God Answers Prayers

We’ve been a full year at Windermere and its amazing to see what has been accomplished already. The return of the basketball team, choir, and yearbook have been timeless and priceless returns to the health of the school, but some of the most outstanding achievements are those that cannot take credit through human effort.

The hurricane left a ‘divinely appointed’ hole in our school’s infrastructure and the Lord has given us some of the most wonderful people to come and serve on summer teams. This summer has been packed with work, and God has supplied all the funds we’ve needed to build our new maintenance facility.

But money is only one factor of the summer’s renewal; it is the hands that serve which are the real testament to God’s provision. Both Ms. Gibson and I have had needs that couldn’t not have been met without the loving gifts from teams and their hard work. Their selfless sacrifice has literally put roofs over heads and provided transportation up and down the island for ministry. God has done this, He has answered our prayers with “above and beyond.”

The list continues with new hardware for our administrative offices from computers to printers and copiers, to the new “state-of-the-art” computer lab, which is unrivaled on this island in technology and education; to the new utility pole that was a scary burden for over a year. By God’s timing and grace, the power company finally found the time to come and replace our leaning pole.

However, perhaps the biggest blessing is the arrival of our new missionaries, Ryan and Melissa Yates. They are ‘true to the heart’ missionaries and they’ve come ready to work and ready to serve. We are so blessed to have them here not only as coworkers but as friends and Texans! They are an answer to prayer and will serve in catalytic fashion to help bring our school to the next level.

These are momentous achievements that God has done and He deserves the glory for. We’ve all helped play a part, but God has provided the increase; He has blessed us.

The most exciting part is that this is only the beginning! Wait to see what God has in store for the next year. We’ve got another missionary in the support raising phase, we’ve poised for solar power, classroom renovation with smart boards and a crop of new summer interns to come down and invest in the school for next year are only the tip of the iceberg for what is currently in “the works.”

Praise God for His provision and grace. Pray that He continues to bless us and our work and ministry.
