Our Frisco Family and Leaving Home Again

Jesus says, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.”

We are leaving again for the mission field on Eleuthera, once again being sent out by our church family. And once again we’re going through the bitter sweet emotions that define the complexity between the excitement for our mission and our sadness for leaving our friends.

FBC Frisco has literally been a second home for us. We’ve fellowshipped in many different homes, slept in beds that weren’t our own, drove cars that were graciously loaned, and have experienced an unprecedented outpouring of love and support from the humbling envelops of financial aid to countless lunches and dinners. We were given golfing outings, birthday parties, diapers and supplies, Cowboy stadium tickets, and even warm clothes for Wisconsin… the list could literally go on and on.

In the wake of such generosity, we are humbled towards serving the Lord in the calling He has given us, and we have experienced the tangible reminders of our dependency upon Him and His provision through His community of believers.

During this trip I had the privilege of finally meeting a friend of mine Montello Gibson. He is a Bahamian studying at DTS and I’ve known his family on Eleuthera for the past few years. It is no small encouragement to meet a fellow co-laborer for the Kingdom, and one from the Bahamas. He knows I’m going to keep harassing him to come back to the islands one day and serve his church.

We met with our small group family to watch the Mavs win! And even though its been months and miles apart, we still have such an enduring friendship; it is a genuine example of the Spirit’s unity and love that we share together. Many are our long time supporters and all think and pray for us and our ministry regularly.

So, Jesus promises blessings in this life. We count those blessings today as we prepare to leave once again. May His church be richly blessed with every spiritual blessing, and may the contribution of their love bring forth a harvest of righteousness on that day when our King is finally revealed. Thank you to you all, from the bottoms of our hearts.
