We have done a lot of driving on this trip! So far each side trip has been great though, including our trip to Wisconsin! After a long 11 hour drive, my mom, Micah, and I finally arrived at PaPa and MiMi’s house! I am thankful for my mom traveling with us. She made the driving a lot easier, and it was great to spend time with her!
Our time there was full for sure! There wasn’t a dull moment! We were only there for three days, but each day was full of fun! The first day was a business day. I got my Wisconsin drivers license – yeah! And we visited the bank and the store and ran other errands. The day wasn’t all errands though. We also went over to our very generous and loving friends’ house and they let us use their pontoon boat. We had a great time out on the lake. Micah’s favorite part was seeing a loon, and I’m pretty sure my mom’s favorite part was seeing the bald eagle.
My favorite part was just being there with family on the boat! After that boat ride Micah and I went out on their paddle boat. We had a little trouble for a while when the ore got stuck and we could only paddle in one direction; we pretty much went around and around in a circle. But then we got it straightened out and headed back to shore, where Micah hopped out of the boat and pulled me and the boat in to shore and tied up the boat all by himself. He was like a little man! I was so proud! We also had a great time just hanging out with Craig and Gail. They are such wonderful people!
The next day was full too! We went swimming in Lake Emily. Micah and PaPa went fishing in the pit and caught 11 fish! They flew toy planes and took a tractor ride too, and Micah made cookies with MiMi. The day ended with playing hide-and-go-seek in a giant castle-type playground and watching MiMi play in a band concert. Micah had fun dancing to the music at the concert. It was a fun day!
Our last day was just as fun! We went into town for a few things, and visited church. Our church in Wisconsin is a huge blessing! It was fun to visit with the staff a while. We went to lunch on the way home and then went to the land in the evening. Micah looked at the tractors in awe again, and we played in the cabin for a while.
Micah had lots of fun wrestling with PaPa and reading and playing with MiMi on the trip. We miss them a lot! It’s always hard to leave again. The Lord blessed us with a great family! It is great to know that I have two sets of parents who love the Lord and teach Micah love and obey the Lord too.
