7.19.08 – Last Sunday, Last Week in Dallas

Well, unbelievably we’ve finally made it to our last week here in Dallas. We’ve been blessed to have been given so many wonderful friends here, both from DTS and from FBC Frisco.

This past Sunday I got to preach at church. It was a message on compassion: how the practice of compassion is modeling Christ-like living and loving God means loving your neighbor.

During the service our Pastor interviewed Emily and I so that the rest of the congregation could get a idea of the ministry of CMA, and how FBC can parter with us.

Then at the end of the service our entire church gathered around us, laid hands on us, and commissioned us as missionaries praying for God’s leading and blessing. It was truly a meaningful time, again revealing how immensely the Lord has blessed us.

This week we’ve had friends taking us out to eat for dinners and lunches. Our Pastor’s wife and daughter came over to hold Micah and help us pack. People from our church has given us checks for support, and our small group is throwing us a pool party! We want to thank everyone who has given us so much, we are deeply grateful and look forward to serving the Lord as representatives of FBC Frisco.

We never expected to make such meaningful relationships during our time at DTS, nor did we expect to have been given such a wonderful church family. Our praise goes to our Lord who generously gives beyond that which we could ever ask or imagine.
