Fair Day

Once again the whole school worked overtime for our annual Fair Day fundraiser. Preparations begin months in advance and we are so thankful to our PTA leaders in their efforts to help make the day a success. As has been the blessing for the past couple of years, Cedarville University students made the day easier by volunteering for all the heavy lifting and filling in wherever we needed help.

I was excited to resume my annual role as chief grill master, and this year I got help from our new missionaries (I guess they’re not so new any more) Ken Klepper. The grill is always a ton of fun, mainly because you get to taste test all the meat before it comes off the grill. Ken and I are happy to announce that everything was properly cooked to perfection.

The kids always have an awesome time at the fair. There are game to play and prizes to win, and I think more than anything they simply love running around with each other within the excitement of all the hustle and bustle of Fair Day. It is fun to watch their carefree spirit all day long.

We were again blessed to have Cedarville University serve alongside our staff in all the booths to help make the entire day run smoothly. One of the biggest helps that CU is on Fair Day is all the additional hands available in the planning, packing, and cleaning up.

After all the crazy feeding and playing was finished, and the bus was loaded and the stalls were swept, Windermere generated around an additional $5,000 to help offset the student’s tuition for the school.

We are extremely grateful to the PTA for their hard work and to all the parents from alumni who also volunteered and gave of their time to be a blessing to the school. Another successful Fair Day!
