Spanish Wells: People’s Church – by Emily

This past weekend we had the privilege of spending the weekend in Spanish Wells with some dear friends. Ryan preached at the People’s Church Sunday morning for Sunday School and Church, and for the Sunday evening service. He did a great job teaching God’s Word! We are blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Lord through his preaching.

Along with preaching we got the opportunity for some great fellowship with the church body, and other friends from Spanish Wells too. When we reached the island we met with friends for lunch, then headed to the church. The church had had a work day starting from seven a.m. The members and other friends all met and worked to build a Family Life Center. it was a beautiful display of the body of Christ coming together to serve and get their hand dirty! Saturday evening Candy put together a huge dinner with tons of great food and tons of great friends, old and new! We had a fun evening of fellowship! Candy always does a great job hostessing and making us feel at home and welcome! She is a great example of a Proverbs 31 woman!

Sunday we got to go to church. Micah was looking forward to going to Sunday School, but unfortunately he got sick and spent all three services Sunday cuddled up with me. I have to admit though that I love the cuddle time with him! And he was quiet which allowed me to worship and listen to the messages. Ryan’s messages were challenging, and I loved singing the worship songs! It’s always refreshing to worship at that church!

We had a great lunch with friends Sunday afternoon too, and after the evening service we had to head back to Eleuthera. It’s always sad to leave Spanish Wells. The Lord has blessed us with really great friendships there and we are encouraged and blessed every time we go there. I am always humbled that the Lord allows us to serve here. He is so very good to us!
