After So I just got back from what was one of my best trips to Eleuthera ever. This past week, my friend Matt and I flew down for CMA’s third graduating class from our bible institute.
It is so encouraging to hear the testimonies from the graduates about the blessing the training has been in their lives. So often, the missionary works without experiencing the encouragement from their efforts – and graduation is a very special time to see first hand the changed lives and effective training.
Our trip was only a few days long, but it was also a special blessing for me to share it with Matt. Although Matt and Sukey are planning on being missionaries to Tanzania, we’re still trying our hardest to get them to join with us in working in the Caribbean. Regardless, it was such an enjoyment to show Matt all the areas of ministry which Emily and I will spend our efforts; he is the first friend to share this experience with us.
Even in the course of only a few days we got to experience it all: Governors Harbor to Spanish Wells, the beaches to construction work, and the sand and the sun. We even got to catch up with all the guys in James Cistern and play another game of pick-up basketball, just like when I would spend my summers in Eleuthera.
We also got to spend some sweet time of fellowship with other missionaries: Dave Hawkins, Brad and Alicia Fox, and Paul and Lisa Voss and Family.
Through having the last day of classes along with the graduation, we were encouraged to see the work of this ministry flourish. Each of the new student graduates were a direct result of a previous graduate’s work, ministering and encouraging other’s to join in the training. It is our prayer that the ministry will continue to spread through the equipping of God’s saints, and the building up of His church.
