Kari and Jimmy

When Kari and Jimmy originally asked me to officiate their wedding I was hesitant. I really didn’t want to insert myself into their special day, I only wanted to smile and celebrate along with them. However, looking back it will forever be one of my best memories and I’m so very thankful that I had the privilege of marrying Kari and Jimmy.

I really couldn’t be prouder of my sister nor more thankful for the man God has given her. Kari was always independent and strong willed, able to do whatever I could do growing up, and usually better than I could… without help. The role of a wife is much different from what a single person is used to, and selflessness and respect are hallmarks of a Godly wife; I’m so impressed to have watched her, after her engagement, growing and maturing into a woman who is preparing to be a Godly wife.

The wedding was really spectacular. First of all Kari and Jimmy have lots of friends, so the place was packed. It was the entirety of the wedding that really was beautiful as it was an outdoor wedding in a pasture with a brand-new barn built specifically for hosting weddings. They had a small outdoor band, and hay bales set up for the audience to sit; the wedding was at close to sunset and it was simply beautiful.

Other than watching and participating in my sister’s marriage ceremony, it was so wonderful just to see family and old friends. Kari and Jimmy had what must just be called a picture perfect wedding, they even had a dance afterwards with everyone having an awesome time. One of the songs they played was a polka and my grandma made the long trip down from Wisconsin and she was even up and dancing the polka with the wedding party! It was the best!

Micah was the “ring-bearer” in the ceremony and he did a great job! He was also dressed up super cute, and the whole time was a little unsure about Jimmy marrying Kari because he wanted to marry Kari. It was about the best thing ever!

We wish Kari and Jimmy every happiness and pray they always remember the covenant of marriage as a commitment before God. They both routinely interact with young people in their daily work and together they’re going to be changing lives for the testimony of Christ and leading by example as they both always have. Here’s you Hoffmans – we love you!
