June 12

The rest of June
June was a GREAT month, unfortunately, I got caught up in it and didn’t write many journals, which i am very sad about. There are so many things I want to remember! Luckily, I married a wonderful man who writes articles! Hooray! He’s a huge blessing! I wanted to fill in some gaps though. This month I got to start walking, mostly in the evenings, with a few friend, Lisett and Robin. We walk around the Sound and it’s so nice to have people to exercise with! And it’s great to have ladies my age with kids to share and fellowship with.

I have been having a ton of fun with Micah this month too! I made a list of 100 fun activities to do this summer. We are working our way through the list, and we also have 40 books to read. so far we have read about 15 books on the list and we have done lots of fun things like a scavenger hunt, marshmallow and toothpick buildings, handprint painting, playing cards, and much more! We have been having fun! He is also working on doing chores to earn money to buy a toy when he and I go to the STates. He gets 25 cents for each chore, 50 cents if it’s a really big chore. He helps me with sweeping and laundry and other cleaning things. He has lots of fun doing them too. I am also working with him on putting things in the right place and cleaning his own room the right way. He is doing a great job! At his preschool graduation he got an award for “Christian Character.” It made me so proud! We are having fun having conversations with him about the Lord. I love to hear him tell Bible stories! He said the Lord’s Prayer at his graduation too. It made my heart melt! And then we had a team from Brookwood church in SC, and they did a VBS. I took Micah the first day and I just stood in the back and cried the whole way through the songs as I watched Micah stand with the other kids and praise the Lord! I loved watching him sing and dance and do all the motions! I am so thankful for teams that come and invest their lives in teaching my little boy more about the Lord! He loves teams! They are a blessing to all of us! We have been playing the VBS CD since the team left! We miss them already!

Micah has also been in a Thomas the Train phase again. He goes back and forth from cars to trains. Trains has been this month’s theme for sure! I heard a noise in his room the other day followed by Micah saying “Bust my Boilers!” He was angry about something, and it was very funny!

We had a great day today! I got to take Sandy to Black Woods to give out the dresses that the ladies from Ryan’s church made. They loved the dresses, and we had a GREAT time getting to know everyone there! Micah had a great time playing with all the little boys too! He also loved playing in the giant puddles, and he was all muddy and wet by the first ten minutes – he’s a great little boy! I loved meeting the ladies and girls! They are so sweet! And I loved that Sandy got to be a part of the trip! It was her first mini missions trip! My friend Amy put the plans together and was a great help! And it was great to spend time ministering with her too!

After that we went to Poponi and Ryan got to baptize Sandy! It was such a special day! I am so proud of her, and so thankful that the Lord has done such a great work in her life! She is such a blessing!

Sandy Graduated today! We are so proud of her! The graduation was long and hot, but it was worth it to see her walk across the stage!

Today was a fun day, for the most part. The beginning didn’t start too well. Last night some of the crew of the Bahamian Defense Force stayed at Windermere and they woke up and exercised at 5 am! We woke up to them shouting. But then we got back to sleep eventually and woke up again to sweet little Micah coming into out room, so excited, saying “daddy! mommy! There’s something soo pretty outside my window! It’s the sunset! (it of course was actually the sunrise) We followed him to look at it, and he was right, the Lord put a beautiful sunrise in the sky! Micah had a little fever this morning and I thought for sure he was down for the count for a few days. We kept him home from school. But, then like 20 minutes later he was fine. At lunch time we went to Governors to see the Defense Force Ship! We got to go aboard and have dinner with the captain! Let me tell you, they eat good on that ship! We had steak and potatoes and lots of yummy food! UNfortunatly though, I got sea sick and had to leave a little early. We had fun though! Micah loved the big boat! And the crew was super nice! We came home a took a nap after that and then tonight some people came to see Venus go in front of the sun, so that was fun! I cleaned tonight and I turned on Alison Krause and Micah came out of his room and said “this song makes me happy”! It made my heart happy to hear him say that!

It was nice to have a good day after the bad days! I am thankful that we are getting better. A few more days and hopefully we will be back to normal.

My fever left today! I feel so much better! I actually took a nap today that was a good nap! Praise the Lord! Unfortunatly, since I was feeling better, I decided to go to Point to get some soup and Gatorade while Ryan was at graduation, and the van died on the way there. It turned off and the brakes went out too. The Lord took good care of us though and we safely coasted to the side of the road and got out, and a very nice family from Texas picked us up and brought us back home. They said they almost turned around before they got to us, but something told them to go a little farther. Thank you Lord for telling them to go farther! Micah was scared and very concerned about our van. I am sad to say that I am pretty sure it’s shot. We need a new vehicle. We’re starting to pray for one now!

I am sick. The good news is though that Ryan is better, not completely, but at least his fever is gone.
