February 13

February, 2013

Once again, I am significantly behind in my journal writing. in fact, somehow I missed the whole month of February, which is my favorite month! This February was GREAT!

First, there was Valentine’s Day, which was so great! We went our on Valentine’s Day date a few days early. The Yates watched Micah on our date and we watched Isaac when they went on their date. Ryan and I went to Tippys. and walked on the beach. It was great to get to go on a date! We had a great time! He gave me some earrings too! He is great at picking out jewelry for me!

Micah had a lot of fun this month too. We have a new “pet” which is a spider that made a home outside our house. It’s a big black and yellow striped spider. Micah named it “Webby”. We found that across from it, in the front bushes, Webby has a whole family with little babies! Micah checks on Webby and his family all the time to make sure they are ok. It’s cute. One day at bedtime Micah had a silly look on his face. I asked him why he looked silly, and he said he used Daddy’s toothbrush tonight! HaHa! That was one of those times that I had to laugh, but it really wasn’t good that he used his toothbrush. Micah also ran in his first track meet this month! He came 2nd in the 50 meter, and 4th in the softball throw. He did a great job, and he was very proud. I was most proud of him though for being a good sport and congratulating the winners. He did great!

This month was a busy one for baking for me! I baked 2 big gingerbread cakes, over a hundred cake pops, over 50 cupcakes, and two birthday cakes for people. Most of this was the week of Valentines Day! I love baking for people!

February 22-25 was my favorite part of the whole year! We went to Atlantis for the weekend! It’s my favorite place! It has always been great to go there, but this time was the BEST because Micah is old enough to really have fun! We had tons of fun showing him all around, the aquariums, and bridges, and big sculptures! And we rode the wild river tons of times! It was so fun to watch Ryan and Micah in their raft! I love seeing them laugh! Micah loved the kids play area! He played in there most of the time! And, the funnest thing…..I got to swim with the dolphins!!!!!! This has been on my bucket list forever! It was GREAT! The baby dolphin loved me! Even after we were supposed to be done he kept coming to me and letting me pet him and he did flips in front of me. It just was so great!!!! I also got to go to Starbucks everyday! And Micah and Ryan loved getting donuts everyday! We just had the best time! The VERY BEST part of our trip though was that Micah asked Jesus into his heart! On February 24th, in the afternoon, we had been talking to Micah about staying with us when we are out and about. At one point, on the big bridge, he ventured too far away. To teach him a lesson, we hid and watched him from a distance. He got scared, and eventually headed back to us and found us, but he knew he was in trouble. We went back to the hotel and he knew the whole way back that he was in trouble. We told him though that he needed to come to Ryan and talk. So, we waited, and waited. Micah just hid under his covers. It seemed like forever! I asked Ryan why he doesn’t just go over and talk to him, and he said that God waits patiently for us when we do wrong. Ryan teaches me so much about the Lord. We waited more, and finally, once I left the room, Micah came and talked to Ryan. They had a great talk. Micah knew that he had sinned, and he understood that he needed forgiveness. Ryan and I had been talking earlier that weekend about Micah and when the right time would be, and that night we decided it was time. We had a long talk with Micah, and he decided to ask Jesus into his heart. To be honest, I think he had been saved for a while, he loves Jesus, and he has understood the gospel for a while. But it’s good to have a time to point to in his life when he asked Jesus into his heart. It made me the happiest mommy ever!!!!!!! I am so proud of him! And I am so thankful to the Lord for giving us Micah. I pray all the time that Micah would be God’s child, because I love Micah, but even more than that, because God deserves Micah’s praise.
