Rob Chambers and Church

This was our second year with Rob Chambers and his team. Rob and his wife Paula used to serve here at Windermere “back-in-the-day” and they’ve been coming back on teams from year to year. This year they brought members from their church and another church that they used to call home. We had the privilege of serving with them and getting know these “new-to-us” but not new to Windermere team members.

Its hard to know where to start with what this team accomplished, because first of all they were spread over so many various projects and lastly because they’re the last team for the summer and have helped put the final finishing coat of “shine” on the campus classrooms.

One of the ways they specifically were a blessing to me was by installing a new starter motor on my pick-up truck. Two of their workers, Ken and Bud (who have been to Eleuthera many times), are very mechanically inclined individuals and have degrees in Engineering. They might have got more then they bargained for with my truck however because once we located the starter, it was a three-man-job to pull it out and replace it with the next, with all the convoluted bolts and hard-to-reach corners. But they got it and the truck is still running.

Additionally they fixed up the brakes on the old “trash truck” and it too is now running smoothly.

Apart from fixing vehicles, they also built the new desks for our teacher’s room computers and they put the finishing coat of paint on all the classroom floors so they shine and looks sparking new!

In addition to all the work they did on campus (not to mention the electrical work and sanding down the old doors), they also ran a VBS in Savannah Sound. From the turnout and the involvement of the local children it was a huge success.

We’re so thankful for their continued service and giving spirit to come and bless the school, and we look forward to their return next year.
