Family Visits – by Emily

After three long years, I finally got to see my brother!! He got to visit Eleuthera for the first time, along with my dad and my nephew, Noah. They all came on a team from Grace in Ohio and spent the week serving at Windermere. They did a ton of work around campus, and my dad worked on our house replacing screens and fixing lights. It is a huge blessing to now have screens that don’t have holes in them – no more bugs! Yeah! Thanks Dad! It was so wonderful to have my dad here! It makes it even more home to have him here! Micah and Noah even got in on the work at times and did a great job helping the team!

It wasn’t all work for them. I love showing people around Eleuthera for the first time! I got to take Jeremy and Noah to tons of places around the island. We went to a few beaches, visited the Ocean Hole, the Glass Window Bridge, the caves, and other fun places. The team left on Saturday, and Micah had a rough time saying goodbye to Papa, but we will be visiting Ohio in a few weeks so that made the goodbye a little easier. Jeremy and Noah got to stay for the weekend, which was super fun! We went to Spanish Wells with the other missionaries, Jeff, and Jenny. We all packed into the manse for the Methodist Church. We had a great time there! We got to see great friends, and Ryan preached on worship Sunday at church. We stayed until Monday and made a few touristy stops on the way home. It was great to spend time with my brother!

Micah and Noah had lots of fun cousin time during their visit too! They slept together on a mattress on the floor the whole time. They loved playing together too! Noah made a “tree house” and they explored and jumped off several cliffs during their time. They loved playing in the waves too! They fearlessly faced giant waves over their heads that drug them under the water to shore, then they popped right up and yelled “awesome!” It was so fun!!! They found sand dollars and starfish, and we went canoeing one day and even saw some sharks. They both jumped off the tallest cliff at the Ocean Hole on the last day too! Noah jumped without a life jacket even! It was so great for Micah to have his cousin here. I feel like he grew up a ton in the last week and a half. They would sing in the car and it would make us smile! Micah is going to miss his buddy so much!
