Tropical Storm Emily – by Emily

We are praising the Lord for His protection from what could have been a bad storm this past week. Tropical Storm Emily passed through the Bahamas, with us in it’s path, but just before it got to us it weakened in strength and brought only rain and a little wind our way.

In fact, it was a big blessing for us. The wind cooled everything off. We sat on the porch and it felt like our winter! It was GREAT! And we got just enough rain to give the plants a good drink and fill our cisterns some. It was a good storm!

Not only did we enjoy the breeze, we also enjoyed the rain! Kari, Micah, and i had lots of fun playing in the rain! Micah loves stomping in the puddles and running in the rain! We got his little rain jacket on and played for a while.

We found lots of fun puddles to stomp through, and even some drain pipes to stand under while water dripped on our heads! Micah loved standing under the palm trees and shaking the rain off too! We had a fun time!

Eventually the storm turned back into a tropical storm, which I was glad of (I was a little disturbed hearing about “the remains of Emily” on the news!

The Lord sent a fun storm to us, and we are very thankful that He spared us from a bad storm! Please continue to pray with us that the rest of the hurricane season will be light.
