GIRL!!! At last, the question we have all been waiting to hear the answer to! Last month I was able to fly to the United States for a short visit to go to the doctor for my 20 week appointment. It was hard to not have Ryan and Micah there to find out the news with me, but it was fun to text them from the doctor’s office! Along with hearing that we are having a girl, we were blessed with a good health report for her and me. She looks happy (wiggly!!!!) and healthy! Praise the LORD! I also got to get lots of questions answered from the doctor. I will (Lord willing) have the baby in Ohio, so it was great to be able to talk logistics through with the doctor. They want to do a C-section at 39 weeks since I had one with Micah. We are praying that everything works out for Ryan to be there by then and everything to go smoothly. Please continue to pray with us!
I also need to tell of another blessing from the Lord. I am constantly amazed to see Him work through different people and circumstances. In the beginning of this pregnancy, we had been planning on going to the States for this appointment, but with the cost of everything so far, we decided we should stay in Eleuthera. I didn’t know about that since we are having the baby in Ohio, but that was the way things were going. Then I talked to a doctor in Texas who has been a blessing to our family for the last few years. We have called on his expertise several times about health questions, and he has been a huge help! He felt strongly that we should go to Ohio for the 20 week appointment, and he volunteered to raise the money for my plane ticket. I am humbled by his willingness to serve in this way. We have never even met him in person! He and his Sunday School class raised the money for me to go, and I am again amazed at the Lord’s provision!
My trip home was great! I got to spend some time with my family and even have a birthday party! And I got to go out with my friend Stephanie and go to church. My mom is super excited about me having a girl and has already bought little pink clothes for her! She’s a wonderful mom and grandma! It was fun to shop with her! I also got to have dinner with the Purdy family, who will be leading a team to Eleuthera this summer. It was fun to catch up and talk about memories and future hopes! I was hoping to see other friends while I was there, but because of the shortness of the trip, I wasn’t able to. I am looking forward to being in Ohio for a long time this summer and be able to spend time with my friends! Ryan and Micah barely made it through the week without me gone. They survived though and it’s good to be back home.
Baby Girl Flunker is the biggest wiggle worm ever! I love to feel her wiggles in my belly! (Although I pretty much have to pee all the time!) One weird thing about this pregnancy is that she has not let me go near carrots without crying. On several occasions I haven’t even been able to go into grocery stores! I cried at restaurants and Christmas parties, and dinners. Anytime they have been in the same room….bam….water works! Not just little tears either….sobbing! I did however buy carrots for the first time a few weeks ago for Micah’s lunch. I was proud of myself! I am not about to eat them yet though! Also, eating bananas makes me gag. I have gagged and dry heaved many times this pregnancy! I only threw up once though! Yeah! Sometimes I can’t walk too because the baby is sitting on a nerve or something, but it gets better usually within a few minutes. It’s all worth it though to have a little baby girl!
We are humbled by the grace of the Lord to give us this baby. We don’t deserve HIS goodness in our lives. Every day is a reminder of His grace and mercy!
