so much fun with Micah being obsessed with Ryan’s belly button! Micah played with Ryan’s belly button forever! And we laughed and laughed! It was such a precious family time!

Poor Tag was supposed to have his surgery, but when the doctor gave him anestesia it made his little heart rate go down really far and they couldn’t do it. When they called they said he was doing better, but they are going to have to do tests on his heart tomorrow to see if they can even do the surgery. Poor Tag! We miss him a lot and want him to be better and come home!

I love to watch Bitty sleep! He’s the cutest thing in the whole world! I could watch him sleep for hours! He had trouble napping today. Last night though he slept good, even though Ryan and I had trouble sleeping because our power was out most of the night so it was incredibl hot. But before we fell asleep we woke up Micah and brought him to our bed and played. He is the cutest when you wake him up at night. He’s so sleepy, but he wants to play too. We don’t want him to grow up!

Micah and I hung out today and played. It was a pretty normal day. There were lots of weekend dishes to wash and things to clean. Ryan is teaching class in Rock Sound again tonight. He spent the whole day studying.

Nothing much else to write about. I’m going to bed…goodnight

Tag is still in Nassau. He has to have surgery on his leg tomorrow. Poor Tag! I feel so bad for him! And for us…it’ll be a lot to take care of him!

Yesterday we were supposed to have a party for our friend’s daughter. She’s turning 3 this week. I made a cupcake cake, and pizzas, and i had presents, and i decorated, and we went to their house 3 times to look for them to pick them up and couldn’t find them anywhere. So, Ryan and I had pizza and watched the Office. It was a fun evening after all.

Micah has been having a fun week. He learned to say “na na” for banana, and “yo yo” for yogurt. I don’t remember I might have written that in another e-mail. But it’s very cute! And he started dragging one of the kitchen chairs to the end table behind the couch and climbing up on it and using as his table. There are some drawers hat he has so much fun opening. He’s just so great!

Today is Mom Flunker’s birthday and yesterday was Kari’s birthday, so Happy Birthday to them!!!!

Oh, and we went to church at the Methodist church here in JC thismorning, and that went well, eccept Micah is his normal busy little baby and I had to take him out half way through. But, we all slept in this morning, which was GREAT and we took naps this afternoon too!!! Soooo great!

I got to go to the classes tonight. Micah and I had fun playing on the playground until his bed time. Because classes are so dar away, we have to take a pack-n-play and put him down in a room next to the classes. It took him forever to fall asleep tonight. I got some precious time with him though. It was so hard for me to be strict with him going to sleep. He just wanted to play! And he would smile the biggest smiles at me and be so happy! It was impossible for me to not smile back! He just makes me smile!

There were 19 students tonight at the classes! They are the most wonderful people too! It was fun to meet them and get to know them a little! It was also fun to hear Ryan teach. He does such a great job!

So someone made a huge palm tree beside the road by Banana Beach. It’s liek three times as big as the biggest real palm trees. It’s a mystery! Why is it there? It is a cell tower? Nobody really knows! It’s so cool though and besides how big it is, it looks real! It adds a little spice to Eleuthera!

Micah and I played with bubbles today on the porch. He had so much fun chasing them! And I had so much fun watching! I just love watching him be so excited about little things like bubbles!

Tonight was the first class in Rock Sound, and there were 16 students! Ryan has been studying for a long time to teach the class, and he said it went great tonight, Praise the Lord! God has raised up a great group of students for the classes! We’re very excited!

Our car is still broken.

The weather today was the best!!!! It was stormy, cooler, and windy! I opened the doors and windows and let the breeze fill our house! It was great!

We went to church in Weyms’s Bight today…it was a long drive! We didn’t even go to the right church either!

We had Horatio, Rachel, Harry, and Michelle over for dinner tonight and played cards with Harry and Michelle! It was a really fun night! The Lord is doing some interesting, scary, and great things on our lives right now! It’ll be fun to see how He provides! He always does!

Micah and I went to Spanish wells today to get Tag groomed. I got to see some friends while we were there, and got some excersize walking around the island. Poor little Tag’s leg is hurting him. I think we are going to have to send him to Nassau to get x-rays. He looks funny being shaved now!

Bitty’s new favorite thing to do is dance to the theme song of “The Office.” It’s very cute! When it comes on he gets sooooo excited and jumps and dances all over the living room!

Tonight I did Bible Study with my girls. We talked about friendship. It was a good study and it was fun to see them all again. Most of them have been gone for the summer because everyone leaves eleuthera during the summer.

BItty and I went for a wlk too, and to the grocery store. It was a good day!

Happy Labor Day! There’s no Labor Day unfortunatly, so we had a normal day, but it was pretty good. I walked to the school thismorning and talked to the teacher to set up a reading schedule, and hung out with the kids for a while. Micah was nervous at first, but after the teacher gave him a cracker he was ready for school! Thisafternoon I cleaned and played with Micah. We worked on puzzles. He’s getting the idea. Ryan worked on studying for the classes next week all day. Good news, we found out why our car doesn’t work, so now we can fix it! We just have to have the part flown here from the States.

There was another rainbow tonight!

Tonight the Lord put the MOST beauitful sunset in the sky! AND and an BEAUTIFUL double rainbow! It was so very pretty! It’s amazing how God paints pictures in the sky – more beautiful than anything any person could paint!

We had a fun day together today as a family. I’m so very thankful for the family God gave me!
Micah said “night night” tonight when i put him to bed. Of course it was actually “na na” but it was his first attempt and I am proud! He’s such a good little baby!

This week has been okay. Friday night there was a meet and greet for the new classes starting in Rock Sound. About 15 people came, which is great! And we got lots of applications for the classes. Patrick came into town too to teach the event. It was encouraging to have him here! It’s always so great to see friends we haven’t seen in a while.

This week we had fleas. I gave tag some flea medicine and I’m pretty sure they all jumped off of him and onto our bed. So i had to wash and bleach everything. And i took poor little Tag to the vet today in Weyms’s Bight and he said we need to send Tag to Nassau to get x-rays. So I’m not sure what we’re going to do about that.

We went on two great walks this week too into JC and got to catch up with lots of people. Our car is still broken. We are praying that we can get it fixed.
