3.08.09 – Cedarville OPE Team

Theta Roe Epsilon or OPE is the men’s discipleship org that I belong to from Cedarville University, and this past week they sent down a team of 7 guys to Eleuthera on a Spring Break Missions Trip.

The team was fantastic! Not only did they work and minister well, but it was personally so great to be back with students from the ‘ville. There is a “quality” about Cedarville Students that you just don’t run across that often, but when you do it is quite refreshing.

During their week here they focused their energy and efforts in helping CMA bridge our relationships for Bible Training down to the southern-most part of the island. CMA is committing to starting a new Bible Training School in the settlement of Rock Sound this coming fall, but we have a lot of ground to cover in the realm of building and forming relationships.

The OPE guys helped us by partnering with the local high school to coach and prepare their students and facilities for the Annual Inter-Island Track Meet.

They formed and dug the jumping pit, poured and browned two concrete slabs (for shot and discus), and ran all the lines for the field events. Finally, along with some preaching engagements, they officiated the meet on Thursday and Friday.

CU teams are consistently quality teams, and we hated to see them leave today, but we know that the more students that come through the Training Center, the better off CMA is towards developing future relationships with Christians committed to living what they believe.
