Our little Sadie is growing so fast each day. Its so hard to believe that in such a short span of time she can take on so many character nuances and develop her personality so much. As has been the tradition that Micah has benefited from for 8 years, we had a party for Sadie in the US and another in the Bahamas (seems like I only remember getting 1 birthday party each year… these kids now days…).
The party for her in Wisconsin was a bit early, but it was super fun to have it with her Meme and Papa. Her favorite present was her new bike from her grandma and grandpa. She will need a little more practice on it but sitting on it is super fun.
Our party for her in Eleuthera was a pool party at Sky Beach. Sadie shares her birthday with Jennie Parks and the two of them always get their picture taken together. We had a wonderful time at the restaurant, not only did Sadie have fun (and get new sandals from Aaron and Rachel), but we had the whole campus staff and their kids come along to the party too. Also, our neighbors the Rankins came with their kids. Although Sadie is a bit small to run around with the rest of the big kids, Micah had a great time splashing and playing in the pool.
The day was nice and cool, mostly because of the light rain at the restaurant, but that didn’t stop anyone from having fun. My favorite part of the party was just cuddling with little Sadie in her towel.
Now that she is getting older, she is learning words and getting a little Ms. Attitude face sometimes. When you take something away from her – like her iPad, she instantly frowns and lets you know. My favorite word for her is “wawa” for water.
With our transition home it was hard to throw her a proper party, but we had a wonderful time with family and friends, and we’re so blessed to have 2 years with our baby girl – happy birthday Sadie!
