We all went to Amish country today.  I had hoped to visit Stephanie, but her poor little kids got sick.  I feel so bad for her!  We got to shop though and go to lunch and spend the day with Ryan’s parents before they left.  It was a fun day.

Today was Cracker Barrel Day. I call it that because we spent hours there!  Over three actually!  They were having a rough time!  But we were all together and it was a great place to be if we had to wait, so it wasn’t that bad.  I think we will remember it for a long time though!  kari had to leave tonight which is sad.  we went to Chick-fil-a before she left.  I love listening to Micah say Chick-fil-a!  It’s cute!

What a great Christmas!  First thing this morning before Micah even mentioned Santa, he went straight to the advent calendar and put up baby Jesus and Mary and Jospeh.  He was so excited!  It made me happy that that was the first thing he thought about.  After that he went downstairs and opened his santa gifts.  We got him a toy guitar, which he had been asking for, and some stars for his room, and a dust broom, flash light, and car.  he had fun opening his presents!  I had fun watching him!  Soon after Katiera and the kids and Uncle Mike and Aunt Susan got there ad we opened presents and had breakfast.  I also love having breakfast cassarole of Christmas morning!  Ryan’s parents got there in the afternoon and we all had dinner together, and spent the afternoon hanging out.  Uncle Mike and Aunt Susan had to leave in the evening, which was sad.  It was fun to have them here for the weekend though!  When they left we went to Ryan’s parents hotel to open gifts and watch the Packers.  They won!  Micah got lots if toys today!  He had a great day playing with everyone!  I love to see him having so much fun with our family!

Christmas Eve!  We had church tonight a the high school.  Micah didn’t want to leave!  I love that!  He got to play with some of the team members from the team that came to Eleuthera this summer!  I loved the candlelight service!  And they gave Micah a bag with cake mix and frosting to make a Happy Birthday Jesus cake!  After church we had Belgrades chicken.  I love that tradition!  We had a great dinner all together and then we had a 25th anniversary party for Uncle Mike and Aunt Susan.  That was funny because it is actually their 24th =)  Someboday messed up!  So they got a cake and photo album with 25th on it.  It was funny!

We had the best day of travel today!  We left in the afternoon so I had time to pack and clean the house and not rush, which was awesome!  And I dropped Tag to Ms Gibson.  We will miss him!  On the first flight the pilot gave Micah a fan which he played with the whole flight, then in the Florida airport a police man gave him police badge stickers after a speech about whining, then on the second flight they gave himm a whole bag full of goodies!  When the place was taxiing before taking off Micah started singing, loudly, and made the whole plane laugh!  it was soooooo funny!  Everyone was belly laughing!  I tried to quiet him down, but with no luck so we just let him sing.  He fell asleep half way through the flight and slept all the way through the next airport and to Ohio where Grammy and Papa and snow were waiting for us.  he was excited to see them!  We were too!  It’s great to be back!

This week has flown by!  Today was a day full of Christmas parties!  First we had our 5th and 6th grade party.  We played games and did a gift exchange and had tons of food…meatballs, conch fritters, mac and cheese, cake, cookies, wings, and lots more!  Ryan called me to save him from his 10th grade party.  So I went over there for a while and they had music blaring!  Then I went to Micah’s party.  I made a christmas cupcake cake shaped like a tree, which was fun!  Their party though got rained out so they couldn’t do the bounce house, which was sad, but they had fun anyways.  I can’t wait to go to Ohio tomorrow!  Yeah!

Today was Micah’s christmas program at school!  He did soooo good!  My favorite was when he said “A King is born!”  and held up baby Jesus!  And when he waved to me =)  They sang the Bahamian national anthem and said the pledge, and they sang songs like “Jesus, Jesus, ohhhhhh what a wonderful child…”  It was GREAT! I am so proud of him!

Today was our school’s Christmas program. I was in charge, and although it was a little stressful, it went great. Each grade did a song, dance, and skit. The Lord continues to teach me that everything does not have to be perfectly planned out. I have a tendency to want everything to be planned out weeks or at least days in advance, and to know that things will run smoothly. Things here are never planned out in advance and things are always late, and some how, everything always turns out great! The Lord reminded me again that Christmas isn’t about being stressed about a program, it’s about celebrating the birth of Christ. The kids did a great job today! I can’t wait for Micah’s program on Thursday! Every time that I ask Micah what he wants for Christmas now he says a guitar so he can rock like daddy! It makes me smile! Santa might just have to get him one.

Church was good today. Micah was a little crazy, well, a lot crazy, but it was okay. Ryan preached and did a great job! Micah said “I want to go up and preach with daddy!” It made my heart happy! After church we came back and napped, then it was Packer time. They are winning as I write this! Micah and I read some fairy tales and we had pizza for dinner. Tonight is the candlelight service at school. We have a super full week ahead of us!

We had a great family day! Today was Gingerbread day! Our church in Texas sent us a gingerbread house making kit, and we made it today, along with gingerbread men! And we read the Gingerbread Man story about 100 times (at least that’s what it felt like!) We also went to Sky Beach for a family date for lunch! Micah was excited because they added chicken fingers to their menu! It was a beautiful day, but a little too chilly for swimming. We had a fun time! Micah wanted to eat the gingerbread house and has been having trouble restraining himself! Its funny!

We read the first part of the Christmas story in Micah’s children’s Jesus Bible too. I really like that book! Then we put up the next day’s character for our advent calendar. I love to watch Micah play with the nativity set!

Today Micah wasn’t feeling too well. He has a little cold, and he has been up later this week and I thought he could use a day at home to rest and get better, so we had a sick day today. I loved cuddling with him all day! He’s extra cuddly when he’s sick! I think he’ll be good to go to school again tomorrow, but for today we had fun watching cartoons, and playing “drums” on all the pots and pans, and reading stories. We read “The Crippled Lamb” and I had a craft to do with him but I don’t have any cotton balls, so we couldn’t do the craft.

Tonight church was cancelled so Ryan was home ad we had a family night. We all cuddled up on the couch and watched “The Polar Express” which is Micah’s favorite movie. We only let him watch it when we are all together though so it stays as a special family time movie. He loves the train! I love having that family time!

Today was a great day! I got the mail from the airport this morning and there were three huge boxes full of goodies from our church in Texas! It was a HUGE blessing! I was so excited opening everything! They sent lots of stuff, including hot chocolate! And they sent lots of toys for Micah. I love when people care for my little boy! I always want him to know that he has a huge church family and real family praying for him and loving him! They also sent lots of stuff like cupcake liners and treat bags. I can’t wait to make goodies next week and take them around to friends for Christmas!

I have a new perspective this year on Christmas. I have been talking to lots of the students and other people here, and a lot of the kids don’t ever get anything for Christmas. They aren’t really excited for Christmas, because to them it’s just another day. I have gotten to challenge students to celebrate the birth of Christ this Christmas, even if they don’t have a Christmas tree or presents. I challenged one boy to start a tradition of reading the Christmas story from the Bible to his little brother on Christmas instead of just sleeping all day. I hope and pray that they learn the truth and joy of Christmas.

I also got to have Bible study with Sandy today. We watched a Beth Moore study on Advent together. It was refreshing! I love studying the Bible with Sandy!

Another great day! Ryan did a great job preaching today! The church was so welcoming of us, and Micah LOVED Sunday School! He looked forward to going back all day! And when he stepped into the church he ran as fast as he could to the room! We had dinner with a family from the church this afternoon. It was a blessing to have them invite us into their house and share their lives with us! I love God’s children! Micah got lots of candy at church! He stocked up for a while and can’t wait to go back! I got to take a hot shower this morning too! And the Packers won! And we got to sing Christmas Carols in church! What a great day!

Today was crazy! We had plans to leave early today and go up and have a leisurely day in Spanish Wells. We ended up leaving early though because of a problem with a student, and we didn’t get there until a little later. But once we got here our day has been a blessing for sure! Ryan is preaching at the Methodist church tomorrow, so tonight we are staying at the church’s house, which is amazing, with hot water in the shower and a king sized bed! We are so excited to stay here! And we had a great dinner with a couple we me that works at the church. The dinner turned out to be a special blessing and encouragement. You never know when the Lord will make something as simple as a dinner and turn it into something way more! We were blessed by our new friends!

I love December! i have been waiting for it to get here! November was great, but it seemed long to me. Today was the perfect start to December too! God sure is good! Today we went to the Festival of Carols in Governors. All the schools sang for it, including our Windermere Choir, which Ryan and I are directors of. They sang Joyful Joyful and Joy to the World, and they dd a great job! And, my favorite part of the program was Micah’s class! He did such a great job with his part! He held up the baby Jesus and said “a king is born!” He just did so great! I am so very proud of him! His class sang a song too and they did so good! It made me cry! We were a little nervous that Micah would see us and not do his part, but he just waved and smiled at us and then it was like we weren’t even there. It made my heart melt when he waved and smiled! And when he said his part!

Arf was hanging on the ceiling fan this morning spinning around and around! And I cut Tag’s hair today. Then, after school, I picked up Sandy from school and took her home. We decided to cancel all our plans for the evening and just have family time. We made pizza and watched The Polar Express all cuddled up on the couch drinking hot cocoa and eating popcorn. Micah loves that movie because it has a train! Then we got to start our advent calendar. I read the Christmas story from Micah’s Beginners Bible, and he put the first thing, Mary, on the tree.

The weather was perfect today too! I love Eleuthera in the winter!!!! I woke up at 6 this morning and ran to the beach. The sunrise was beautiful and the air was cool! A little TobyMac and Point of Grace Christmas music and the morning was perfect!

God gave us a great day!

A little more of our day, Micah has begun to love to choose his own clothes and do other things like put his straw in his juice box. He has always been able to do these things, but he has never really had the desire to do them. It’s fun watching him become a little more independent!

Another side note of our day, Ryan and I are arguing about the Muppets. I don’t like them and Ryan is heart broken that i don’t like the Muppets. He says that everyone loves the Muppets, so I asked everyone on Facebook whether or not they like the Muppets…so far two people don’t and one person does….hmmmm. Maybe someday he’ll get over the fact that I don’t like them!
