9.30.08 – Our First Class: “Spiritual Life”

We just finished our first class for the fall here on Eleuthera. This is the first class that I’ve had the privilege to teach, and it has been a joy to sit and discuss the depths of the Word of God with our eager students.

Fellow missionary and my close friend Brad Fox and I got to team-teach the course. We are both in full agreement that squeezing this course manual into 2 weeks is virtually impossible. And each night revealed that in our excitement to teach we routinely went over our time limit by 15 minutes.

Actually, I’m learning that I’ve got a lot to learn about teaching. My first night I took a 3 hr. lesson and squeezed it into 4 1/2 hours! Yeah, don’t need to worry about under preparing.

I have to say it was such a blessing and very fulfilling to teach this class with Brad. The students were just superb; they asked penetrating questions and they were quick to respond during the lessons.

In this course of “Spiritual Life” Brad and I covered: Identity, Christian Growth, Purpose and Mission, Maturity, Spiritual Disciplines, Dealing with Sin, Community, and brief segments on Worship and Prayer. Needless to say, it was a wealth of material that had to be squeezed into a limited amount of time.

We are so thankful to those who have been supporting and praying for us, as it is by your faithful support that we areprivileged to serve God by teaching at EBTC.
