5.5.09 – Student Ordination Service

This past Sunday we got to celebrate the ordination of two of our students, Jenni and Charmain. These two ladies have been faithful students for the past two years and this week marks a milestone in their lives as they were both officially recognized as servants of the church and on this Friday as graduates from the Eleuthera Bible Training Center.

The ordination service was one of those traditional Bahamian services with lots of singing and enthusiastic preaching. Jenni and Charmain serve at Governor’s Harbor Oasis of Love. They are a semi-recent church, and we plan on working with them this summer to help with their new building.

Both women are committed students of God’s Word, and they are routinely the first ones who arrive for class each day. I’ve got to personally sit down with them and talk through questions they had about God’s Word, and I’m encouraged to see that they will now be in a position of responsibility and entrusted to use that which God has given them for the service of the church.

We celebrate their ordination and look forward to a continued relationship with them even after graduation.
