Announcing: Sadie Mae Flunker

She is amazing to me… simply amazing. What a blessing! We are so excited to announce the birth of our baby girl, Sadie Mae Flunker. She arrived via c-section at 3:30pm at 8lbs and 4oz. Emily has been such a champ throughout the surgery, and baby came through beautifully.

The doctors and nurses are so wonderful here at the hospital. Truth is Emily and I were both pretty nervous. We tried looking like we knew what we were doing, but honestly we were both freaking out on the inside. But the nurses were so helpful and comforting, they really helped lighten the tension and especially help me through the delivery. At the point of her arrival, the anthologist actually grabbed my arm to life me up to see her born… I didn’t want to see, but I’m glad that I did.

Emily’s recovery has been so much better than with Micah so far. Her blood pressure has been right back up, and she says her pain level is at like a “1” even though only 5 hours ago it looked like she was cut in half.

Sadie is just amazing. She resoundingly and unanimously looks like Micah. Micah has been just the best big brother so far. Walking into the hospital he was a little clingy and apprehensive, but once he saw her, he just wanted to hug and hold her. When she would crunch up her cheeks and everyone would coo and laugh, he would say “stop laughing at her. She is just a baby.” He is already assuming the role of a protective big brother. When we would hand her off to be held by the next family member, he would warn, “watch out for her head / hold her careful.” We could barely get him to leave to go home with uncle Jeremy.

We feel so blessed. You never know how things are going to go, at lot could be a surprise. But God has given us such an answer to prayer in a healthy baby and a safe delivery. Thank you to everyone who has been constantly praying for us. We are so thankful for our new little treasure.
