This week has been tough for some reason. It seems like Micah has not been behaving, and things in general have been hard. The last few days I have had allergies, but today has been the worst! My nose has been running, and I have been sneezing the whole day. By the way, it’s not a good combination to be pregnant and sneezing all the time!!!! I am even still taking allergy medicine, which has evidentially stopped working! I have also been going out of my mind trying to get Micah to learn his spelling words. Spelling may be the death of me!!!

I would like to talk for a while about this pregnancy. Let me first day that I am so very thankful for the blessing the Lord has given us in this baby. We prayed for a long time to have another baby, and our prayers have been answered and the Lord has been faithful! I wouldn’t trade it for anything! But…..this pregnancy has been rougher than Micah! I have to pee ALL the time! The baby kicks my bladder all the time! I love it when she moves, which is a lot, but sometimes she just squeezes all my organs! And I have gotten leg cramps in the last week like when I had Micah. I started to sleep with soap in my sheets again. And I have acid reflux, which I have never had before, but I always feel like I have food all the way up my esophagus! And I have trouble sleeping at night (partly because I have to pee every ten minutes)! And before I fall asleep I have to more my legs all the time or I feel like I will explode. The nerve that she was sitting on has gotten a little better. It doesn’t hurt as much now, which is nice, but she’s super low and heavy and sometimes I feel like there is a bowling ball in my belly! I suppose this is all from the curse. It makes me daily thankful for grace and mercy. I will take all the not-so-fun things about being pregnant. The Lord has been gracious and merciful to us! I am thankful for my little baby doing somersaults in my belly.

And, Happy Birthday to my wonderful mom!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for all the trouble I put you through when I was in your belly 32 years ago!

We got to go to Spanish Wells this weekend, which was really nice! Ryan preached at the Methodist Church Sunday. As always it was refreshing and encouraging! I got to go to the doctor Saturday and see Baby Girl! They had me take the glucose test then too, which consisted of me getting blood drawn, then going out and eating a breakfast of chocolate milk, cinnamon rolls and a candy bar, then coming back and they drew my blood again. Who needs the weird drink they have you drink in the States? He said that Baby Girl is measuring about 30 weeks now even though she was only 27 weeks and a few days when I went. But she’s looking healthy, and she’s turned around the right way now. Praise the Lord!

Midterm Week – I really like Midterm week. Although, I have to say that my kids did horrible this time on their tests! I was able to get a lot accomplished though while they took their tests. I am having to get all my work done for the rest of the year before I leave in April, and it’s a big task! I got a lot done this week though.

Micah is becoming quite the little reader! He can read all of Go Dog, Go, which he is super proud of! I’m proud of him too! He is loving to read now, which is fun.

Spelling is another story. He’s good at it, but they gave him a super duper long list of spelling words, like 400 to learn! We have been going crazy trying to learn the words, and both of us are getting frustrated. Part of the problem is that they are first grade words, but from the States! First graders in the States are a year older than first graders here. They are hard words, and there are so many of them! Micah doesn’t enjoy spelling too much.

This week has been a pretty normal one as far as school goes. Some fun things though…our friends gave us a fish tank in Spanish Wells last time we went, and we finally got it running! Our friend Julius caught us some super cute little fish! It’s fun to have it and watch the fish swim around. We have tried to catch our own fish, but so far we have had no luck. I guess we need more practice!

Micah has been riding his bike more and more, and he’s practically an expert now! He zooms up and down the hill like it’s nothing now! And that’s all he wants to do! He has fallen a few times, but he gets right back up and tries again. I’m proud of him!

He had also learned to tie his shoes this week, which he learned in like two days! Now he loves to tie his shoes!

Sad day. It’s so hard to say goodbye to teams, but this one was especially hard. It was so great to have Cedarville here! And poor Micah had to say goodbye to Ashtyn. He cried when she left, which broke my heart.

Today turned out a little different than planned. The last day of school though went awesome! They had the kids do a version of “The Amazing Race” and I have never seen the Windermere kids so excited about anything before!!!! They were so excited and working so hard to win!!! I almost got ran over several times by screaming teenagers running past me! It was awesome to see the life in the kids! It’s such a blessing to have Cedarville here to help us this week! It’s been the best Spiritual Emphasis we’ve had since I’ve been here for sure!

After school we went to the Ocean Hole to swim, and then Mate and Jenny’s for pizza. Then we went to the caves after dark. I decided that it probably wasn’t a good idea to go through the caves being so pregnant. Too bad I decided that AFTER I went through the caves! I will be sore for days I’m sure! But the team had a great time, and it was worth it! Baby seems to be fine, so that’s good, maybe just no cave exploring while pregnant in the future for me.

Today was the Community Outreach Day for Spiritual Emphasis. It went better than last year! The kids were actually smiling and enjoying it more! I had no trouble getting good pictures of the kids actually having fun doing the work! Praise the Lord! It’s not perfect at all, but getting better every year!

Day 2 of Spiritual Emphasis! It’s amazing to see the life in school this week! The students usually don’t enjoy this week very much, but they are loving the team! They are giving their testimony’s daily and teaching about Creation, Fall, and Redemption. And they are breaking into groups for discussion and games, which everyone loves! They are doing a great job keeping the kids involved!

Spiritual Emphasis Week started today! It’s already great! The team is leading it, and the students are way more receptive than they have been in the past! The team is doing a great job interacting with the kids and getting to know them. It can’t wait to see how the Lord continues to work!
Micah has already chosen his favorite on the team, Ashtyn. He loves her so much! He just wants to be with her all the time. It’s so hard to see him get so attached when I know she’ll have to leave soon. He’s having a great week with her and the whole team though so far. I love how much they invest in Micah!

No school today! Hooray! That didn’t mean however that no work got done! The Cedarville team worked super hard today and got a ton of work done! They cleared out the old shed and bus and built a new short-term storage facility by the basketball court. They accomplished a ton in a short time! Poor Ryan hurt his back, which was sad, but hopefully he’ll feel better soon. The team went to Ten Bay for a while in the evening to relax. Micah and I went and had fun.

It’s been a super busy weekend and it’s not over yet! It’s been GREAT though! We had the Cedarville DAE team arrive yesterday! Yeah! It’s awesome to have them here! It’s like having Cedarville here! It brings back tons of memories! They are a quality team, and we had the Fair Day today, which they were a huge help with! The day went great, no rain, yeah! Micah had fun running around the whole day, and I went back and forth to Windermere about a million times during the day for various things. I didn’t mind the driving though. It was nice. We had a great turnout for the Fair, and we even sold out of all our food and it was over a little earlier this year. Praise the Lord!
