Halloween 2014 – by Emily

This year Halloween was extra fun! The Lord blessed us with several little blessings that helped our Fall Homesickness be a little easier. One blessing that we received was PUMKPINS! One of our friends shipped us pumpkins on the boat from Nassau, so for the first time in 7 years we got to carve a pumpkin, and we made our own little pumpkin patch on the beach! We had fun carving the pumpkin with Micah. He drew a plan for the pumpkin himself, and it turned out great!

Halloween Day was really fun too! Micah had a fun day at school, and they did a costume parade. Micah this year was a ninja, and he was an awesome ninja if I do say so myself! His costume was complete with nun-chucks!

Apparently ninjas are big this year because there were several other little boys who were dressed as ninjas – you can imagine the battles that happened on the playground! I love it that in the Bahamas you can still bring toy guns, nun-chucks, and swords to school!

For Halloween night we went to Spanish Wells again to go Trick-or-Treating with our friends. We love our tradition! SadieBug was a LadyBug this year, and she was pretty much the cutest ladybug ever!!!! She knew she was cute too! She stayed awake as long as she possibly could. She loved watching everything and hearing all the sounds! She was a great dollar baby too and got some money for her piggy bank.

Micah came back with a WHOLE pillowcase of treats! We had fun trick-or-treating and spending time with our friends, and seeing all our friends in Spanish Wells all dressed up.

There were several Elsa’s from Frozen, ninja Turtles, and there was another little girl named Sadie who was dressed as a bug too. The two Sadie’s are friends!

We are thankful for the family time together this Halloween again. God has been very good to us!
