We have been working our way through our fourth module in the Windermere Bible College curriculum this past term. It is helping to prepare the student through a biblical definition and purpose of the Minister of the Gospel and Church Leader. It has been a joy to see how the fundamental understanding of Spirit-led leadership and biblical offices of Elder and Deacon are empowering for the individual to see the headship of Christ in the structure of the church.
This being our 2nd year of college level material has revealed a commendable commitment from our students. Although I’d like to see them increase their frequency and quality of homework, I must applaud their efforts to work through the material, attend class, and keep their bills paid. The role of education must be one where we embrace the idea of process. This reality shows that it is my job as the certified leader to allow for both the rise and fall of the educational experience through classroom instruction and church implementation.
As we move into the new year, Mark Turner will again be joining our class to help lead us through our next course called Interpreting I, where we allow the narrative of the book to dictate the first stages of understanding. This upcoming class will, much like the others, be instrumental in providing our students with the resources they need to effectively lead their congregations in the Word of God.
Thank you for all your support and prayer as we continue our commitment to providing Biblical education for the church in the Bahamas, and pray that we will keep following the Lord as we look to where He leads.
