It’s so fun to celebrate things with Micah! We already had an Easter article, but after that we had a few more fun things to add in the week. Thanks to some friends in Frisco, we were able to have an Easter Egg Hunt with Micah and a few of his friends.
I hid eggs around campus and the kids searched for them all. Even baby Levi found a few eggs! I am so thankful that the Lord has given us great friends here to fellowship with! It’s especially nice to have friends with kids Micah’s age!
After the Egg Hunt we left for the airport to pick up MiMi! Mimi’s favorite holiday is Easter and she always has Easter baskets for us. She hides them around the house for us to find.
Micah had a fun time searching for his basket, and it was filled with goodies! I loved watching the look of wonder as he pulled out item by item.
It was filled with yummy healthy treats and fun toys! It was great! Ryan and I had fun finding our baskets too! She did a great job of hiding mine! It took me forever to find it! I even needed clues!
While MiMi and PaPa were here we had a mini early birthday party for Micah. They bought Micah his own work bench complete with tools! I am proud to say that us girls put the whole thing together by ourselves!
Micah had fun opening it and playing with all the tools and screws and nails. He had his own “shop” and wanted everyone to come have him fix things. It was fun!
Ryan and dad made a brandnew BBQ cooker, well new except it was recycled from an old pressure tank. Just for Micah’s birthday we got to try it out. Along with the celebrations and cake we had BBQ ribs and chicken and I made all the Bahamian fixings – peas and rice, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese. It was super yummy, and Ryan and I also wanted to make it special for our guests.
I made a carrot cake for his birthday, but he was sick with a cold the whole week, and all he wanted was popcorn, so the rest of us ate his cake. I have to say that I didn’t mind! It was a yummy cake!
My favorite thing about Easter was still listening to Micah tell us the Easter Story about Jesus. And I love celebrating the blessing that God has given us in Micah – almost four years already!
